Since most of my friends are on this forum...

Well just get Mr. Beach to double up his dosing of the wee blue and mustard colored pills to make up the difference.

That's how medicine works right? ;)
Em! Is that you? SEXXXXXXYYYYYYYY! *grooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwllllll*

Medicine - better living through chemistry. If one works well, two will work twice as well!

*disclaimer: That is NOT true! I do not believe that nor do I endorse the practice. Please take medicine only as directed by the label or your physician."

I can't stand only having half of a piece of information. The doc yesterday said it was vasospasm vs esophageal spasms. He couldn't be sure which. I worked in GI for a ton of years, so I texted one of my GI friends (a doc) this morning with questions. The short version of his answers is that there's no way to know for certain if my chest pain is esophageal vs vasoconstriction.

The good news is that the meds that the cardiologist gave me yesterday work well for esophageal spasm. Whether it's esophageal or my coronary arteries, the med should work equally well.

The interesting thing - I had an eye appointment today. The eye doctor was extremely interested to note that the arteries in my eyes are also constricted. I'm wondering if it's a systemic thing, and maybe that's why my blood pressure shoots so high. She also said that the new medicine will help that problem as well.

The next month or so will be interesting.

And I now have the answer to the nitro headache question. Yes. It does cause a nitro headache. ugh. Guess I'll try taking it at night tomorrow.

She has an adequate bosom. :D

And I still have the damn headache. I heard sex cures headaches.

***another disclaimer*** Real sex - not cyber-sex. Any unsolicited PMs will result in the PM promptly being posted in the PM Asshattery thread then deleted.

It's been an interesting couple of days.

My cardiologist caught me at work yesterday to tell me that he needed to apologize. He was starting to wonder if there was really nothing wrong with me at all and that maybe I was just wimping it up. He suddenly got a very stressful bomb dropped in his lap, then he started having the same symptoms I was having - minus the SVT. He said after it was over, the first thought in his head was about me, and that stress-induced chest pain is, indeed, a bitch.

So this morning, I went to my old hospital for my blood draw. Of course, while I was there, I had to stop in to visit my old coworkers. When I told a couple of the nurse anesthetists exactly how low my potassium had gotten, one of them whistled and said, "Good God! That's DANGEROUS!"

It is? Damn. I didn't know that! Nah, I couldn't be snarky with him if I tried. I told him our plan to stop the electrolyte insanity, and he thinks we're on the right track. I'll find out in the next few days how my potassium is looking now.

although the obvious answer is pills--and i've been on them--i prefer bananas, honestly. are those not an option?

ed

My K+ was too low for bananas. I was taking 40mEq of potassium twice a day and it still wasn't enough. I've had to do IV potassium replacement a few times. Normal K+ is in the neighborhood of 3.5-5.5. They prefer to keep it between 4 and 5. Mine got down to 1.8 at the lowest. That's fucking dangerous as hell.

I think we're on the right track to fixing it though. Instead of adding pills, we're taking them away - at my suggestion. *gasp* Yeah, it takes a nurse to think of something like that.

YAY! I have good news to report! My K+ from yesterday came back.

Drum roll please!

4.0

:D :D :D :D

Maybe I can get off this goddamned nitro soon.

It's time to resurrect this thread and let y'all know what's going on.

I moved out a couple of weeks ago (2 weeks ago today, as a matter of fact). Hubby and I are splitting up. I'm pretty sure the tension I've been under played a starring role in my chest pain, and the cardiologist agrees. (The doc growled at me yesterday when he saw me drinking my 2nd venti Starbucks of the morning, but he had the good sense not to bitch at me. It was a rough day, I was in a take no fucking prisoners mood, and it apparently showed on my face.)

We hope that we can begin the weaning process in a couple of months and try to get me off all of these cardiac meds. I've had a couple of episodes of chest pain since I moved out, but nothing major.

Y'all, I'm at peace. It's a good place to be. I'm happy and content, and I'm more relaxed than I have been in years.

You've all been amazing friends, support, and shoulders to cry on during this long and crazy journey. I hope our journey can be one of joking, laughter, and drunken posts from here on out. Wait, what am I saying? That's what it's been all along! Whale foreskin, bat peni, and BBCs. This thread didn't drift; it's a fucking maze!

Seriously, I love you guys. You *are* the Royal Family as Rainy so aptly put it in another thread.

OH Oh and oh!

I'm glad you have found peace - :rose:

Big hug to you.

Glad to hear things with the ticker and chest are getting better. Sounds like stress played a role, so take it easy for a while and see how things go.
We all could probably use a little less stress in our lives...

I'm happy to hear you are happy. It is never an easy thing when a relationship draws to a close, and I hope things go as smooth and as good as one can expect in these situations, for both of you.

Now lets see where this thread takes us...the asinine, the candid, the bizarre, and even the wee peni of winged mammals could show up.

It will be a fun ride I'm sure.

What's been going on with you? I saw that you were in the hospital... Please tell me my Aussie counterparts were good to you.
