Hi everyone!

Well, not great news about my mom. She is back in the hospital for the second time this month. She has congestive heart failure. She also has stage 4 kidney disease. Her kidneys need fluids but her heart does not. So she cut back (obviously too much) on fluids, got dehydrated and ended up in the hospital on Saturday.

She needs a procedure to replace a valve but can't have regular surgery. So KU Med center does this procedure going through the groin. She is seeing a doc next week to determine if she is even a candidate for the surgery.

So my sis told me this morning that without the procedure, Mom has about a year to live. With the procedure, about 5 years.

They are trying to find the balance of fluids so it doesn't over work her heart, yet be enough for her kidneys.

Prayers are appreciated.

My mom is going home today. She sees the surgeon at KU Med next week to determine if she is a candidate for the surgery.

Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts. They mean more than you can ever know.

I walked 4.5 miles late yesterday afternoon. As I was getting towards the end of the nature walk, it was still light but the sun was setting.

The part of the path I was on was near a deep wash. All of a sudden, I heard coyotes howling. I didn't see them but they were down in the wash. They howl when they catch dinner! lol

Holy shit! Scared me again! I tried to get video on camera going to record sound but it was over fast. I did pick up a large rock (8x8) and carried it. I don't think they attack though.

Got some gorgeous pics of the setting sun. One reason I love Arizona!

Off to walk now. We are meeting friends for happy hour so can't walk tonight.

I took a bunch of pics yesterday am. I walked 10,000 in the morning. Then I soaked my tired feet in the pool. I stepped thigh high in the water and it was too chilly! Felt good on my feet though!

I also saw 4 black hawk helicopters. I was taking a photo and a plane looked like it was going to crash into one! I'm sure they were far apart but from the ground it looked close! Then another plane appeared.

Then closer to home, I saw 3 more flying above me. We frequently see planes from Luke Air Force base flying.

I'm surprised the black hawks didn't fly a bit lower and take their own photos of you. Forces pin up girl.

I live close to where there used to be a radio listening base, operated by the US military in conjunction with our RAF. We used to get regular high speed jet fighters fly just above tree height in the fields behind us, trying to sneak in under radar to 'attack' the base. I had a mate who worked as a civilian in the base, and he said about 50% of the time, the jets would fly over the base just as the alarm went off. Too bloody late if it had been a real attack. Base is now closed and demolished.

I have more, but mainly about the US service men/women but not in a good light. Let's just say I had on Sergeant returned to the US with a dishonourable discharge. He rented a house next to mine, and his behaviour upset us and his commanding officer. Wouldn't be fair to elaborate.

The base is now a housing complex. De militarised.
