oh, i don't know if i should feel conflicted or take you to their leader

They have a leader? That seems unlikely, somehow.
The GB reminds me of high-school. Yes, there may eventually be something fun happening there, but mostly, it's full of people that I'd feel compelled to argue with, and I'm beyond believing that talking to people in that way accomplishes anything. Too much drama, and unwillingness to meet halfway.
Indeed. Yet sometimes people troll others badly there (people with valid concerns and real questions). Not the best place for the emotionally unstable to pose questions and ask for directions.
guess it's not the place for everyone. can'tsay i've had any real problems there - i just stick the idiots on ignore and they're gone. i don't think it suits everyone, but i've been here for (?) 4 years or so (will have to go look, lol) and know who is posting tongue in cheek over there and who are the real head cases.
i don't really visit the how to forum, tsotha, but take your point
i'm there, tristesse visits, bronze, harry's been over there too, i think, and angeline, even annie! plus Laurel (site owner) posts there regularly, cute kitties and funny stuff as well as knowing shedloads about makeup for the girlier girlsBah, I don't really mean anything by it. I'm sure there are interesting / fun people there. I mean, you're there, right?
I go in there on occasion, if I see something I can help with. Recently someone made a thread because "omg I did something with my mouse and now all the text is very small on my screen". Said person had "fixed" the problem by changing the screen resolution... I felt inclined to inform this person about how to reset the zoom in the browser...

ah, we've a techie thread there (GB) which i've made use of more than once... some girls and guys there really know their stuff.

hello *pats face*Harry sticks his face in your screen (hmmn) and winks
I've been maybe handful of times, but my preferences for non-writing oriented forums tend to run towards the SRP, Am-Pic, the Personals, and the Playground. (Much of the time the AH fits that category too, but it does have Authors' in its very name.)
I find it tended to be too much work to throw person after person on Ignore, so I usually just look for the names of people I've seen elsewhere and go read those individual threads.
apart from the screaming racists/trolls/i'm-an-expert-on everything-especially-politics types, the rest aren't bad at all. don't take yourself too seriously or any replies, wit and funny pics are appreciated, as are insightful, intelligent posts. you'll find some great classical music posts and hints for dinner, weather reports and shoes and various other, more sexually-related threads mouthbreathers, though, are asked to return to ampics in no uncertain terms!I've had my fair share of trolls and stalkers over the last 12 years.
There's not much the General Population could say that would get a rise out of me.

Let me bend your ear and tell you this
The GB is so full of vinegar and piss
We have in built bullshit detectors
And regulars who are frequent masturbators
You can't fuck with us and create a fuss
So stick your grenade in your recycle bin
I hope your head isn't in a total spin
We are the general board we have few rules
Nor do we take prisoners or tolerate fools
Get back to the poetry forum and say hi from us

I can, and will.
I pop into the GB a bit, as do Butters, Tristesse2, Bronze and Angeline (a rarer sighting). It's mostly harmless.
The GB has half a dozen resident loonies but I reckon there's more real malice on the AH than in the GB and in that case it is only a very few posters.

Ahh Ha HaI left Twitter because of supposedly free speech, it was wayyyyyyy too free for me!
Hiya backThank you for linking to this thread Debbie.
And thank you for quoting that poem, subdued
Hiya Poets!
...I can, and will.
Down the rabbit hole we go
Next stop: PoBo
You're quite right
Poesy's not our style
We're scary, perverse
But also versatile
Soooooooo,
Safe to say that
'fore we're booted out
We can ruin a verse,
or two, no doubt.
No doubt.
