Rating artwork

I have not had that sort of problem.
Guidelines here have "XXX" for size... riiiight. That still has not been updated.

They say they will resize your image

So, way back when I was uploading images, I used the bulletin board attachment spec's : Maximum files 100.0 KB and 800 pixels maximum Width by 600 pixels maximum height. ( formats: .bmp .jpg .jpe .jpeg .gif .png )

Obviously that's not a very large" or sharp image, but adequate.

After a long time not(06/23/2018 was the most "recent"), I uploaded a pair of drawings yesterday. we'll see if there are any issues.

(uploaded another just today, to see how quickly they are being processed)

(uploaded a third, Tuesday, February 25, 2020)

My art has gone completely invisible.

Umm... I can see your artwork fine. Maybe it's time to update your browser?

Likewise I can see multiple pictures for 29wordsforsnow, as well... I don't know.

Hmmm. I could see it a month ago, and haven't changed my browser. Yep, needs to be reported.

Anyone else who has or had problems with artworks including more than one image that were rejected because of 'broken files' or images that didn't go through to the server. As the images are shown in the sent back submission, I don't understand where the actual problem is. Does anyone have an idea if there is any other limitation pic size/file size that isn't mention in the info of the upload form?

It's now the second time for me that a multi-pic submission is rejected several times while some others went smoothly to publication in one go.

Thanks for any advice on this,

It's published and all pics are shown in legacy mode. My current guess is that I a high DPI resolution (150, 300) was the problem. Now 'scaled' to 75 it went through publication without hassle...
Rating is functional with Beta features active only, still.

Ok...all three (one was a two-fer) are now posted all at once, though submitted on different days (used the bulletin board file size guidelines). One has registered a vote, so it seems to be functioning.

wonkiness again.
with "Participate in early site feature versions beta-testing" selected (in profile settings) images will not load. De-selected, they will. (today, anayway)

submitted a "bug report"

Yes, wobbly beta bits. Somebody commented just the other day on some drawings I can no longer see, so at least the comments function works, but that was a bit odd. I suspect if I turned off Beta and went back to ye olde version I'd see them fine, but the Beta's better for written work, so I'll leave it be. It can only get fixed eventually, right?

Tested some different browsers, always with the same result: Beta version not showing the actual artwork/comic, but at least the rating is still working with beta features.

What I do is, using a private tab in the browser without logging in which will give you public legacy mode where you can see the illustrations, but use another tab, logged in to Lit, and leave a rating for the author's work.

yes, hopefully the bugs will be "sprayed". Ain't nobody gonna bother switching around or looking for ways to vote/comment and if in beta with no images, they may not come back.

Update:
received a response from Manu:

It should be fixed either tomorrow or early next week on the BETA pages.

The BETA page should show the images better in the future, since it will be responsive and better for mobile.

I know you're all REALLY excited! try and stay calm.

I am guessing that this fix will have images shown while participating in beta-testing, but maybe the voting and favoriting still won't function when not participating...?

If that is case, I hope folk participate. (takes a little effort to do so... by digging into your user profile and clicking a button and saving the change.

hmmm... it must be too "early next week", as this is Monday 1PM E.S.T. and still cannot see images while using the beta-testing" option.

After today's maintenance downtime, viewing and rating both work in beta - partially...multi-page 'stories' like Comics show the first page on every page. So, I hope you don't plan to submit a thirty-pics-comic in the next time...

Nevertheless, a thousand thanks, Manu!!! It's getting better with each update :)

Great! I had not yet checked today, 29wordsforsnow.

I am sure that votes will come pouring in now! heh heh...oh, yeah, folk still would have to switch to beta-testing to do that. Oh well, bit by bit, as you say, "better with each update"

OK. Now, if anyone is so motivated, you can SEE the images AND Vote (1-5 stars), Favorite and comment on works. You "simply" need to activate ("participate") in beta-testing.

"Up front" (not in the bulletin boards)
go to: Stories & Pics - original erotic stories, audio, & images
scroll down, but not too far to:
Erotic Art - Erotic artworks & illustrations. (under Illustration submissions)

or just go directly there:
https://www.literotica.com/c/erotic-art

Go to your own profile (may have to log in) and click on "options"
attachment.php

and THEN click on "My Options"
attachment.php

THEN near the bottom are the "yes" and "no" radio buttons to select participate in beta-testing. Select "Yes" Then Save Changes.
attachment.php

Now you can go browsing about
and hand out stars
and make comments
and favorite your favorites!

DOooooo it.

That got resolved as well. Time to us your two-dozen pics scenes...

Thanks for mentioning it, I didn't know it existed. I'm on the mobile app a lot and I don't think it's available on there.

poked around and see why the voting is so low. The interface isn't very good and there's no search feature.

The Hall of Fame is pointless.

Same problem with the comics section.

At least you can get to an artist's designs from the Stories tab on their author page.

yep. What you said.

REALLY needs a proper search function and categories (artists can and should put tags on their work) similar to those for stories (subject matter), but also techniques.

Once (assuming that it will happen) it is out of "Beta-testing" (been years now) and everyone can vote, then The Hall of Fame would have a point. Currently, the most votes registered is only 5 (for two images), hardly a large sample.

It's kinda funny — being the egomaniac that I am and constantly whining to get comments and votes, I got three votes on my most recent submission 5, 5 and 2 (a "dislike"). Those who are voting are those who have gone through all the "hoops" to figure out how to vote, and I reckon that image musta have really put someone off (but not quite enough to give it a 1..."hated it"), or... more likely... I put someone off.

it was the butt plug, wasn't it?

I did like it! - especially since it is one of your rarer ones done in colors.

Now that I've seen most in the EA category, I can state: yes, monochromes usually get more feedback and are higher rated, but mostly because it takes a master to master colors. So...feed our color receptors with some more multi-chromatic, THROBBS!

Thank you, 29*

Typically my erotic work is quick pencil drawings, for discretion and speed.
Mostly done for my amusement and hopefully for other's enjoyment (which in turn amuses me).

There are some full color up there (the Fox, Dancer, corset, and gypsy) and a few with limited color (day dream believer)

The Fox Hunt has three votes (the most I have received is 4 votes), it has the lowest average score (because of a "2" /dislike vote). it is possible that many people are voting, but unaware that their votes are not being recorded — unless they make the effort to enable the "participate in beta-testing" feature.

I agree that color does tend to elicit more favorable responses, but in this case I suspect that either the subject matter, the execution and/or the artist off set any appeal (for one voter, at least). Can't please everyone. And I know I can annoy many!:)

No (obvious) progress there.

There's a proliferation of "Cookies and cream"!

Not to my my tastes.
I wrassle with voting down imagery like those, or the "DAZ"/"Poser" stuff, some of which is "pretty good" (for what it is).

Categorizing by medium would be helpful. I could simply avoid those like scat stories.
