posting poetry in the General forum?

The GB reminds me of high-school. Yes, there may eventually be something fun happening there, but mostly, it's full of people that I'd feel compelled to argue with, and I'm beyond believing that talking to people in that way accomplishes anything. Too much drama, and unwillingness to meet halfway.

Indeed. Yet sometimes people troll others badly there (people with valid concerns and real questions). Not the best place for the emotionally unstable to pose questions and ask for directions.

I go in there on occasion, if I see something I can help with. Recently someone made a thread because "omg I did something with my mouse and now all the text is very small on my screen". Said person had "fixed" the problem by changing the screen resolution... I felt inclined to inform this person about how to reset the zoom in the browser...

the GB's population holds a lot of writers/artists and musicians - moreso than the PG or Ampics; it's why there's a lot of barbed wordplay though few fatalities

I only ever went to the GB once. My skin is too thin for there. But on a alt, I did a couple of SRP threads then also the Playground. I feel more comfortable in the PoBo or the AH.

apart from the screaming racists/trolls/i'm-an-expert-on everything-especially-politics types, the rest aren't bad at all. don't take yourself too seriously or any replies, wit and funny pics are appreciated, as are insightful, intelligent posts. you'll find some great classical music posts and hints for dinner, weather reports and shoes and various other, more sexually-related threads mouthbreathers, though, are asked to return to ampics in no uncertain terms!

Hey we don't care whether you rhyme or not. And if your poetry sucks it's on you. We'll just wander off and read Howl or something.

Why don't you try an American Sentence? Fifteen syllables and no line breaks. Even a non-poem writing GB'er can write one. They can even be all snarkified if you choose.

But I am sorry to report that all time best poetry from a GB person was won years ago by Scotty X when he wrote about wonton women. No that's not a typo.
