sex in your writing: protected or unprotected?

But we're all adults here, right?
Right?
Freedom!

Honestly, some of the Haters around here don't act like adults. They seem to just live to lowball the scores on any story they don't like AND all the posts of that story's author. They don't understand "live and let live"; no, they feel they must impose their standards on everyone else.

If you feel the need to mention protection every time your characters fuck, I presume you always mention them brushing their teeth before and visiting the toilet after as well. Your characters are doing a lot of things that don't need to be mentioned everytime they do it.

This is the reason I don't like a lot of novels: A bunch of details I don't want to read. If someone is eating something delicious or something interesting like that, and it adds to the atmosphere of the piece, fine.

Otherwise, I'm with you! Leave the technical details to the tech manuals!

ESPECIALLY in poetry. Every time I read a technical term, no matter how "flowery" in somebody's prose I die a little inside.

You two might want to wander over to the Story Feedback file and look through the post on "Disappointments." You'll find that a lot of posters here believe you are obligated to just roll over for vigilante unsolicited negative comment. They don't recognize your right just to post stories for fun here and to be left alone to do that as you please.
