I actually know one guy named Sven! I have NEVER met anyone named Inga though.

Hm, I read German for 5 years. Don't remember much! Spanish for 2 years and know nada.

I know both Inga and Sven. Niether are Swedish, but German and Canadian. I also know a James, a George, a Pierre, a Lucy and a Manuela. Very Swedish, fifth generation, at least.

For example, Lauren speaks in some kind of Portugese about reciting a poem in a foreign language, leaving us wondering what it's about and whether it moves her; what might be required for us to move her that way.
Closer, but not quite there yet. And what do you mean, 'some kind' of Portuguese? :p

And Damppanties (I LOVE that name by the way) has confused the fuck out of me. There appears to be several different languages in one there!

Only one language. A translation for you, Lewd dude -

So when everyone is talking in weird languages, then why not me! *shrugs* Did anyone understand? Hello! Is there anyone here who understood this??? :p

I was thinking of submitting in the language for my Survivor requirements, but I don't know. What's the use if no one is going to understand it? :(

I knew it wasn't Italian, and although it looked Spanish there were some words that certainly weren't Spanish. I briefly thought it was Esperanto, so I copied it into an Esperanto translator and got nothing. Then Portugese dawned on me and I tried that, but still some words did not translate. I figured perhaps Portugese has dialects, and this was a dialect not part of the main lexicon. I don't know if I really want to know what it says, Lauren. I agree with Lewd. It's sexier the way it is, because we can imagine it says whatever we want it to say.

It's proper Portuguese, I just threw in a couple of contractions and a word or two of street jargon to confuse those translators even further. :)

Ah, now that prompted me to discover where Lusitânia is. Now I understand. Having never been to Portugal, only Spain, I only associated Lusitânia with a sunken ship. When I read Letters from Pohjola for some reason I associated you with the Baltic region, and concluded you were Lithuanian, although it always confused me because Pohjola certainly seemed to come from the Alagarve.

Good God people, I go away for half an evening and you all run riot on me.

*Adopts scouse accent* "Calm down, calm down!"

GARY:

No you can't eat MG's Av, it's a picture for chrissake!

Plus you have to slaughter it and cook it first!:D

Sven for me, conjures up images of clean cut young Blonde Swedish boys, the sort you see in gay porn.

Not that I've..............................

Shit, perhaps I shouldn't have said that!

Black Tulip:

So it was Dutch then. That's cool. There just seemed, as I think Gary might have said, some Germanic substance there. I've not noticed that in Dutch before. By the way, what do you call your language? Assuming you are Dutch, or Nederlander, judging by your passion.

Rhino Bloke:

Yep, that's pretty much what happened to me.

And as for:

*Sighs deeply, contentedly!*

You know who you are!

:rose:

Lauren:

Oh yes please! I do do a good ass kicking!:D

Icingsugar:

Put the camera away, this is private!

Damppanties: *giggle*

I just LOVE that name! It brings on images of, well, Damp Panties!

Thanks for the translation.

I will always berate myself for not doing more with language than I have. Now that, is definitely MY loss!

Good morning to you all!

Ah,

NOT the reply I was expecting or hoping for.

Sorry to be just one other "band wagon jumper!"

But I suppose, if you're gonna go with a name like that, you're gonna have to put up with the smut!

Or RUDEness!:D

I'm feeling randy tonight, and all the women I know are either thousands of miles away, in hospital, six sheets to the wind or entertaining their wretched husbands. Went to SRP but there was no response there. Then it dawned on me a virtual bartender is, well...virtual. I thought he was just a quiet type or had me on ignore. I've heard of talking with an imaginary friend, but that was just plain silly. So I thought I'd drop in here and see what's happening before I get so desperate I go to to chat.
