Yikes.. I'm glad there's no black widows where I live.. I'd freak out. I got bad arachnophobia. This was the Black Widow spider that lived outside our garage last summer. My son named her Fifi.
Great shots as always Fflow. I'm quite fond of the third one. Here's a few pix:

Here's my addition for the week.. Bloody school's been taking up my picture time.![]()
Couldn't resist taking a picture of this lovely creature. It kept following me, so I took it as a hint that it wanted to be a model for my pictures.
Sorry for the spammage![]()
I just am stopping by to show my support to the lit art community. I hope that everyone is doing good. I have not looked at the works, and i may not for a while. When you think life has taken you down as far as you can go with out cracking, it somehow finds a way to kick you when your down.
I will subscribe, but i may not post for a while.
I am glad to see some of the old members here sharing though.
SRW, thanks for starting this.
Chainzz miss ya man, hope its doing good for you.
Peace out everyone
Your shots are breath-taking.
I've never seen a spider like that before. If you don't mind my asking, what part of the world do you live in? Do you know what kind of spider it is?
The mantis is beautiful, too.
Thank you for the kind compliment, but I've never really thought of them that way! Just a side hobby.
That is a sub-species of a jewel spider. They come in all shapes and sizes; I've attached another that was a short-term resident in my garden (though not a very good photo).
The mantis was an interesting subject. I have many photos of him and he was almost performing for me, even with a lens less than two or three inches away.
I live in Atlanta.
Thanks again for the kind words.....
Here's a macro hellebore, one of my favorite seasonal flowers...and the spent bloom of a coneflower.
I've enjoyed your landscape photos upthread.
An unemployed associate asked me for a glowing letter of reference...
You have a cruel sense of humor...I love it.![]()
And the funny thing was that, shortly after sharing my letter with her, she got a job!
