Pmann wants to talk mental health

*blinks*

Did you...just call the Stickman...Baby?

*blinks again*

A decade on Lit and it turns out this moment is what I've been waiting for the whole time. I can now retire from Lit with perfect serenity.

I don't know who you are, Paligirl, but it's possible I like you. :D
Is he an Imperialist English Asshole?!? LOL!

He is…just not usually addressed on the board with casual endearments.

Yeah.

Let's go with that. 😂

(He's da bomb, but might be considered by some to be an acquired taste. :p)
He asks the tough questions that requires thought. He sometimes crosses the line. i trust him more than I trust most here...but few trust me so my opinion means little. Lol...she called him "baby"...

I just have to join in here with complete and utter amusement.
The Lord will have fun with everyone's responses, I'm sure.
I'm with @Dribble on this one. He is thought provoking and generally a good fella. Though he does like to make a lot of self named threads...🧐

I am still giggling at the Baby...we could be watching a new pmann emerge...

He thinks California is weird.

True story time.

My grandfather died when I was 14. He raised me. He knew his time was short, so he did something no farmer should do. He planted every acre into Winter wheat. 1500 acres on the main farm and another 1000 acres on rented land. He died in January...so when July rolled around...there I was...14...opening up the fields for harvest. And down the road came combine after combine and semi after semi. They pulled out of their fields to honor a man that was always willing to help others. I learned a big lesson that day.

So on to California I went. I worked on a big ranch in the Central Valley. The thing about cotton...it must be plowed under by December first not to be fined by the state to prevent the boll weavel. We were done with our second picking...finished for the year. Our neighbor had not started. See...his son blew his brains out at the local Motel 6 and the father was a mess. I asked my boss....why don't we go do it for him...we can be done in a day. His response....who will pay for my fuel? What if a picker breaks down? Who covers my costs? This guy lost his son due to addiction...and you are worried about money? Fucked up. I even told him what our neighbors did for my grandfather. It fell on deaf ears.

I knew then...I was not...and never could be a Californian. California is also where my personal addiction battle was fought. Weird? My experience was more a lack of morality. I don't know if my experience was isolated...but just as I learned a great lesson that July day we harvested 2500 acres...California taught me lessons that exposed the opposite spectrum of humanity. In a way, I owe a lot to California.

I feel the same way about Texas.

Your grandfather sounds like a solid dude. People don't just show up like that for others often, and it's a testament to his character that they came for you. I can't imagine that poor farmer dealing with his son's death and not feeling a sense of communal duty to go help him out. People baffle me. What goes around always comes around.

I'm eternally grateful I landed in a community that truly takes care of one another.

I used to assume Southerners were more caring than most any other region in America. But it's changed in recent years. People have become judgmental, paranoid and racist. I could be flippant and blame hockey, but it's obviously deeper. It's political and religious. I fear it can't be fixed.

It depends on your point of reference, such as where in the South even in individual states some spots can make the entire state look bad. They'll always be a few who only know bigotry, racial bias, and pure hatefulness.
I hate to burst your bubble, but southerners literally went to war over slavery.
They've always been racist.
Now they're just boldly so 😔
Oh without question a significant portion of the state's rights mantra came down to slaveholders' rights which were despicable. But Northerners also greatly benefitted from that slavery as well, all the while condemning it. The South's lack of an industrial base capable of matching the North's was its downfall and I believe exacerbated the discontent and more. Shortsighted people continued to rely on tobacco, cotton, and other agricultural means to sell and trade but only possible to do so on the backs of slaves. Such an ugly and disgraceful era.

In the battle between Floriduh Man and TexAss Man, everybody loses.

just as an aside...Im sober 36 years. If you were sober during the pandemic AA zoom meetings from Southern California were the best. Its where I got sober and continue to be so. That being said...I would hardly say that a farmer is a good picture of what the state offers insofar as humanity. They kill and eat their pet chickens. They are a different lot.

Yeah.

Let's go with that. 😂

(He's da bomb, but might be considered by some to be an acquired taste. :p)
And that is true for me. I am very much an acquired taste. I called out the English Imperialist Attitude right away. I could see him looking down his nose to say..."She's a bit much..." a euphemism for the California exuberance. :catroar:

There’s a lot to handle here. <—— that’s also the name of my sex tape

It is quite a unique thing to be called Baby. I thought about going into a feminist rant about her using demeaning language. But then I remember how much I hate when the Litches do that and I remembered I’m not an asshole.

I can see how someone would greatly enjoy me being called Baby. Especially those who have known me for a while. And, as some said, acquired my taste.

Is he an Imperialist English Asshole?!? LOL!

I may be an imperialist and I may be an asshole, but how DARE you call me English.

I have definitely acquired his taste. That sounds wrong, but I’m sticking with it. ;)

I don’t think it takes much “acquiring” now does it.

He asks the tough questions that requires thought. He sometimes crosses the line. i trust him more than I trust most here...but few trust me so my opinion means little. Lol...she called him "baby"...

I am trusty. ❤️ Thank you for your endorsement.

And when have I crossed a line?!? 🤔

I just have to join in here with complete and utter amusement.

Wrong. He is a great fella and I feel compelled to start a thread detailing why.

^^^ Never be with Dribbler, the Seditionist.

I feel like you’re a fan.

He thinks California is weird.

*Glares in Oregonian*

Gross.

I once heard someone say Southerners are nice but not kind, and northerners are kind, but not nice.

Listen up, fuckers. My family is from the north, but I was born in the south. So I’m both nice and kind.

I hate to burst your bubble, but southerners literally went to war over slavery.
They've always been racist.
Now they're just boldly so 😔

Honestly, the subtle bigotry of the other places I’ve been probably outweighs the overt racism I’ve seen in the south.

I get it. It's pretty and there's a lot to love!
No place is perfect and honestly, the south is better for having you there 😊

Thank you.
