I am probably completely odd in that I don't menstruate at all. This is medically induced - I was on Depo-Provera for 5 years (which is 3 years longer than the max you're supposed to be on it, but they didn't know that then) and now I have been on NuvaRing for about half a year. You are not alone...although we are both willing, we have learned there are a couple of days which are not adviseable as it leads to needing masses of painkillers and still being in more pain than most endure. Diaphrams and cervical caps block the flow (they should if they are fitted properly and working properly). If menstrual blood is offensive then that would block it.

But I agree with you, my flow makes me feel a bit more icky than usual. Most of my cramps and complaints usually happen in the first day or so of my period. I am also very, very irregular the last few years, so when I have a period there is also a lot of endometrial lining that tends to just come out in clumps rather than a nice flow. Which really makes me feel icky and want to frequently shower.

My hormone fluctuations also seem to have become a trigger for my ideopathic urticaria with angio edema (translation: hives with welts) to act up, specifically around my eyes, so I am usually not feeling up to doing much of anything besides putting cold compresses on my eyes when I get home from work, and renewing my eye drop scripts for things like Patenol and Optivar.
