Sia's Cozy Abode

*She's just full of backup plans it seems. Now she's got a pillow the size of both the ones he has, and he narrowly dodges her swing, whirling both his plush weapons in alternating arcs, trying to swat her pillow down, then catch her in the chest with the follow-through.*

*Long fucking day kept her way from the fun, but now she pops back into her persona. Oh yes, back up plans are her forte or running and sometimes foolishly fighting not accepting defeat. She is rather disappointed that he was able dodge her swing, but that's OK! He is partially successful swatting her pillow out of the way and her arm is grazed. She lets out a mock squeak and grins.*

Catch me if you can!

*Darting to the right she opens the sliding glass door leading to the study and pops inside partially closing the door behind to slow him down then jogs through the study to the hallway, laughing and at the end is a door. She pushes it open to the back patio and runs up the stony path into the hedge lined garden. Hiding behind a large tree in the center, she waits.*

*She moves swiftly and it takes some effort to try and keep up, swinging through doors and dashing through what would be a lovely study to read in if he had the time for such things. Now, he has to find her. She's gone off into a hedgerow maze of sorts it seems. Cautious steps carry him into the entrance. His eyes dart from left to right in an attempt to spot her before she springs her expected sneak attack*

*It is difficult to stifles her giggles because she really is having too much fun. This pillow fight could go down in the epic of fights of pillows! Pressing her back against the tree trunk she listens for him, waiting for any spec of a noise due to dry leaves or fallen branches. The pillow is still firmly grasped by both hands and held against her body, yet is still at a good angle to attack.*

*He's trying very hard to be quiet, but the damned leaves make that difficult. One false step toward the tree she's hidden by is announced with a loud crackle. He curses his luck silently and readies himself for an attack, crouching low and peeking around the wide trunk of the tree*

*Thank you nature! Hearing the crack she knows he's close, very close. Gripping her pillow she turns her head to look carefully around the tree careful not to show too much of her head in the quick peek. Catching a glimpse she firms her grip and steps out from the tree from the opposite side and with a battle cry she swings at his side.*

*Too fast. She pegs him in the side with her pillow and he nearly whacks right into the tree she'd been hiding behind. He catches his footing inches from it, looking to swing in retaliation, aiming for her left thigh. Maybe if he can get her to tip to the side a bit, he can get the upper hand...*

*This is often the problem with close combat while one opponent swings they leave themselves open for attack if they don't retreat or cover themselves quick enough. A giggle bubbles from her lips as the pillow gives him a sound whack and it seems one whack deserves another because one of his pillows comes in contact with her thigh, hard. It is enough to toss her off balance and send her falling against the tree trunk. A small wince of pain as the rough bark scrapes against her shoulder she narrows her eyes and pushes from the tree with pillow in hand. Taking a few steps backwards to give them some distance she stares him down and still unwilling to yield. Bouncing on the balls of her feet she tries to decide what's next? Swinging the pillow up and around she makes way to connect with his side.*

*His goal is achieved, but she recovers too quickly for him to take advantage. His dual wielding stance allows him to deflect her first strike, landing another on her side, right on the ribcage. He closes the distance, tossing his pillows. Time to take the upper hand by force. Strong fingers grasp her pillow, tugging at it, dragging her closer. If she doesn't let go, she'll be in his clutches. Either way, he feel victory within reach*

*She can feel that she is losing ground he was landing hits more often. This last one against her ribs stings causing her to recoil with two steps back still clutching the pillow close. Drawing a breath she watches as he tosses his pillows to ground, feeling confused she stares and then she feels the tug forward. She stumbles not willing to give up the pillow, but quickly realizes this may have been a mistake. Looking up at him with a sheepish grin fingers release the pillow and takes a backwards, holding her hands up in surrender. As feisty as she can be she cannot match him in strength.*

Alright....alright... *soft sigh, partial giggle* I concede.

*so focused he was on tugging her pillow that when she let go, his momentum sent him backward, landing on his butt at the base of the tree. He laughed heartily, remaining seated*

Well good. I knew I'd win eventually.

*He grins up at her, still breathing a little heavily*

*She watches him lose balance and topple backwards to fall on his ass, a burst of laughter from her sounds as she shakes her head and rolls her eyes. Taking a few steps forward she extends her hand offering help.* You may have won this round, but don't think I won't ask for a rematch.

*He takes her offered hand, regaining his balance and still laughing.*

I'd expect nothing less. This is a nice place you've got here. Very....cozy.

*Giving a good pull as one foot steps back she helps him stand and smiles.* Thanks I'm rather attached to my little place and hope people who come through feel at home.

*Dusting her hands off on her thighs she leans down to pick up the pillows hugging them all in a bundle. Bumping her hip against his as she passes and starts to follow the path down to the house.* If you don't need to run off let me offer you a victory drink and we can toast by the pool.

