I think it stands for Exclusively Sports Programming Network. I could be, and most likely am, wrong.

College Football. More to the point - the end of the College Football season and the search for a National Champion. There isn't a tournament. There is no playoff. It ends up being decided by weird statistics and people's opinions. And the results are never satisfying, even to the winner.

And this is what spawns all the debates, the parts of the country
The East coast centered media is biased towards East coast teams, the SEC and Big 10.

And very similarly...
The Pac 10 gets no respect because their games are on so late.

Old timers such as myself (and I believe El, on this matter) rankle at conference makeovers.
Big Twelve my Ass - It should still be the Big Eight. Let them Texas teams start their own conference.

But "Conference" isn't a fixed battle line...
The Big 12 North can't cut it against the Big 12 South
(The game with the unlikely bet is deciding this one...)

The SEC gets all upset when they get lumped in the ACC...

And so it goes. They say it should be fixed, that the BCS sucks... but why fix it. The entire country is focused on College football now - already. That is what they want. They don't care if they're right or if we're happy - they just want College football at the head of the conversation list... That's how they sell tickets to the Bowl Games, and how the TV networks sell their advertising...

lol - actually, there is some pretty good info there. You don't have to know what any of it means. 95% of the people who spout off about all that stuff don't know what it means. If you memorise two or three of those and just toss 'em out every now and then at a cocktail party, everyone will think you are a real college football fan.



Well, RJ called last night - they finally moved him out of ICU and into a private room. He sounded good. He sounded ready to be done with the hospital. We laughed at the old skills that he will once again be able to exercise... however, due to his bladder having shrunken over all the years of non use, and until it readjusts itself, name writing in the snow will have to make do with just the initials - in lower case.



My cat sure does go weird for that catnip stuff... it makes her crawl up her scratchin' post sideways, like a stripper on a pole. I have discovered that she likes me to watch her do that. She will come to the racing garage (i.e., my office) and fetch me - like she does when she wants out, or thinks her food needs shook. So there I am, trying to figure out what she wants, she paid no attention to her food - ignored the opened backdoor.

"What in the hell do you want?" I ask in my usually patient tone.

She commenses to scratchin' the pole in a horizontal position and looking at me over her shoulder while she does it. I laugh, and she really gets with the program. Then she flops out on the floor and stretches out all fetching like and mews at me... "aren't I pretty?"

I laugh and give her belly a scratch, and tell her she's a sexy cat and then return to my car engineering chores. That was all she wanted...

We have squeegee free coffee this morning...

I am going to hold off on visiting RJ until little Sarge gives it a "go". RJ may be coming home today. And he may not. It depends on how his blood sugar looks - it got stretched pretty good because of the steroids they had him on right after the operation.

The drugs he is going to have to take cost an insane amount. One month's supply clears the deductable on their insurance. That is the sort of crap that is going to eventually put us into a government managed medical system - there is another word, but it escapes me at the moment.

Dumb Assed cat is pouting because I wouldn't let her help me type this. She is sitting on the corner of the desk now - her back turned to me. I saw her check to see if I had noticed that she was ignoring me out the corner of my eye. When I turned to look at her, she quick turned her head back to the wall.

I took Kats for her yearly vaccine earlier this week. It was a battle to push her into the cat carrier, another battle to pull her out of it at the vet's and then some more struggling to keep her out of it while the guy gave her her shot and clipped her nails
She hated me for most of the rest of the day
