I just got off the phone with the Sarge - they're at the Doctor's office again. They are doing a bunch of blood work/analysis on RJ at the moment. The urine output has dropped rather significantly in the last couple days and they are trying to figure out why. The initial thought is that his body is rejecting the kidney. That will be tough if that happens. Folks usually don't get a third chance - the risk of failure increases with each try to the point that it is immenant, and therefore not worth the effort.

That ranking chart is for the Racing Simulator game that I mess with. Basically, it says I am doing pretty good with it. I was bragging a little...

Now I don't have my reading glasses handy but I think at the bottom of the screen it says that there are a total of 982,217 players...if that's true then the ranking of #64 gives you bragging rights there Macx :D

We will continue to pray for RJ and hope it's just a glitch in his system that they can work out

I think you can search the Scoreboard without being "signed up"

My gamer tag is "Blooze46". Maybe you won't need yer glasses.

http://forzamotorsport.net/scoreboards/Forza2/

As of this morning that number is 983,102! I am still setting at 64. :D

The game is selling phenominally well. And now they have it bundled with the xBox 360 for Christmas. Also that number does not include the folks who do not get online with the game.

The medicine that they are giving RJ is essentially poison. It takes a while to get the dosage correct. The Doctor told them it was going to be like he had AIDS - or similar. Not much fun for RJ.

Your ranking is stupendous, no doubt about it, I just didn't know which game it was.

I'm hoping and praying that RJ wins the battle and that the kidney behaves. I can't even start to imagine the emotional stress he and Sarge are subject to.

I haven't gotten to talk to RJ much - he is mostly scared right now. And hurting. He brought going to church up with Sarge the other night - and that scared her. She is a bit frazzled at the moment. The Nick unit has figured out that now would be a good time to lower her bullshit level so that has helped quite a bit.

We do appreciate everybody's prayers and thoughts!

The game is Forza Motorsport II. If you have someone on a Christmas shopping list that has an xBox 360 and likes cars, I highly recommend the game. Where else is somebody like me going to get a chance to drive an Enzo Ferrari? The physics engine that is the foundation of the game is quite realistic... ask Mav. :)

They have a European Version that is all decked out with Kilometers and such.

:) :rose:

Well lets hope all goes well with him. Lets hope its just a quirk in his system and that it will pass. Just keep him hydrated and wait I guess. :)

Well I know some people who can't lower their BS levels at all so lets hope she isn't one of those LOL.

I'd say that ranking gives you bragging rights for awhile.

Dammit, this just sucks. He started out so well...
Please keep us informed Macx. Let them know we are all pulling for RJ...and praying this ordeal will soon have a happy conclusion and complete healing bringing to an end the years of struggle that they have faced.

A quick update...

RJ spent the night in the hospital while they try to get the rejection under control - he is back on the steroids and such and in an isolation room again. CJ is headed in and will call me when she has what ever scoop she can ferret out them medical folks - I got hold down the fort duty again.

I'll post it up when I know more...

First I'd need to know what a friggin' XBox is  ... oh yes I've heard about them but my personal interest in gadgets is practically Zero, I don't even know or care what my cell can do besides placing and receiving calls and snapping the occasional photo

All my best to RJ and CJ, I so hope this ordeal ends soon and RJ can settle down into a normal, healthy life :rose:

LOL - I still haven't figured out how to get the pictures off my cell phone. I need to look into that one of these days.

An xBox is a gaming computer - it plugs into your TV. It is Microsoft's version, Sony has the Playstation - there are also Nintendo's and a thing called WII. I don't know much about them.

Everything you ever wanted to know about the xBox and undoubtedly much more, can be found here...

:rose: Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers...

PS - one thing about the xBox is its association with the Internet. For a little more than $48 a year, you can talk to anybody in the world for as long as you would like - up to eight at a time if you are using Forza as the game interface. That is pretty cheap international phone calling. I wish it had been in place when CJ was in Germany and Little J had just been born. It would have saved me about $300 a month in phone calls keeping Gramma abreast of the situation...

I got CJ's permission to post this email she sent out this morning. It explains everything much better than I ever could...

Hello Everyone.

I wanted to give you all an update. Unfortunately, it's not good news. After RJ got out of the hospital on Friday, he had several problems which led to him being readmitted yesterday. His immune system has started to reject the kidney. Without getting all technical, it's the same kind of rare rejection that he had with the first transplant. Basically, RJ has had some weird antibodies floating around in his body which were present before the last transplant and probably some new ones developed since the last transplant. These antibodies are "sensitive" to something about the new kidney and are mounting the attack. Unfortunately, medical science hasn't figured out everything about this particular type of rejection scenario. And there is no way to detect these antibodies ahead of time.

There is still some hope, however. In the past decade (since the last time we tried this), they have developed some new treatments that might help save RJ's kidney. Over the next week, they will be doing plasmapheresis each day. It''s kind of like dialysis, except that instead of filtering out the toxins like a kidney would, plasmapheresis separates the plasma (where the antibodies are) from the rest of blood and then puts the blood back in with albumen (plasma protein) that doesn't have any antibodies. We caught the rejection early enough that the plasmapheresis might stop the rejection. It will probably be several days before we know if this going to work. On the downside, plasmapheresis will hamper his immune system even more, so risk of infection will be greater over the next few months.

If this treatment doesn't work, then the kidney will need to be removed, and RJ will go back on dialysis.

RJ's spirits are good, and we're all trying to keep our hopes up.

No matter what happens we want you to know how much we appreciate all of your prayers. Just knowing that you are all out there rooting for Randy and this kidney makes a huge difference to all of us. Please keep the prayers and good thoughts coming. :)

We love you all...

Things are a little rough around here troops. You're thoughts and prayers are indeed, appreciated.

Well we'll step up on the positive thoughts and prayers. I hope all this works out for him soon. Both of them have been through enough already.
