Spare Ticket for a Meatloaf Concert

Ladybird..I am sure in agreeance with you. I have seen him live 6 times now and due to see him again on July 6 - I have a spare tickert if you fancy flying from Oz!- and I remember all six concerts vividly.
How I wish he and Jim would get back for another album though and how I wish Meat and Bonnie Tyler would have a concert together, signing nothing but Steinman songs..now THAT would be an awesome concert, but I don't think it will ever happen, sadly. There wouldn't be "A Dry Eye In THe House" ;)

Ukin I can't believe that you still have that ticket. If I could afford the airfare (would I need accomodation?) I'd be there in a flash.

With Australia being so far away, we don't get access to as many great artists as you do in America. And when they do come here, often ticket prices are very high.

You talk about Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler. I'd like to see him with Bette Midler. I loved her singing 'Beast of Burden' with Mick Jagger, and I think she'd do justice to any of Meatloafs songs too. She's a pretty raunchy lady.

What a lovely thing to say.. thank you Ukin.

And I've just noticed that you're only a few posts away from Guru status. Would you like to post to and fro with me until you have your 500 posts?

How ddid I happen to live in America? Well, I got to the age of 50...and I decided that I'd had enough of the cold and the wet (I do love the wet mind you-but not the rain ;))..so I cam e to CA May last year, decided I liked it and managed to secure a work permit and now I am here for good. The weather is wonderul, teh people so nice.

I am from Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, but spent 25 years in the Army and then 10 years in Yorkshire - Batley.

Any other questions? ;)

My goodness, what a big move.

25 years in the army is a long time. Why did you leave?

What type of work are you doing now?

Well, I joined at the age of 15 and served until I was 40. The contract is for 22 years adult service only, we are only allowed to serve until the age of 40, unless one wishes to become an Officer, which I didn't. I hate cucumber sandwiches and Gine & Tonics lol

At the moment, I am trying to set up and establish my own business, bookkeeping, taxation and Notary Publc, but tis slow and I am busily applying for other jobs too. Life goes on so they say ;)

And you?

Me? I've never been in the army.. ;)

I'm a 5th generation Aussie, which means I'm descended from the original settlers here. Thats something that I'm very proud of.

I'm separated, and live on my own.

I have worked most of my life. A good part of it in a bank. I was a Lending Officer there when I left. I enjoyed the work, but not the pressure.

I don't work anymore, I have a disability that makes it difficult. I recieve a pension from the Government. It's not much, but enough.

Enough to pay for my ISP at least.. lol

How have you found Americans acceptance of your nationality? They seem to like us Aussies, is it the same with the English?

It appears that the Americans like both the Aussies and the English..In fact, a lot think I am an Aussie..because they find it difficult to seperate the two accents....although I find that hard to understand, but then I guess we outside of the USA are far more experienced and hear a lot more accents than they do.

Sorry to hear about the disablity....but pleased to see it's not in the Av department! (Yeah, yeah...I know..perverted mind I have)

Hey... I happen to love perverted minds!

Nah.. I have Bipolar Disorder, and I don't tolerate stress all that well. That's all. The bod is in fine working order. LOL

Do you miss England? It must be very different where you are now to what you're used to.

Was it hard to settle in there?

Glad to know the bod is fit and well...must admit they look fine to me;)

I miss England for the Pub life. Tha Americans have NO idea about the social scene, the meetings etc..it's all damn pool tables. Nowhere to go for a nice quiet drink like we can in the UK and no doubt Australia too. The bars are always to far away to walk too and when you get there, its all pool tables! Well, where I am it is lol... I also miss the English Sports channels (Sky Sports) and the soaps and watching TV without a commercial break every 5 minutes! Apart from that...I LOVE it here and cannot see me going back to the UK.

It has to be hard to settle in there honey ;)

Oh shit..you emant settle in the USA? Nahhhh...not for me..I am not easily fazed by moving..hell I had 25 years of it! I can mix well and not afraid to talk to people....

Yayyyy...500 up
