Dark cocolate will help with that. :D

Something needs to.

I'm fed up.

Life is sucky right now and not in a good way.

I'm thinking of going to bed right now and I'm a night owl usually.

Dark Chocolate has mood boosters and is good for you in moderation (http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/12-3-2005-83029.asp "Chocolate contains several essential trace elements such as iron, calcium, potassium, and vitamins A, B1, C, D, and E. Cocoa, from which chocolate is made, is the most potent natural source for magnesium, a mineral that is beneficial for the cardiovascular system. Magnesium deficiency has been linked with hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, joint problems, and PMS.")

B6 and E vitamins are also good. I would suggest since B6 is water soluble that a little extra if not needed get passed out of your system, while E is fat soluble meaning you will store it away rather than get rid of extra (not usually a problem but if you have sudden rapid weight lose all the extra stored in the fat could potentially re-enter your blood stream).

Some people do great with non-steroidal anti-inflamitories (Aspirin, Aleve, Naproxen). Maximum doseages (note, if you take more than one type at the same time, do not max them all out, treat them as the same drug and work with propotions. You shouldn't take more than 100% these together) Check out this. Don't take any of these dosages longer than 10 ays without talking to your doctor.

High dosages (per day):
Aspirin: 3000 mg (1000 x 3 times a day)
Ibuprofen: 3200 mg (800 x 4 times a day)
Naproxen: 1250 mg (divided up during the day)
Acetaminophen: 4000 mg (1000 mg x 4 times a day)

When I had dysmennorhea so bad I would double over in pain and throw up during my teenage years, I was prescribed Ponstel (prescription anti-prostaglandin) when it first came out. It worked great for me, but it doesn't work for everyone. YMMV. Basically the NSAIDs block a hormone receptor on smooth muscle.

Carbs aslo help me as well. Too much in fact... :nana:

Wow! Lot of great info!

And yes, I love carbs, even more than chocolate, a lot more.

I have my best orgasms on about day 3 and 4 of my period. I don't mind having sex and I suppose if he wanted to do oral I would be ok with it. Just don't kiss me afterwards! I do think doing it in the shower is one of the best ways to go.

Amen sister!

Not a girl of course but the ex wife, after the first time got to the point where she would ask for it on her period as just having me inside her helped relieve her cramps. Something about the heat and being stretched out according to her, not so sure about if the orgasm helped out any.

She had bad cramps though and also endometriosis.

The kindest thing a boy can do is fuck a girl 'on the rag'.
It DOES help.
Choc's good too...
Choc is ALWAYS good!

I understand.

I'm actually hoping I start soon while I'm already feeling like shit, might as well get that over too. The way I'm on edge today feels like PMS for sure.

Evening Primose Oil capsules work wonders. I took them religiously when I lived in Oz, but here I ration them as they are much more expensive. I also have been told if taken regularly over the years, they ward off the symptoms of menopause making it unnoticeable.

Jeopardy had a question recently that addressed this very issue. The question was; what was the first recognized medicinal remedy for the discomfort that comes form a woman’s monthly companion. It seems that Gin was created for just this purpose. As advances in treatment came about more and better liquids were concocted as improvements. Until recently it was believed that Cognac was the most effective medication. This is refuted in the latest edition of the NEJM. It seems that 4 out of 5 doctors surveyed recommend FF’s special brownies as the homeopathic therapy of choice.

Ya learn something new every day!

LOL!

You couldn't pay me to drink Gin.

Ick!

PS I haven't had a special brownie since I was in middle school and ate some of my rents brownies. Dammit.

Jeopardy had a question about menstruation??? Get out of town! I have watched that show for years, I have tried out twice (actually passed the test at a tryout a few months ago), and I haven't heard about a menstruation-related question before. Now THAT is something new I just learned about today!

It is only because you live in my home town that I tell you this.

I am pulling you leg.

My next line shows where i stand on the matter........

They don't shut down the circus just because the elephant has a nose bleed :p

How do lesbians cope with it?

My first relationship was a lesbian one.
Never really occured to us to avoid sex during the periods, that would have been silly. So yeah, oral and all, no problems.
Next was a man. He was surprised that I didn't have problems with having sex during my periods. He was very doubtful about oral, but couldn't really argue when I told him to "just do it, I've done it". :)

Yes, I always hated my periods too, now luckily since I've already had the kids, I can the hormone coil, so haven't had periods for six years now :D

Ahhhhahahahaa! You had hippies for parents?

*cracking up* That is so funny! You got stoned from your parents brownies. Wow. What a scene that might have been.

MOM: Honey, why don't you go and get that homework done before suppertime?

YOU: (Staring vacantly at wall. Innane giggle)

MOM: (getting concerned expression) Honey? What's wrong? (looks in cookie jar, face goes white) Oh, no...!

Not hippies, but yeah, they had brownies around.

*sighs*

I was more "adult" than they were.

*high-fives!*

I'm a little over six years without a period myself. SO much nicer. I would hate to go back to having them regularly!

i could not agree more. i suffer from extremely painful cramps, and could easily stay home in bed the first couple of days. i have found that Master is the best medicine that i have ever had.

If I can backtrack, it's not just an issue for dom/subs. Some people with no inclination in that direction can be very into having sex with girls on their period...the leadsinger of an unnamed band has such a thing about it that he won't let his girlfriends wash during their periods. Thats just gross
