Spirit song: the elven wanderer finally has a home.

Having finished his song he set the instrument aside and reached for her. His hand covered hers. Slender fingers twined with hers. It was a silent request for contact. Emotions seemed to be chasing themselves across his face. So many. He seemed in need but couldn’t even vocalize it. He turned toward her finally, green eyes wet from his emotions. “So many changes in the last year. I can never thank you enough for being a part of that Kitten,” His words were soft, filled with gratitude the words alone could never convey. “I love you,” he whispered that last as his free hand reached up to cup her cheek.

She sat listening to his song. She knew he was grieving and wanted to give him that space to feel, to express himself. She listened, curled up beside him. Tears pricked her eyes as she let the song wash over her.

As the final notes died on the wind they sat in silence. When he reached for her, she moved closer, let her hand rest naturally in his. She leaned in and closed the distance, letting her lips ind his. "I love you as well, my sweet elf."

Her kiss was soft and sweet, gentle and welcoming. Her words brought a smile to his lips. It didn’t matter how often he heard that it would never get old. He slid his arm around her shoulder tucking her against him, hand lacing with hers.

His hand slid up her back into her hair. “Thank you for being here with me, I know I’ve said that before, but I really value it. I know this was new for you to join me here and it has been wonderful for me to have you here.

He reached up and let his fingers caress her cheek, letting her hand go for a moment. He smiled at the feel of her soft skin. The air, the water was beautiful and sharing that with her was even better.

"New is not bad, just different and I will be where you need me." She pressed tight against him. "It is beautiful here and a place for you to be open and express yourself. I am honoured to be allowed into that space."

She lifted her chin and take a deep breath. "It smells of blooms and summer." She opened her eyes. "I would very much like it if you would play more music for us." She looked up at him.

he smiled at her words. "You make me feel special," he told her. He followed her example taking a deep breath. "Yes, you are right it does smell wonderful."

As she pressed close he strokked over her back. "More music," he mused."This song is not the most played song on my phone, simply for the reason that I adore the original and piano versions almost as much with both of them being in my top 5 most played songs. Should I combine their plays it would by far be the most frequently played song on my phone."

He gave her one last squeeze and then took his arm back for the guitar. He did not pull away though, He kept her close. This may have allowed his arm to graze along her breast has he played, but he didn't mind, he hoped she did not either.

Holed up forever
Inside the winter of your dream
Light the fire
Take back the loss of revelry
Dark days devour
Removes the light from everything
Crack the window
Pull back the shade and let it rise
Let it rise
And you'll find
That the sun will free your mind
Take the shell of a man
Put some faith in his hand
Come on out of the hiding
Whereever you go
You should know
We're the ones you call your own
All the pain and love
The grenades and drugs
Yeah we're all in the fire

I'll wait for you if you believe
In the fire rising
Tomorrow burn your suffering
And the sun will rise again

Self served destruction
State of complete emergency
Medicated
Shut down the world outside and run
Let him run
From the sun
Far away from everyone
Where the grace of a man
Turns to dust in his hands
Come on out of the hiding
Whereever you go
You should know
We're the ones you call your own
All the pain and love
The grenades and drugs
Yeah we're all in the fire

I'll wait for you if you believe
In the fire rising
Tomorrow burn your suffering
And the sun will rise again
And the sun will rise again

And your eyes open wide to the sky
And you finally decide not to lay down and die
Ride with the tide you believe you can fly
Then you soar out of your mind

I'll wait for you if you believe
In the fire rising
Tomorrow burn your suffering
And the sun will rise again
Again
Again
And the sun will rise again
Again
Again
The sun will rise again

Fire Rising by Redline Chemistry

He smiled. "The bridge of this song is especially powerful for me." he said looking over at her.

"I can see that. You put a lot of emotion behind it when you sing it. Thank you for sharing that with me."

She turned a little, pulling up one leg and facing him so she could watch him play. "Another, if you do not mind terribly. There is a lot that can be learned of a person through their music choices and I am enjoying your singing and playing."

He smiled at her. "Thank you. It means so much to me to be able to share some of this stuff with you. Music talks to me so much. This next song I rediscovered in the depths of the darkness last week. Though I am in a somewhat better place this week, it has still been on my mind. I almost posted it last week on the day in question, I just never got around to it." he shrugged.

