Second annual Crime and Punishment story event - the 2024 Story Event Official Support Thread

That was a bit of a sprint, but I got my story for this one done. A 17k word heist story; definitely the longest I've written here and definitely something different. It was a good time for sure.

I gave it my best shot but the story I was working on isn't going to be ready in time for the 20th.

I'm going to set it aside for a bit to work on my Halloween and Winter Holidays entries. Hopefully I can submit it right around Christmas and New Year's, after I've fixed everything that's wrong with it.

Life is so random. Last night I was putting the final touches on my first story in ages, and in-between edits popped over to AH for the first time in a while, and randomly spotted this thread. Hmm, just so happens my story is about a stagecoach robbery...

I almost feel guilty being in company with folks who have been planning for this challenge since January. But what the heck - kismet!

Nothing wrong with that at all. I've done that with the Pink Orchid Challenge.

I love the concept of this challenge (thanks, @soflabbwlvr).

My entry last year did well, but for this year I just could not get my idea for a cat burglar story off the ground. So much too late I gave up and came up with something different that took only one day to write. Funny how banging your head against the wall rattles loose better ideas sometimes.

I suspect I submitted it one minute too late, but we'll see. If the story doesn't show up in the official story list, at least it'll be there in spirit.

Lit needs a "cat burglar" story about someone who actually goes around stealing felines.

Mine was a few hours late. I have my fingers crossed that it might still make the list. It has worked out that way before.

Um, yes?

The first post in this thread says the 23rd, but the official list of Author Organized Challenges for this year says the 25th. Looks like that was last year's date, though.
It looks like I may have used both dates in two different places when setting this up. Laurel went with the 25th, so 2 more days. This should work out better for the last minute and post last minute submitters like myself.

Thanks muchly for clearing that up.

Yay... there's still hope for my little last minute story (which is still sitting in Pending). Edit: just now approved. Will go live tomorrow morning.

I belive that non-erotic is the slowest category on the site. Oh, well, I'm happy with how my entry is doing.

Good to know, thanks. I was starting to fuss that the list was going to go up before mine published.
