Good morning Punkin... :)

Isn't it strange how these sorts of things bring out the very best in some people, and the very worst in others. The deal down in New Orleans did that, stuff that made your heart swell with pride, and other things that made you cringe with embarassment... "...damn guys, the world is watching..."

It is very true what you say there. Setting aside the big money that the State, the EU and several large firms are giving, what's really touching is the offers from individuals. From small kids offering a few euros, to an old man who said he can't drive any more, so he donates his car. Thousands of individuals from all over the country and from abroad stepping up to give what little they can.

Another thing you must keep in mind is that there are no large cities in the area. The Peloponnese mountains are dotted by hundreds of villages, some of them very tiny. Which means that people mostly know each other and the bonds between them are much stronger than in a big city.

Morning Blooze :)

RhymeFairy, thank you. It was a hard blow to all of us, whether directly affected by the fires or not. Thinking that there's cold brain(s) out there who aim at lives in order to attain more money/power/influence... well, it's unsettling to say the least.

Say no more, I completely understand. :rose: ((((( Ran ))))) Again, I am sorry your having such a difficult time. I respect you and think your very brave to be so * on top of it all * when it seems as if your life and the lives of your friends, family, neighbors ... are boardering on hell.

Unfortunately there are others who wish to attain nothing more than the very breathe we take. All we can do is be honest, brave and stand tall. Let'm know we do not bend and we shall not only walk, but run again ...

*Slips in beside RF*

Good Morning Family

Beams: Glad to hear you'll soon be on the road. Just remember to not get too excited and take it easy. Holiday weekend drivers are NUTS!!

I'd love to be in that car myself. but I'm reminded of my Great Grandfather who REALLY left town riding shotgun. He hated his neighbors and others in the town so much that he drove down the road and took out all the streetlights with his shotgun as he drove.

Well I'll leave you guys with a song that for some reason has been going through my head lately.

Not yet... :)

Haven't been in a naming type of situation. Actually, haven't replaced the strings on it yet. Other life issues keep popping up.

And naps. Can't seem to get enough of them. I have little discussions. I could this, or I could that, and I should do the other, or... I could just take a nap. The Nap usually wins out.

I need a nap...

LOL I think we've all felt like that at times. Life just seems to come at us all at once. You get pulled in so many directions at once it just wears you out.

*Wraps his arms around RF and settles in*

Then you get older and you can sit back and relax
One of the reasons why, given the chance, I'd never want to go back to my twenties... late thirties maybe, that's as far back as I would go :D

Well considering the amount of "energy" you most likely expended during your twenties I can see why you aren't eager to revisit them. You'd be worn out before you knew it. ;)

I think I did that part better in the 30's too. Energy, while a very neat tool, is not the be all and end all of the party. There is something to be said for knowing a few tricks as well...

Uh, oh... lost my mind there for a minute.

Got an email from the Beamer Unit.

Evening Chief....me and D spent last night in Cleveland...tonight we are in Indiana with my sister and her family...

We we will be here until sometime Tuesday and then drive maybe 5 hours or so and then get a room for the night and continue on to KC on Wednesday...Hey we are not as young as we used to be so we both get stiff after driving for a few hours...LOL..

Miss you all....tell the family that I am well

Mav is in Charlotte this week-end helping his MoM...

Well anyways love to you all....

Our little gal has all her possibles packed on the wagon and is a headed West.

Let's see here,

Coffee's on, check

Table cleared, sugar, cream, and "pink stuff" set out, check

Open new bottle of Bacardi Gold, check

open box of a assorted breakfast rolls, check

sit down, enjoy the first cup of the day, and wonder where in middle America Beam is shaking off the last remenants of sleep while Blooze is crashing his Ferrai though the barricade at Belle Isle.

Morning Everyone! sit down and have some marmelade with your toast,....and yes, I should have really carried the butter over after I got dressed, but I was running sort of late.

****

Sorry I missed everybody this morning. I woke up this morning around 3:30 with a theory bangin' around in my head about a way to reverse engineer the weight bias of the cars in the Forza racing game...

Uh, here... this is where I been this morning.

http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/permalink/805062/907009/ShowThread.aspx#907009

So, what kind of a lady do you think would tolerate a guy getting up around 3:30 and clanking and racing in the office down the hall, and every once in a while blurting out "hot damn!" or a disgusted "shit!"?

Yep, right. There was only one. I think I am destined to finish this trail on my own... ;)

I hope you are all having a good day. I am up against some chores that will no longer tolerate just being thought about...

:) $

Fuck...

You'll never believe what just happened. Was watching the news tonight, and they posted a bulletin for our area, said to seek cover as they were expecting micro-burst winds. Which is about the time I heard the wind pick up. Ran outside to fold the umbrella on the picnic table, then ran over to take down the day tent I had put up when a microburst wind ripped through the back yard. Was standing just under the cover of the hot tub when I heard the crack, (thought it was a lightening strike) ducked, and felt the tree come down nearly on top of me. Tossed me like I was nothing against the fence.

I no longer have a hot tub. :(

Holy Shit

I'm sorry about the hot tub, but am certainly glad you fared better than the tub. It looks like it might be reparable from the pictures. Was it lunched?

Good Morning family units... :)

Little Bit called this morning - her cousin was still crapped out in their room in a Motel 8 about 2 hours out of KC. She was awake with a smoke and a cup of coffee and no computer - hell of a state to be in, I know. I was in a similar condition up in Michigan recently.

So she is all excited. Says, "She will be home" before lunch. :D

She also said Mav is not expected in from Charlottesville (sp?) until five-ish. I laughed and said she could have the home fires burning and dinner on the table for when he gets home. She made a sound, I would say that she snorted, and said she would be lucky to have the damned car unloaded...

Then it started to rain...
