Rating artwork

Well, there are some pearls among the recently published works too.

And, looking on the whole category - spent the first quarter of 2020 to go through and leave ratings. Hope, others will as well to make it more representative - there are, certainly, some jewels to find among the more than 3000 illustrations.

But, yes, some do more quantity than quality, and I must agree that disliking (2 stars) is something that's not easily done, mostly because it doesn't say anything about why one dislikes - or even worse - hate an artwork. A comment might help to give an idea what to improve.

What I found less attractive in 3D renders is that quite a lot don't include any facial expression. No emotion in high definition to me is more creepy than sexy, sorry to say.

Woohoo, people do vote if they are given the opportunity...

There's already 5 'HOT' artworks in the top list - hopefully it's full with HOTness by the end of the year.

So on behalf of every one - THANKS for leaving votes and comments, people.

oh?
Has something changed?
Or, just finally enough to get to that point?

I'm not clear on what factors make a work "Hot".
Those 5 are under 5.0 (just) and are not necessarily the most favorited, or most commented on (though comments can be both positive and negative).

edit:
Exploring further, it appears that the Hot H is for those works that have 10 (or more votes... 4.0 or higher...?)

10 votes and 4.5 or higher, depending on the category it needs also 50 or 100 votes to appear in the top list, well not yet in Artworks :)

Would be nice if it would be out of "beta testing" (it's been ten years) so those who think they are voting actually are. And folk won't be going back to vote.

Still going nowhere f̶a̶s̶t̶ s--l--o--w.

There are a handful of folk who are using the BETA feature AND voting. The most votes than any image has is 16. I managed to get 6 on one of mine.

Eventually LIT may have voting enabled as the default, but (as noted before) any old images will be lost to history.

Without feedback, there isn't much point in posting.

Happily, I did manage to get some thoughtful comments.

I had to write a plea on card board and stand on the corner to make that happen, but sometimes one has to advocate for one's self.

Dear all,

I took a stroll through Literotica's artwork category and was bewildered that there is so many good artwork not rated. Is that a new feature to artwork or is there some unwritten rule to not rate in that category - which, of course, I did :D

For example there was some really good artwork published in 2011 with >100k views but not a single rating. How's that?

So, dear reader, if you come across something you like, please, leave a rating. Authors and artists really appreciate any feedback. Thanks, hugs & kisses

29*

I now consider it my duty to go through them all and rate them

For more people to view we need a next button when viewing art. That way you can just jump to next in the line up. the current in and out of posts is not conducive to viewing art work. When sorting images on the computer it is either the right arrow or the space bar depending on the app much easier. More people may view the art if the navigation is better. Art needs the easier way. just my 2 cents worth. I'm new to participating but not new to the site.

So true.

Perhaps that is part of the hold up (with getting out of "beta") — the logistics.

It is rather cumbersome.

A decision of just what come "next" would have to be made. chronological from all postings? Newest 1st.
Highest ranked (assuming ranking ever really worked) and on down....?
at least using "next" within one illustrators submissions might be minimally helpful — If you liked one, you might want to continue. If you didn't, then you could "exit" to someone else...

Certainly thumbnails would be helpful.

I was thinking chronological on the incoming art and the ability to go to an artist and view all their work.

Both would be very helpful.

If you ever get to an artist's bio, you can find a list of their submissions, but...no "next" or slide show type function. IF a submission has multiple images and you double click on one, you can use the arrow keys to scroll through those. baby steps. :)

did not know that..thanks for info..

Do you have and example of a submission with multiple images. I thought you could only upload one at a time.

EW!

heh heh. yep, that's an example.
It can be a bit confusing (surprise!) to upload multiple images, including writing descriptions...I've done a bunch and still forget how they will be appearing.

Here's one with SIX  images... showing the progress of the image.
Apparently you click on one image (not double click, as I had posted before. oops) then can run through them.

Nice work by the way. I have always been a photographer then got into daz3D. its a virtual world to play with. All the lighting control you could ever want. I still shoot but never had the opportunity to shoot erotica. not many do. I'm working on some renders of an older woman of non porn star caliber. I read someone lamenting about all the 3D stuff looks like porn stars. I will try the multi upload then.

Thanks.

That sound refreshing. I think that the DAZ renders appear somewhat "robotic" or "synthetic", because...well, they ARE. The technology is getting better, but it isn't West World by any stretch. There are a handful of artists that have the skill, software and eye to "soften" or humanize the renders.

I have been working on just that how to give it warmth and feeling and atmosphere.
Noobie question does the forum time you out and you have to log back in or is it firefox doing something odd.

hmmmm...
May depend on your browser. I'm not certain. It seems, that on Chrome, I have not been logged out unless I intentionally do so. Pretty sure.

I have other questions nothing too personal for public do I start another thread or do I PM you. just let this thread deal

You can PM if you like (I don't know everything, but I sure act like it!:D )

and/or post a thread if the questions seem applicable/interesting to other folk. There's even a How to forum if it's that sort of question.

Ok had long chat with my computer guy. ( My son deg. Comp eng.) first thing he said when I had him look at the site check the copy right. 1998-2012. is the software that old. and he thought the interface was extremely poor for the art. (After he got the nipples out of his eyes). I warned him. He said there is so much room for improvements all the way around the website which he is going to poke around so to speak. The art has a bunch of different options. There are Java script thumbnail/ viewers for galleries FREE code.

yep.

I imagine that it is running on "inertia" and perhaps it would be too big a hassle for them to change software. maybe?
