I think I might be in need of the healing powers of those magical lips...my "boo boo" is still with me. Apparently Hello Kitty wasn't enough for this one

MY Q: I am going to be on a spending spree...want to help me spend some money?

1. I NEED a new cell phone, the one I have is just a hunk of crap (and just over a year old) I'm stuck purchasing at cingular. Wondering if anyone has a Razr and how you like it? Or, any other suggestions for a new phone will be taken into consideration as well.

2. I have decided it is necessary for me to purchase cookware that actually matches. I'm still using the mismatched pieces from when I was in college. Any recommendations from the cooks out there for some decent (mid priced) cookware?

3. Have any of you applied window tinting to the windows in your home? Does it really cut down on heat?

Hmmmm...what else could I buy?! ;)

I just bought a new cell phone at the Sprint store a few weeks ago and so far I love it.

I've had a Farberware set of cookware for years and my mom's used hers since the 70s. I love mine and they've been easy to clean too.

my question kind of got rolled over with a shitload of posts... in case anyone didn't see it and can help, this is driving me nuts...

why, in "awakenings" was dr. oliver sachs' name changed to malcolm sayre even though sachs' book was credited at the beginning of the movie?

Snipped the screens question, though you may get some benefit from applied temporary tinting screens.

As for a phone, I got the Cingular 8125, which serves me very well as a phone, PDA (it uses Windows CE), and as a camera. The attached is a photo that I took using my phone when I was on the Monterey peninsula last spring. Note: this is a greatly reduced image, as the original is 1280X1024 pixels and nearly 3meg in size.

Cookware - hie thee to foodnetwork.com and learn from the pros. One hint that I picked up from Rachael Ray is to avoid buying pots and pans in sets because you end up with too many tiny pots. Instead, select a brand that you like, such as Calphalon, and pick and choose. It might make sense to buy a single starter set but after that add only specialty items. I bought a very good set of Calphalon from Bed, Bath & Beyond at a very reasonable price.

That pic is really nice quality. I couldn't hope to get that kind of quality from my camera phone.

On a side note...You wrote cookware. What I read was cockware. Tells ya where my mind is. ;)

Laughing at BG's comment...my mind might be on a cock...but I can still read...and you're right Yank about Calphalon. I think I'm the only one in the family that doesn't use it. My step Mom, in particular, swears by it and she's an excellent cook.

Gorgeous pic by the way.

Good idea about buying the cookware by the piece instead of a package. I don't really need a lot of pots and pans. I'm by no means a "cook" but, I do think it is time to upgrade from my 1 lrg & 1 sm frying pan, and only 2 pots, and nothing matches either! I will be checking out foodnetwork.com and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. There is one of those the next town over.

That phone did an excellent job and that is a fantastic picture. I hadn't thought about gettting a phone that was a pda as well. I will look into that. Does it sync with your computer well?

Sadly, I read what was there, oh whoa is me...where is my gutter brain? :(

PTM, the phone synchs up with Outlook using a simple usb cable (no cradle needed). I have also been able to use the phone as a wireless modem and gotten speeds of up to 921K connectivity.

And for all who complimented me on the pic, thanks very much. The real credit goes to the California coastline - that day of driving the coastline was one of the best days I've ever had.

I have a Treo650 - I sync it with my home computer. I don't use it for EMail, but do use the calendar, task, reminders, and other functions, as well as some really nifty add-on programs.

a smartphone like the treos has stellar syncing. i use the handspring visor deluxe. it's old now but it still works beautifully.

Then again, if you were....you would be about 80 and married.

*How devastating!*

Careful what you say there, young lady. Some of us who are well north of 40 still enjoy having a good time.

I just don't like to think of my neighbor's like that...almost as bad as thinking about my parents having a good time.

*creepy crawly feeling now*
