Got the word on someone in the extended part of the family today: stage 4 cancer and the docs can do no more. Docs are predicting the end within about 3 weeks. Prayers for as peaceful and pain-free passing as possible would be appreciated.

*sigh - seems like I've been a frequent contributor to this thread lately*

My granny could use some prayers and positive thoughts. A few days ago, she had a mini-stroke that they think was caused by tiny clots. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and then released Tuesday evening. Last night, she fell and couldn't move anything on her left side. Thank God she didn't break anything, but she's back in the hospital for more tests. The pisser is that she's prone to internal bleeding, so the docs have to be very careful with the blood thinners that are used to treat the clots. Can't win for lose.

My son works in a job that has some risk of injury so this really got to me.

The roof is being replaced on my daughter's apartment building. One of the roofers fell off the roof yesterday and landed on her patio, at least a two story fall. He has serious head injuries and a broken collar bone.

One wrong move is all it takes. I wish him well.
