i copletely agree... but if i remember right, that's you in the picture with him... if that's the case, how did you come to meet him and what's the story behind the picture (where was it, what were you talking about, etc.)??
I'm not sure which image you remember, but none exists with Spence and me together. I've used a picture of Spence and Hepburn (a couple of different ones, actually) and one of just Spence standing in a corner, but that's it. I'm quite certain that I've never used an actual photograph of myself as an av here, though the rumor persists that someone once posted a pic of Sonny Bono that bore a striking resemblance to the yankster. I deny it flatly (which is fitting, as that's how Bono sang).

Question for all:

If you could wear only one color besides white or black, what would it be? Why do you prefer this color?

ah... i think that clears it up... i had a vague memory of you saying in a post once that it was you on the right (kneeling if i remember the image)... maybe i misinterpreted the comment or something. i learned everything i know about reading comprehension from eilan so you have to give me some latitude. ;)

purple... it's my favorite and it's "the color of royalty" as hawkeye said in M*A*S*H.

i have to say, however, that the color that suits me best is burgundy. i know nothing of fashion but i suppose it just works with my skin tone and hair color or something. no clue really... just that i get complimented when i wear it. *shrugs*

My favorite color is navy blue because it does interesting things to my eyes. I have been encouraged to wear different shades of green (and teal) lately...and it too changes my eye color too. :)

I can't narrow it down to just one!

Some shade of pink, from a very dark rose to the palest of pinks. Pink is a good color for me. But so is deep red. And teal blue. I'm sorry Yank, limiting it to one is just not possible. I very rarely even wear black or white.

my eyes do that too... they're sort of grey most of the time but change color with my clothes. maybe i'm part chameleon.

Yep, me too!

For the most part mine are a light blue but, in certain colors...or moods...they turn this aquamarine color. I wish they would stay like that always!

who needs a mood ring when you have eyes like ours??? it's technology at its finest i tell ya.

i think the bottom line is that eyes are fantastic things, whether they have brilliant color like yours ;) or simply allow someone to stare into them and exchange emotions without saying a word. the most important thing is to keep using them to look forward... mirror to the soul, window to the world, mine eyes have seen the glory and all that jazz... they're two of the greatest parts of a person's body... and you can use them to see all the truly wonderful things in life.

Very well said EJ! :)

Thank you :rose:

Hmmmmm...question: If you had to and could choose which of the five senses to loose...which would it be? Why?

this is remarkably easy for me. it would have to be sight and i'll explain why:

touch is self-explanatory... there are so many pleasures in life that are touch-related. yes, i'm thinking primarily of sex here (which i've heard is fantastic... and from the pictures i've seen i'm really interested in tryint it one day).

hearing is a must. i love music of many types. i absolutely couldn't go on without being able to hear a great song... or a great comedian. music, jokes, conversation all differ infintely. i love absorbing the cadence, timing and melodies in all their varieties.

taste is important to me because, while i'm not an epicure, i do enjoy a well prepared meal and want to taste all the different things in different combinations.

smell is a trigger for memories and contributes so much to one's emotional state. like erika's question from the otehr day we really derive so many feelings from a smell that it'd be hard to live without.

sight, while a tough call, i could live without if i had to. i've seen a lot and i know that there is variety in every leaf, every person, every everything... but i've seen all the colors, the plants, the animals, the landscape... i've seen everything i need to see. besides, the image of any given thing can lead to prejudices that are inaccurate and ruin perceptions... using the other four senses to draw conclusions really allows for more objectivity and honesty i believe.

Rainbow, hey it's a sherbet.

I would have said hearing until reading EJ's post... I give up taste before any others.

Somehow I think you must have remembered the text of the message better than the image itself, for that picture was of Spence and Katherine Hepburn taken during a rehearsal for Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." It was Hepburn on the right. :D

silverwhisper!

What with all the troutsmacking going on, I was wondering...

Do you use the same fish over and over, or do you use a new one every time?

;)

oddly enough, handfan asked me a related question back in post #777...

i generally prefer to use live, wild trout: the scales tend not to transfer to the target quite so much that way, i find. i change out trout as needed, and...

[pulls back trenchcoat]

...as you can see, i use a two-trout rig, with the holsters canted forward at a 30 degree angle to facilitate faster draws and more efficient smacking. i know it's popular in some circles to use holsters of ballistic nylon rather than leather, but what can i say, i'm an old school kinda guy. :>

so yeah, i'm on very good terms w/ my fishmonger. :>
