kdawgaz..... I'm not a lover of snakes but always photograph if I can. In this album are more wildlife pics around where I live. Like right where I live. Like in and on my house!

A few snakes, one of which was on my kitchen floor. I walked in there in the am and omg...about died! But it was a Sonoran Gopher Snake and not dangerous. In fact, they are good snakes.

I photographed a bobcat walking through my neighbor's yard. I could see it over the wall. He saw me too!

A tarantula that was on the wall of one house.

Not sure what kind of snake the long beige one was but it was caught under the garage door and floor. He was dead when we found it. Maybe an Arizona Glossy Snake, Sonoran Night Snake, Painted Desert Glossy or not!

April had her baby! OMG!!!! So adorable!

I walked on the other side of the nature trail last night. Didn't run into any wild life, human or otherwise!

I bought tomato and jalapeño plants yesterday. Mine are looking pretty sad. However, they gave me a good crop over the winter. I used to have a large garden in the midwest but out here is so difficult to grow things. I have tomatoes, peppers and mint growing in very large pots.

I do best with heirloom tomatoes. Although, this is the first time I've seen Roma tomato plants so trying that.

Off to plant!

In one photo, I'm sitting on a huge petrified wood. We actually have a petrified forest in AZ. I wonder if there has ever been a naked ass on that piece of wood? lol

In another, I'm standing next to long wood pieces. That is actually the skeleton of a saguaro cactus.

It is a federal offense to damage or destroy a saguaro. I've heard the fines can be upwards of $45,000. If a builder wants to build a subdivision or even a house, he must tag, register and transplant every saguaro and some others that I can't remember. They won't get a CO until they are replanted and all accounted for.

I bet you didn't realize that besides naked boobies, you'd learn things!

Well, not great news about my mom. She is back in the hospital for the second time this month. She has congestive heart failure. She also has stage 4 kidney disease. Her kidneys need fluids but her heart does not. So she cut back (obviously too much) on fluids, got dehydrated and ended up in the hospital on Saturday.

She needs a procedure to replace a valve but can't have regular surgery. So KU Med center does this procedure going through the groin. She is seeing a doc next week to determine if she is even a candidate for the surgery.

So my sis told me this morning that without the procedure, Mom has about a year to live. With the procedure, about 5 years.

They are trying to find the balance of fluids so it doesn't over work her heart, yet be enough for her kidneys.

Prayers are appreciated.

Good morning,

My mom is going home today. She sees the surgeon at KU Med next week to determine if she is a candidate for the surgery.

Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts. They mean more than you can ever know.

I walked 4.5 miles late yesterday afternoon. As I was getting towards the end of the nature walk, it was still light but the sun was setting.

The part of the path I was on was near a deep wash. All of a sudden, I heard coyotes howling. I didn't see them but they were down in the wash. They howl when they catch dinner! lol

Holy shit! Scared me again! I tried to get video on camera going to record sound but it was over fast. I did pick up a large rock (8x8) and carried it. I don't think they attack though.

Got some gorgeous pics of the setting sun. One reason I love Arizona!

Off to walk now. We are meeting friends for happy hour so can't walk tonight.
