Photography: Post your photos here

Those are great, zraddish. I like the first one because it brings me thoughts of a romantic stroll in a park with the man I love. The second is great architecture.

Thanks. I don't think it is to hard to take good pictures of these sort of things. It is the everyday ordinary that is hard.
I love taking pictures of pathways and stuff. Pictures that draw you in.

here one, where the picture isn't that great technically (like, i think the crop isn't the best, and the colours are a bit too extreme maybe), but i just like it for the subject:

I like it. It has an industrial look to it. The cropping and colors makes it look artsy.

Here is one I took outside Portland at Crown point.
I like this picture allot, it has this otherworldly quality
to it. All hazy and soft. I was trying to get some depth
on this shot. without a tripod or long exposure.

Very good pictures, and being the fan of the outdoors. I like them all.
The dragon fly is really cool, as is the rocks and river shot.
Water falls are nice. I used to live by Snoqalimin Falls in WA. And would go there allot, right now it is overflowing like crazy. I miss it. Glad you posted here. What kind of camera do you use?

Here is one I took a about 6 or 7 yrs ago. It was with my old 35mm
and printed on paper.
Strange most of these shots had this vignetted or fade effect.
Could be the camera needs the seals checked and replaced.
I haven't used it in awhile.
It is Lake Mono, CA. We were able to kayak out in the lake.
It is fresh water mixed with salt water. Used to be an old volcano.
Its the mixture that creates these rocks

Very nice pictures, webejamn. I love the waterfalls the best, but I have always been in awe of them.

I will trade you. I like cold wet and dreary. We have sun and will get it all next week highs 78 BLAH!

You got a deal! We got some snow, sleet, rain mix today. As soon as I got home from shopping, I heard fire whistles from two nearby departments going off within seconds of each other. No doubt to some accidents on the roads.

Very nice, zraddish. I think the fading effect (even if it wasn't intentional) adds to drawing your eye to the center of the picture.

I will take the weather yep.
I can't for life of me figure it out the fading thing. It works.
Here is another. I like old abandoned building and things.

These are just beautiful. I was thinking about posting some of my pictures, but compared to all of this, Indiana cornfields seem plain boring.

i use cannon, these new ones were taken with either my 5d, or my 40d, the dragon fly was taken with a 40d and a 500mm f4 lens, it took me about 2 hrs to catch one in flight, in the right spot...
i live near glacier national park, so i get up there often, and to yellowstone from time to time as well.. i just live in a good place to take pics, here are a few more
the quality of these is kinda low so i could fit them on here... the ones on my site are much better, www.glacier-imagery.com

yes, there is always something to shoot, everywhere, and everywhen,
you just have to think to see the way most dont see,

I am a Nikon girl myself, though I do own a 645n Pentax.
Nice images, I am not any good at action photos or people. I need to take my time, focus etc...
Which is why I prefer Nature and scenic. But unless I am by myself I am always rushed.
I almost bought a 8 x 10 camera, but lugging it around would have sucked.
I did visit your website love the Seattle shots.
I must say I am more motivated to pictures again, because of this thread.:)

Here is an oldie. I took this one 20 odd years ago. I had just bought a 35mm camera.
It was slide film, Sebachrome (sp) film or something like that.
They don't make it anymore. It always warmed up colors great for fall shoots,
not people though. This is at the base of Sugar Loaf mountain in
Maryland,in Oct. It was brisk that day, rained off and on.
I guess I could use vivid setting on the digitial,
and tripod. I do that when it is to dark or cloudy out and I want
vivid colors. It is a bit to extreme sometimes.

yes, i thought about buying a 4X5, was detoured by the cost of film and development, and lugging it around, with all my gear i have now its a pain to take all of it on a long hike, hell even a short hike is a pain sometimes.
i am not too fond of shooting people either, i dont mine action shots, but portraits and weddings are just not my thing. i much prefer landscape and animals who i find to be more predictable than people... but i wouldnt mind trying some posed nuddies lol
as far as nikon vs canon its about preference of name choice, any upper lvl camera gear is going to function nicely. but, when you watch a football game count the white lenses you see from the pro's vs black ones. lol
here are 2 of my fav from seattle shots,

Yes the night shot was my favorite to. true the sports stuff isn't Nikon, but most if not all staff photographers at National Geographic use Nikons, Fine art and studio stuff Hassleblad (sp). Family friend use to work for National Geo.repairing the cameras. He was the one who sold me my first Nikon. I have been hooked since then.

Ooo! I do love the colors in that one, zraddish.

Thanks. I just went back this past Nov but missed the colors this time.
That day was just perfect when I took that. I only took a few pictures there.
I was just not into photography as much then. Which was sad I traveled
allot and really didn't try for good shots. just did the point and shot.
