Hey I'm adoptable :D :D

Today we are going to Mav's friends house for dinner...then we are going to decorate our Christmas Tree.We both have the day off so that alone makes it a good DAY.

I heard "Walking in Memphis" the other day and I smiled it reminded me of being at your house and your daughter playing your guitar..

Consider yourself adopted... ;)

lol - she does an outstanding job with that Memphis song, doesn't she?

She is pretty funny about that guitar, too. For the most part, she is rooting for me to sell a few of them. Except that one. After she'd played it for a minute or two, felt how comfortable the 000 OM size was, and heard how it sounded, she held it away from her to examine it a bit better, and mentioned more or less off the cuff... "This one's a keeper, right?"

I laughed and she grinned and winked at me... "No rush." she said.

For those that might be interested. The "Guitar" is what appears to be an NOS 2552 25th Anniversary Model. Alvarez, of course...

... arg...

cain't sleep...

One of my very good friends, RJ - who also just happens to be my oldest daughter's husband, got some good/scary news yesterday, right at the close of the Thanksgiving Day festivities...

The phone rang, and caller ID said "St. Francis Hospital"

On Thanksgiving?!!

The phone was answered with trepedation...

For those of you who don't know - RJ was born with only one kidney, and the one he has quit working about 10 years ago. "He is a dialysis queen, taking a piss on a machine", I joke.

At any rate, there is a kidney that fits his profile being flown in from somewhere in the Southeast. We were set into "scramble" mode immediately
shut down thanksgiving...
get Nane and Nikki home.
calm the kids down
give RJ a Zanex
get him to St. Francis for a new blood workup.

And so here we are. I haven't heard. If everything is a go then he will do dialysis in the morning and go into surgery directly after. Otherwise, it is back on the the list - he has 13 years seniority, he is at the top.

I woke about 15 minutes ago feeling a need to pray for him.

If you are so inclined, I invite you to do the same. He is scared. He is also anticipatory... this can change his life. Or end it.

CJ talks fast. She is scared and anticipatory also.

So - Buck Family Southeast is on red-alert...

And I feel better having shared it with my Lit family...

Thanks guys...

:)

Blooze this is TERRIFIC news!!!

The apprehension is understandable but everything will go smoothly, you'll see :)

Big Kiss and Hugggg

My thoughts and prayers are with RJ and the rest of the family. And I will keep you in mind all day. No harm in making sure the Big Boss is constantly reminded that the eye needs to stay on this ball all day. :rose:

What a wonderful reason for thanksgiving. I just know everything will go wonderfully.

This is so much better than shopping for electronics. ;)

Not the praying type, but I'll keep you all in my thoughts and get on to the friends who are more inclined and connected to that sort of thing so they can send their thoughts and wishes along aswell.

*Goes to make the coffee extra strong this morning*

*BIG HUG BLOOZE*

Wow - this stuff does drag on...

It took them most of the day to get him thru dialisys and then pump up with the drugs that shut down his immune system so he won't reject the kidney. Then it is in for a 3 to 4 hour operation. He has been there for an hour now.

Thanks for all your thoughts and well wishes...

Ohhhh such GOOD NEWS...saying prayers all day...keeping my fingers crossed...I called home a couple of times to check for news.

They let me out a couple of hours early...we had plenty of coverage and with the holiday hours I was up to 56 hours...

Or..

Maybe she let me go early cause this morning I had my coffee on the sales floor under the counter (not suppose to have drinks on the sales floor) the DM didn't see it and she knocked it over and it nailed her pants, socks and shoes
Opps...LOL...she handled it pretty well

Well whatever the reason...I called home and said "Put the coffee on,I'm heading home"

PLEASE keep us updated...you keeping an eye on the grandkids?

We Have PEE!!!

That was the opener of an IM message I just got from Little Sarge!

RJ is out of surgery and in ICU, the kidney is functioning already and the Doctors are quite pleased.

As are the rest of us.

Once again, thank you so much for your concern and all the good vibes, karma, and prayers and such...

That is GREAT news Blooze!!!! About the only thing I can relate to that is waking up...and waiting for the morning stiffy to soften so that I can. Am sure that RJ's was filled with a lot more joy and relief than that! :)

We spent part of the past few days decorating our Christmas Tree...

The tree is a mix of old and new...a few from each of our childhoods, some handcrafted, some store bought, some given as gifts...it's a real eclectic blend...

A blend of sounds are you hang each one...ahhhhhh...a silent tear as you hang your oldest sons paper chain from kindergarden,a smile as you remember your Mom hanging the same ornament on the tree...

And then..

There is

this one...

Your lips curl up in a smile and you just start to laugh

Everytime you look at it you laugh :D

I am going to post a few more pictures of the tree on Mav's thread

LOL - you're right. What a great ornament.

I really like the pheasant wreath ornament. Once upon a time, I would have been tempted to tie flies with it. :D

What a neat tree! All filled with personal tradition and history.

And now you add to it together, new tradition, new history.

How Special... truly, Truly Special!

:) :rose:

Ah, Saturday Mornin'

I like it. It is mine.
Not much to it now,
But it used to be.
Somebody had claim to all of my time,
Except for Saturday Mornin'

Annie could lay claim to Saturday real quick tho...
A little stretch
A little whimper
I ain't a goin' no where...

She used to pet me afterwards,
"Stay in bed - its Saturday"
And she would get up and settle the girls
With breakfast and Cartoons.

And when she decided it was time for me to get up...
She started frying the bacon.

Good Morning Family...

:D $

I had never seen an ornament like the pheasant wreath...thought it was pretty cool myself.Mav has some neat stuff...a couple of pieces are handcarved from Olive wood
I didn't bring alot to KC but I made sure I brought my ornaments
As we stood back and looked at the tree we both laughed..."Good thing we bought a large tree"
Probably should have put the tree in the livingroom which is much larger and more open but we spend all of our time in the familyroom so that's where it is.

Huge football game going on here tonight...KU vs MU. I have never seen such media hype for a game or a town so crazed. "Arrowhead Armageddon"
These folks take college football SERIOUS...the stadium is sold out and best buy said that big screen tv's are flying out the door.

Holding the family in my thoughts Chief..hoping that your son-in-law continues to do well
