Photography: Post your photos here

very nice picture! great colours and good composition... the one thing i think maybe could be improved a bit is the point of where it is sharp. it seems to me (though i might be wrong, it is late and my eyes are tired) that the leafs behind the blossom are sharp, while the blossom itself is slightly blurry - would be even nicer if the sharpest point was the middle of the blossom itself... but still great photo!

I do love photography, though I am quite new to it. Hopefully in time I will get better, but here is a small sample. A Rose of Sharon blossom, probably the last one of the season.

Nice picture. Love the water droplets. Some seem to have little blue reflections.

Munachi, I think I see what you mean. Maybe this one will be a little clearer in the center of the picture. It also shows a little visitor who was hiding in the first picture. Thank you for your compliments and critique. I will try to be mindful of all that I learn here.

I too noticed the blue reflections. It is possible it was picking up the color from my blue jeans as I was squatting down to take it since it was a very low to the ground blossom. Thank you zraddish, I'm glad you like it.

May I be terribly presumptuous?

Here is my site (Read: Journey of learning) if anyone is interested in my pictures.

Very nice pictures Nirvana. I also looked through your journal and viewed the pictures of 2008. Powerful.

hehe yeah i guess if you are afraid of heights climbing pictures can remind you of that... though i also had to first learn to overcome my fear when i started climbing, it is actually quite good for that...

well then this time something that has nothing to do with heights - but is instead more strongly been worked on in photoshop:

Wow,Ebonee that is really good.
What kind of camera do you use?It is so clear.

Thank you LadyFawn. My camera is a Canon PowerShot SD870 IS ELPH, digital camera. As my first (and only) digital camera, it does a decent job.

More power to you getting that close to bees.
Not a bad shot for a little camera. See it isn't the camera that makes the photographer. You have a good eye.
To see what others may pass over.
I have never tried taking pictures of flowers.
Trees and outdoors stuff yes.

how about a cat for today (not sure if i posted this one before, if so, sorry)...

Thank you zraddish. I do have some strange fears, but bees aren't one of them. My family always thought I was nuts when I wouldn't try to swat them away from me, and in fact would allow them to crawl on me. I just won't let the bees know I've had an allergic reaction to their stings before.

Living in the country does seem to give me some opportunity to take those kinds of pictures. But I'd like to experiment with a lot of different subjects.

This little one gave me fits trying to get a picture of it. It just wouldn't stay put at all, hopping from one flower to the next. It is a bit blurry, but this was the best one I was able to get.

Aww, pretty kitties. That's a dangerous subject for me, since there are so many in my neck of the woods.

Strange my post went missing. Oh Well.
I like that is it blurry it makes it surreal.
I have to dig through my pictures to find anything other
travel pics. Sadly most are on slides or negatives.
Still kind of new to digital.
Here is on I took in Nov of this year.