He took a deep breath and then went into the next song

I fade to black
As I search for the light
Can you bring me back
From this unconscious life?
Can you show me the way?
I'm lost in the dark
I'm falling apart
Can you unbreak my heart?

So I can breathe
Before I suffocate
Before it's all too late
Before I die this way
I need to breathe
Before I slip away
While there's something left to save
Can you help me?
I need to breathe

I hear the angels calling
Can you send one down?
I see the demons crawling
They're everywhere around
Can you pull me out
From the mess I'm in?
Before my lungs collapse
And there's no turning back?

I need to breathe
Before I suffocate
Before it's all too late
Before I die this way
I need to breathe
Before I slip away
While there's something left to save
Can you help me?
I need to breathe
I need to breathe

Can you hear me? I'm screaming
I'm broken down, I'm bleeding
Help me make it through
I need you

I fade to black
As I search for the light
Can you bring me back
From this unconscious life?

Breathe
Before I suffocate
Before it's all too late
Before I die this way
I need to breathe
Before I slip away
While there's something left to save
Can you help me?

I need to breathe, before I slip away (can you rescue me)
I need to breathe, before it's all too late (can you rescue me)
I need to breathe, before I die this way (can you rescue me)
I need to breathe, I need to, I need to (can you rescue me)
I need to breathe

Through Fire -- Breathe

he took a deep breath as he finished the song and let his eyes seek out hers. "It helped pull me out of the darkness." he whispered finally.

She closed her eyes and listened to him sing. She inhaled deeply, feeling the emotions in his singing, in his song choice.

When he finished she opened her eyes and leaned in, kissing his cheek. "I can see why. Thank you for sharing it with me."

She stood and held out a hand. "Walk with me a little. The air is nice and I need to move a little."

Her fingers slipped between his so she held his hand.

He willingly laced fingers with her as he too stood, his guitar being set aside as they walked. The sun was shining as they slipped off the patio and down the path towards the water. The elf was contemplative. There were so many changes that occurred in his life in the past week, one in particular. He knew he would have to process it more further. There wasn't a single song that came to mind but perhaps he could find one. He smiled at her, his Lily, his kitten. She had been with him throughout this entire process and he truly could never thank her enough. What she had done for him was so wonderful.

He lead her until they could splash along in the shallows. "I want to feel my toes in the sand on the beach. I feel the need for it's revival. Will you join me?" he asked with a smile.

"Of course. I enjoy the beach and the water greatly. I enjoy your company." She smiled back at him. She held his hand as they walked.

A lot had happened in his life and she was glad this place was there for him to come to, to unwind and breathe. She knew it was a haven for him. She was truly honoured to occupy space here.

"It is a nice day. Sunny..the summer felt so short. Soon the first flakes of snow will fall." She smiled. "I don't mind the cold though."

"I was never a fan of the cold," he told her as he slid his thumb back and forth over her skin, just enjoying their connection. "Though cold gives us an excuse to cuddle under blankets." he smirked at her. So much change was affecting him in his real life, that he had not allowed himself space to come here in too long. He had thought about it, but just not given himself time to do so. Her healing presence was something he found he needed.

As they walked along the river and out onto the beach he stopped, turning to gather her into his arms. He pressed his chin to the top of her head as he tucked her in against him. "Let me stop to hold you a moment. That's important to me. I have not forgotten, but somewhat lost sight of how much I am cared for by people like you. I want to take a moment right here on this beautiful beach and remind myself." His hands slid through her hair as he spoke, as he held her. "Thank you for all you do for me. I don't ever want to take our connection for granted, it is a gift that I am so grateful to have. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head as he held her to him.

"Very true. Cuddling under blankets is a perk of the cold." She walked with him.

There was a comfortable silence for a time and when he pulled her into his arms she happily yielded. "Whatever you wish. When we get busy it is hard to remember or get the time for the little, pleasurable things. It happens, you will find a routine once more." She smiled up at him. "You are welcome though I don't think I do a great deal. I do not feel it is taken for granted."

She hugged him back tightly.

He stood hugging her, his fingers stroked her hair. So much was happening in his life so quickly. He fought the emotions boiling and bubbling inside him. She was a stone in the raging waters of his life, something he could count on. “I am glad,” he told her softly. “Thank you for being here with me.”

