you forgot the copy write in the forum it reads 1998- 2013

Who are you asking?

You should send a PM to manu.

If manu is no longer, I believe that someone is handling his account.
I really think that is the least of the concerns of the owners, as this is a free site.

I just found it funny that after I mentioned the copy write of the main literotica.com it was changed very quickly. someone was paying attention to the thread.

Just looked down to the bottom of this page - copyright 1998 - 2013 Literotica Online. Not an annual thing, then ;).

Well, this is funny/ironic or sumthin'

I've yapping to get more views, and votes (that count) and favorites and comments, and as part of that effort I've been monitoring those stats.

Today I noted that a couple of my images which had the most votes,6...hahhahaha SIX! pitiful, now have 5 and the ave scores are lower...so either someone retracted their votes (I suppose that can be done, I never tried) or administration did some "Sweep". Now keep in mind that I had voted for my own with a 5 (well duh ;) ), and I don't really mind if mine is removed, as it was done as a test. I'll have to see if VERY image went down, which may be a clue.

Perhaps in a few years it will work.

********
update:

alrighty.

Checked from a prior stats download from 8-25-2020...and it seems that 8 images lost a vote each (affecting scores of 6...downward) and 4 images have gained a vote each (affecting scores of 2... upward).

I am guessing that someone (someones?, likely one person) has retracted their votes on 6 pieces. Which is extra interesting — I suppose they have learned something about visual arts, themselves...or ME  heh heh. I would think that it is most likely my annoying behavior that provoked the retraction.

Lucky one, I stopped counting the fives taken, some more Manic Mondays and I'll be down to nothing

So what is the logic or system that 5's are swept? Those 5's are coming from fake accounts?

I can see that happening now and again, I suppose.

All I know, it seems to be cruel logic. Together with the usual 1*-vote that comes for whatever reaches HOT status it did more damage than it helped. *shrug* Better to learn to love also the small numbers :)

"the small numbers"
My Precious! :D

Also curious:
I noted that within my own profile, under "works" I can sort by
"rating"... I don't understand how they are ranked.
I would think that 5 ranks higher than a 4, etc. naturally.

and one would guess that of two items with ratings of 5, that the one with more votes would rank higher.... hmmm... that does not seem to hold true.
SO... how much do views, favorites, comments weigh in the ranking system?

Here's the top chunk of mine, sorted by rating:
I would have thunk that "Feel like... HUGE" would be at the top
4 votes of 5stars and 3 favorites and 6.4K views..., right? Instead is 4th on the list.

I don't see any obvious metric.

I got comments. I asked in the description if they like the color or black and white better. I guess people do stop to read not just gaze.

Well, there's a tip! Poke 'em a bit to engage them.:)

Did you get votes? (keeping in mind that they, along with comments, do not appear immediately)

Comments can be made regardless of participating in beta testing, but votes only count when beta-ing. Getting comments does represent some impact, in that they had to make a bit of effort. The effort required to make a vote count is not obvious, they may have clicked on the stars and thought they voted. It would be better if the stars were not even visible until they functioned.

At least in the official 'Top dog'-list in each category the date of the last vote does matter, so recently rated artworks are ranked higher than those with older but the same average.

I have a few votes too. An yes 5 is higher than 4. I have a 4.33 on one.

I noticed that ChicaMuyOcupada has left LIT, and she was a recent commenter and voter on my images. Her comments remain, but her name is no longer attached to those comments. I bet that is what happened to those 5's. It would seem that votes need to be associated to a valid/current LITster.

Fascinating. And a bit of a bummer for several reasons.:( :)

I can acknowledge this, with a member leaving a number of votes went on different works.

once a vote is cast it should stay or is it just a hanging chad

I reckon that some of the times, The user is discovered to be bogus (or an alias) and therefore should not count. Those are supposed to be cleared via periodic "sweeps".

I think, in this instance, chica was a legit and unique ID. I could be wrong. It is also possible that she had changed her mind and requested that her votes be rescinded.

I feel pretty sure that it was automated.

you can vote without logging in cant you. I have put down stars for stories that I enjoyed. or don't they count but it shows up like your vote registered. unllike on IMDB where you have to be logged in to vote and it tells you to log in.

That is not clear (to me). FOR IMAGES. Voting for STORIES has been working for ages.

It seems that the only votes that count (stick) are those made by those who are logged in AND have enabled the beta testing via their profiles.

The voting stars will be visible, and you can click on them, but I am quite sure that they are not saved/registered or calculated into averages.

I could try a test (it won't be conclusive) by logging out, finding an image and making a vote and see if it affects the score. The calculation of votes is delayed and see score/votes ratio is only visible for one's own work or those in the top 100.

I just tried it for art. i logged out went to my newest post and voted 5 stars of course no bias there. Logged back in and went to my dashboard and no vote registered. then went to the post and there was nothing there. But you can click on the stars and they light up and say thanks. so all this time i have voted not logged in, years we are talking and nothing ever counted.
