Shaving

I too can't use Magic...

Guess the chemicals.... I am sensitive in some ways.

I use a Venus razor. Just wish the blade refills weren't so expensive. I have also found for me, the best way to shave is dry.

I am waiting for the sounds of horror....

I can see and feel what I am doing, I get less irritation than when I used a gel, or shaving cream... I do get smooth....

I don't apply lotion right away. I will shower after shaving. I use body wash and then apply lotion all over...

It works for me.

I was shaving regularly and using the Mach 3 razor and a shaving gel and I never get ingrown hairs... But I also use a hair growth inhibitor called Surgi-Hair Stop.

Lately I have taken up waxing and plucking... I just wax and then clean up with the tweezers...

I can go for 3 to 4 weeks before I have to do it again...

I have a question.

Doesn't the hair have to grow out for a bit before you can do it again?

How would I still be smooth after say 2 weeks?

Yes it does have to grow out a bit... about a half inch or so... as for how smooth you would be after 2 weeks... it depends on your hair... but when you wax and the hair grows back it is much softer and smoother than when you shave and if you use an inhibitor it takes much longer to grow back... I just happen to have very course body hair... and very thick... so I might have to do it more often than say someone who has very fine body that grows slowly...

Many people swear by the Magic... but it burns my skin for some reason and doesn't disolve the hair... so for me it is either shaving or waxing...

I've plucked too, for the long-term benefits, but working my way down to my labia was just not forthcoming, it's fine for the upper bits only.

LOL...yes, it is a bit of a challenge and not recommended if very tired, mind elsewhere, or under the influence.:)

OUCH! I can't even stand to pluck my eyebrows... I get them waxed, so it is over with all at once. But then... I don't deal well with pain. I am a wuss.

Nah, Job was a wuss.

The way this year has gone thus far, i can't wait for winter to get here.

Pain's the body's way of telling you, "Hey idiot, here's a limit you might not want to cross."

As for shaving ... the Russians, never the Koreans.

Interestingly, i have sensitive skin and the regular formula works better for me.

Here are a couple of Magic threads, i'm of the opinion that i'll never buy another razor as long as they keep making Magic.

It is good, isn't it? I think that the best way for someone who reacts to chemicals is to use a skin test first.

I know some folks who use that Nads stuff, but I have not heard any feedback.

Don't waste your money... The Nads sucks... It is messy, painful, and it doesn't work well. I just threw away 3/4 of a jar full- couldn't get my money back cause I lost the sales slip.

Lmao... Thanks AA... Now I have another reason to avoid spankings! I was running out, you know. :D

Read again, Lady ... the operative word is might.

Sometimes, pain keeps the uncertain away, and for others, provides a trial, or obstacle to get through to a goal.

What is it for you?

Scaredy cat that I am, I suppose it is the first. Though I did manage to get my nipples pierced, and that hurt like hell. :D

Good Lord woman ... think you might have jumped in the deep end, or what?

A spanking, a gentle one for the sake of argument, can't compare to that piercing, nor the aftershocks for the next few days.

BTW ... did you pick out your topiary subject yet?

niteshade, I have a question for you. How long did it take for the nipple piercings to heal? So that you could play and change the jewelry?

Lol... that is possible, but I had done lots of research, and heard that the benefits where worth it. Now, if I could just convince myself that spanking is the same....

As for my topiary subject, I will assume you are asking what I am gonna use the magic on....

That would be everything, aside from my eyebrows and the mane of hair on my head. I hate body hair... yucky.

:) ... no, more a pun ... shaping a bush into different recognizeable figures, animals, etc.

It hasn't even been a month yet.. they haven't healed enough to allow for the jewlery to be changed, but I think I am ok to start playing (gentle damnit, gentle!) The entire healing process will take about a year, but I should be able to start playing a little rougher after about 4 months.

Are you thinking of getting yours done?

Hmmmm... well, I wonder if I could manage to let it grow out, and then shape it into a heart or a star. That would be kinda cute.

No I'm not. :)

A friend of mine on another thread, actually two of them had them done and they had mentioned it would take about 4 months...

I've tried waxing... I'm too clutzy. It works but you have to wait for the hair to grow back a bit before waxing again, therefore you aren't smooth.

I've done some plucking. It hurts far less than plucking your eyebrows.

I have some Magic and have done a test. I don't react to it and am working up the courage to use it.

Until I work up the courage to try the Magic, I will continue with my Mach 3 razor and Neutrogena razor defense gel. I have a problem with ingrown hairs but it seems to be improving now that I'm exfoliating routinely. I've tried using the neosporin ointment, it helps some but not completely.

I want my nipples pierced but hate the thoughts of waiting 4 months before we can play with them.

Wow, I find the opposite, though it is more regional and not all over that is painful, and must admit I only pluck eyebrows perhaps once every 5 years if that and find it painless for me. LOL.

Am oh so ready for the pierced nipples but am waiting until Master decides it is the right time for us. I suggested doing them seperately so there woiuld be one to play with, but last I heard he had dcided both at once.

Funny how our pain receptors work.

Love the results I get with Surgi-wax, especially since there is no irritation. Just microwave the wax, spread a small area, let cool and peel off quickly. I've been able to re-do after three weeks, or about 1/4 inch of growth. Still use a razor on the delicate parts, lol.

If it were my choice, I wouldn't shave any more. ;)
Edit: I like the results of wax so much more - especially in hot weather, where the irritation from shaving seems to worsen.

Do you think the growth inhibitor helps at all? I haven't see in anywhere yet.

I just started using the Schick Intuition shavers. It is the one that has the skin conditioning solid around the blades. I use the one for sensitive skin as I have VERY sensitive skin. So far I have been very impressed with the results. I get a very close shave.

Will have to try the lotions that help slow regrowth. Mine grows very rapidly, I don't really want to have to shave EVERY day anymore.

Oh and be very careful with the spot test on Magic, or any other chemical hair remover. I found the worst spot to get burned.