I'd like that a lot.

*He smirks at the little hip check, following her down the path with a spring in his step.*

Great! *she smiles as he agrees to hang around for a little longer and leads him down the path back to the house the way they had run only a few minutes prior. Down the hallway to the living room she dumps the pillows on the couch.*

Don't forget to grab yours on the way out. *she looks over her shoulder and smiles.* What's your poison? I have a little everything... beer, wine, whiskey, vodka, rum, tequila and mixers.

*She's already headed to the kitchen and straight to the liquor cabinet when it suddenly dawns on her that she should have a bar area both in and outside, hmm...renovations begin to plot.*

I'll remember. Whiskey sour would be great, thanks.

*He follows her to the kitchen, leaning against the counter on one arm* So, tell me a little more about yourself. I like learning new things.

*nods idly as she reaches into the cabinet to pull out a bottle of Jack and proceeds to cut up two large lemons to squeeze into a metal shaker, adds a tablespoon of sugar and four fingers of whiskey.*

I'm not very good talking about myself... not at random ... we need a subject. Anything you curious about?

"Grabbing a glass from the cupboard she adds ice and then covers the shaker, a few good shakes then pours the contents into the glass. She slides it over her way before reaching for the vodka to make herself a vodka tonic with lime. Nodding her head to the side she signals him to follow her out of the house to the deck and poolside. Kicking off her sandals she sits down at the edge and dips her feet into the pool. Taking a sip of the drink she then holds the glass in her lap.*

*He takes his drink and follows her lead, having to set it aside for a moment to get rid of both shoes and socks, plopping down next to her to enjoy a good foot soak.*

Well, I know a few things about you...like where you live and the type of music you like. How about your job? What do you do? I'm a tech support rep for a cellphone company. I get to answer calls all day about peoples inability to use their equipment.

*He chuckles at the double entendre, sipping his drink casually*

*She laughs at the joke while swaying her legs in the water she stares down at her feet and sips at her drink every now and then.*

Work... I'm in publishing, magazines... I work on well... a variety and probably more come Tuesday. There was a huge layoff in my department...half of us gone, but I don't believe any magazines were folded, so now more workload will fall on those of left.

*sighs softly, shrugs* I'm adaptable, but I would be lying if I wasn't worried. Still, glad I survived and will work another day.

*lifts the glass for another sip* And now that was depressing.... plans for the weekend?

That sounds like an interesting job. I'm glad you're still employed. As for the weekend, I work Saturdays so my weekend is rarely fun or exciting. This weekend though a couple friends and I are going to a renaissance festival. It's my first time, so I'm excited to go.

*His drink is nearly half finished; he sets it down so he doesn't drink it too quickly, eyes following the lines of her leg up from ankle to thigh, continuing up to her face.*

So how about you? Any fun things on your agenda?

*swirling the glass in her hand she clinks the ice cubes around before taking another sip and sighing softly. Feeling his eyes on her she smiles a little then takes another drink, nodding* A Renaissance Festival, fun. I hope you have a good time. We have a big one out here every spring they just celebrated 50 yrs this last one and it's a blast. I've been going for the last ten years... I dress up and everything.

*smiling a little bigger then hides it with another drink.* My plans.... nothing terribly exciting. I'm going to help a friend move today. She doesn't live far and her new place is only a three miles away from me. Our daughters are super good friends, so that's how we became friends... later today I'm off to one of my best girlfriend's home to keep her company. I'm sure we'll have wine and food that we shouldn't be eating. I'm going to feel like an extra hundred pounds tomorrow... *laughs softly*

The rest of the weekend is up in the air... we'll how it goes... I have a couple of owed posts. I'd like to take advantage of a long weekend to write a bit.

Sounds like a good time. I wish I got a long weekend. They've got me working Monday, my normal day off. Holiday pay isn't really with t to me so I'm not looking forward to it. They gave me Wednesday off instead next week. Not looking forward to it. But I do have a Halestorm concert to go to on next Friday. It's what I'm clinging to as a bright spot.

*He takes his drink back up, taking a big gulp. The ice is starting to melt and mess with the mix. Best to finish it before that happens.*

*nods, finishing off most of her drink and splashing in the water with her feet.* That does suck days off at random like that doesn't really break up the work week the way it should, but the Halestorm concert should definitely be fun. My brother says they're good live.

*Noticing his drink is nearly empty she playfully splashes a bit of water at his legs* Would you like me to make you another?

*He smirks at her, splashing her legs in return. He polishes off his drink, smiling at her offer. He sets his glass closer to her should she decide to refresh their beverages.*

Only if you're headed that way. You know, I wish I'd've brought some swim trunks. I haven't gone swimming in...well, its been too long.
