September Film Challenge 🎬

Day 27: Your favorite superhero film
So many choices come to mind. Every other Marvel movie is pretty incredible. Winter Soldier, Iron Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy come to mind immediately as favorites. And that last Spider-Man movie was something special. I'm going to challenge myself here and pick something that's not Marvel. Then again there are some gems there too. Not picking Tim Burton's Batman feels downright weird. But this pick is special. It got me started on my love of superheroes and comic books. And Reeve made a huge impression on me. His Superman could crack the world to pieces if he wanted to, but he helps people and let's them know he's a friend. He's powerful yet kind and will earn your trust. That's what people should be.

Now, with my Oscar presentation speech out of the way, I give you my favorite superhero movie.

This or 2 (Terence Stamp classes up anything he’s in) were my other options. Ultimately I like Spider-Man a bit more than Supes, but this movie oh man…so good.

That is a awesome movie, I agree. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
It was definitely evident that it was directed by a woman. The shots she fought to keep in the film, like her thigh shaking when she hit the ground, were the ones I loved most. Many guys I know hated it because it wasn't the Wonder Woman they liked; a pin up girl with huge tits that happened to kick ass. Well, the film wasn't for them, it was for every little girl who wanted to be a warrior, not an object.

Day 27 Your favorite superhero film

Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

I grew up on Three Days of the Condor, which was a massive influence on this film, including the reason that Robert Redford ended up in it. Great storyline, great cast, and the best fight scenes in the MCU. And it led to some of the best Marvel Television episodes ever. I was watching Agents of SHIELD one night, binging it. It was about 10 PM, and I was watching the last episode for the night. The show was okay, but I was watching it pretty sporadically. The last episode I was going to watch was Season 1, Episode 17, "Turn, Turn, Turn." It tied in to Winter Soldier. Jaw dropped. I ended up watching about the next ten hours back to back.

I like the MCU, but it hasn't been as good to me since this movie. Well, that and Agent Carter...
