Pink Orchid: Story Event for Women-Centric Erotica - Official Support Thread

I finished the synopsis for my story and decided I'd write the first scene. That's always the scene I fuss over the most. It seems early, but I'd rather have it done early than late.

Had the first idea for my own story yesterday. In celebration of that I'll bump this thread :)

It was about time, I mean, I should have a story for my own event, right?

The first scene in mine worked, so I decided to write the second. The words are coming slowly, but that seems natural because it's a gentle, relaxed sex scene. I think I'll have to break after this and develop the synopsis a little more because the characters and their motivations are coming into better focus.

I'm still interested in the notion of a how-to for a male to understand female empowerment, which wasn't even what the earlier misunderstanding was about.

Well, I hope someone takes you up on that. For what it's worth, I think it starts with basic empathy and imagination, both of which I hope authors would have. Imagine some of the issues women face, then imagine it's you it's happening to, every day of every week, and see how it makes you feel and what would you like to change to make it better.

Part of it is challenging the assumption that sex ends once a man has cum. That is one of my pet peeves. I admit I usually get around it by having a simultaneous orgasm, but from experience, it is bloody sexy having a man cum, only to want to continue pleasing a woman.

I suspect if an author is unsure how to write from the perspective of female empowerment then this would be an ideal opportunity to sit back and read the stories that are submitted.

Definitely not hinting that this is you JSFH, but if a man is not sure about the notion, then asking a woman to explain it to him so he can write a story mansplaining the concept is a little meta.

I'm sort of looking forward to reading the stories from the authors who don't figure out How-To.

My guess is they'll be the ones in Gay Male or even in NonCon where the male realises what the woman really needs and gives it to her because he knows best!

Now that my Christmas story is up and getting 1 bombed into oblivion, I have started this pink orchid event in earnest.

Yeah, pretty much that is what I have. One story is chapter 2 of the valentine's day virgin sacrifice. I had wanted some type of empowering Sex and the City, so far that is not hitting the mark.

The second story is a man trying to get women to switch from tampons to menstrual cups. It is based on a true story and so far is a story where the male realises what the women really need and gives it to them because he knows best, which fails completely. The rest of the story is him trying to figure out how to get women to understand this option is out there so they can decide for themselves. The women's overwhelming response is you're a stupid sexist pig and we don't need you to tell us what to do about our periods.

You would think these things would sell themselves as they cost much less, need to be changed only every 12 hours instead of every 4 hours, address almost every concern and hassle of tampons, most women don't feel it when it is in unlike a tampon, does not have the overflowing problems a tampon does.

They do come with some challenges. Sometimes they're really difficult to get out, inserting and ejecting them can be very uncomfortable. And they are sort expensive, I think. I think I paid 15 euros for mine. I don't know if they're really that much more affordable, but then again it depends on the taxation in the country you are in, seeing as some consider these "luxury items".

Reduced waste is nice, I admit, but it can also be kind of yucky having to clean it up when you are on the move. Especially if it's someone else's home it might be awkward washing it in their bathroom sink. Also 12 hours is already way too long for these things, and depending on how much bleeding you do, you might end up emptying these every 5 or so hours. You could of course get a bigger diva cup, but good luck trying to shove that in there.

So, your Pink Orchid female empowerment story is about a man?

I don't see why it couldn't be.

Then again my story looks like its going to be about a jealous goddess who pretty much tortures her god husband's lovers. It doesn't go into detail about all that of course. In the end she becomes enlightened about our incapability in choosing who we love and realizes that "this is bad, actually" and lets them all go.

It is a story about discovery and self-betterment but it comes after she has inflicted a lot of suffering for her fellow women. Oh well. Girl power.

A group of guys in college figuring out that if they do the cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping, then women will want to spend the night at their place. If they don't slut shame those women, those women will want to live there as well.

Part of the story is the women feeling confident enough to tell their boy friends, who in one case quickly becomes her ex, that they are not his maid or his mom.

It is set during either the very earlier days of the 1990s dot.com bubble or 1974 or 1978 and I am thinking some the story should be about financial self-sufficiency and financial literacy. Nothing helps female empowerment more than financial freedom.

In the United States;
A key step in women's financial freedom came with the passage in 1974 of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, which granted women the right to a credit card in her own name.

The Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978 made it illegal to fire a woman for being pregnant, which was previously common practice.

My problem is I don't know how to make those facts a literotica story, let alone a female empowerment story.

Just because it's illegal doesn't mean it doesn't happen. But how do you prove you got fired over being pregnant? They just got out your performance records and said that you were underperforming. So obviously it wasn't the whole pregnancy thing.

I'm definitely interested in participating in this. I'm thinking a woman who is frustrated with the fact that her husband always finishes, and she only finishes sometimes, so she starts doing something about it. It wouldn't necessarily be femdom, but the power would shift to her taking more authority in her own pleasure.

Maybe most, but there are a lot of "I looked at myself in the mirror, caressing my gigantic tits..." stories here that I wouldn't consider female empowerment.

Omenainen, lovely idea for a contest - I have difficulty doing contest stories (currently struggling through my second ever) but I'll see if inspiration hits.

Aren't those mainly (badly) written by men (badly) pretending to be women?
I've read several supposedly "female point of view" stories that seem to be more along the lines of how a frustrated man child thinks women think and act than how they actually do.

I planted my orchid seed last night and it germinated onto the page as a place holder title (Pink Orchid :D) and a rather fragile looking first sentence. I have plans and ideas but was too tired to continue.
Now I must find the time to nurture my orchid, lest it wither, and keep it weeded too so as not to become over grown with other ideas and tangents, where a sprawling tree with too many branches and roots to keep track of may grow in its place.
I’d like to think I write realistic characters and as my orchid grows I hope I can do my women characters justice in this event. We shall see...