He took a deep breath, I wonder if I could ignore the real world for a moment. I’d like to escape here, play together, laugh, enjoy our time at the beach.

He pulled back and took her hand, “Lets start small at least,” he said and lead her to the edge of the water. “It was close to a year ago that you joined me here, right here on this beach.” He told her as they splashed through the shallows.

"You are welcome." She kept hugging him. "You will find the time here when you can. This is a place without expectations."

She smiled and laced their fingers as they walked. "Almost a year? I would have never realized." She kicked the water splashing it out in front of them. "I rarely think of time passing. So much happens in so little time and so little can happen in a great deal of time." She shrugged a little. "I am still honoured to be here regardless of the length of time."

He smiles at her watching her splash as they walk, the ripples of the water. “You’re right time can be deceiving sometimes. It’s hard to believe how long I’ve known you now in general, does not feel that long. I am so glad we met. I can still remember reading that first story of yours I found, something in it spoke to me in your writing and I reached out to you, now, I can honestly say I’ve not had a writing partner like you before. With you I may actually finish my first ever srp here on lit.” He gives her hand a squeeze.

“I’ve been taking work home mentally this week, hoping to stop that soon, it seems so hard to do this week. That is usually something I’m good at.”

"Letting work stay at work can be very hard. Especially if things are hectic or stressful. It carries over. You can only do what you can. I hope you get to let it go soon." She squeezed his hand back.

"I am glad you reached out though it definitely doesn't feel that long ago and yet, it does in a good way." She shrugged. "Time is a strange and funny thing."

“It feels difficult imagining my life without you in it.” He smiled lifting a hand to her cheek. He pressed close turning into her and kissing her softly.

“You know,,” he told her after he broke the kiss, “I think of you every time I hear white waters by Epica.”

She kissed him back. "I am happy to hear that. Better than being tied to something like...row, row, row your boat." She laughed. "In seriousness, I appreciate that as I know music is very important to you with links to emotions and memories."

She kissed his hand.

He snorted at her joke. “You could be I guess… I don’t make a habbit of listening to row row row your boat. Come think of it, when I think of that one, I think of the scene where they’re teaching spock to sing in star trek the new fronteer.” He laughs. “You’re right though,” he siles, “They are so tied to memories and emotions for me so definitely a compliment. I’ve actually been trying to reclaim some of my music that have had tough memories or once good memories with others, found that was the case with a song by otherwise the other day. I still have some of the nastalgic thoughts but it didn’t want to make me cry. I’ll call it progress.”

He traced her lips with his thumb as she kissed his hand. “You’re so wonderful. Shall we swim?” He asked.

"That is progress. You taking back the things you enjoy without letting it consume you." She nodded. "I would love to swim."

Without pretence she stripped down and began walking into the water. "Coming?" She said with a smile as she looked over her shoulder at him.

“I’m hoping I get to soon,” he teased at her question. His eyes were following her every movement. Her body enticed him, made him want more. “God you’re sexy,” he told her as he too shed his clothes and joined her in the water, sliding his arms around her from behind.

The sun caressed their skins and he took a deep breath of the air loving this moment.

"Cute." She moved deeper into the water and then dipped under to wet her hair. She emerged as he joined her. "Thank you." She pressed back, leaning against him.

"This is nice. Just us and the water." Her head went back on his shoulder.

“It is very nice,” he agreed. As she leaned back he pressed his cheek to hers, feeling her hair brushing his skin. He kissed down along her neck. “The sun feels so good, warming.” He murmered as he tasted the salt on her skin.

Eventually he pulled back to dip under the water himself. “So, how goes your writing?” He asked curiously smiling at her.

"It goes, but you know that of course." She laughed softly and lowered herself to her shoulders, floating. "I get to things when I can. Life...and all that."

She laid back and floated there, eyes closed.

“Yeah, neither of us get to it as often as we’d like. I’ll be honest I’ve done a few posts lately on my phone because I don’t have the opportunity to get out my computer. I don’t always have the ability to spell check as much when I do, but sometimes it just allows me to get a reply out.” He smiled reaching for her hand. “You are a very talented writing partner, and very worth the wait, though you never make me wait long, believe it’s me that makes you wait more often than not.”

He lifted her hand to his lips kissing it softly.
