The show reaks of cuteness!Seriously it does!
Okay so the anime's about A UFO boarded by members of the "DearS" species (an alien species that look like hot anime chicks and dudes) makes an emergency landing on Earth. Ever since then the life of Takeya Ikuhara, a typical male high school student in Japan, and Neneko Izumi, his female childhood friend, has been complicated by the arrival of Ren and other DearS members to their city.

The DearS ship contains beings that are genetically engineered as slaves, which is why there is never any search party sent out for the disabled ship. Because the DearS are very intelligent, they do not release this fact to the Earth public because of public distaste for slavery. Instead, they release the completed slave models into exchange student programs, in hopes of integrating themselves into society. A DearS will imprint itself onto one person, who becomes its "Master". Since a DearS' happiness is derived from serving a Master, the integrated DearS search for someone to serve.

A pod containing an broken DearS goes hay wire, and releases a DearS into the public. This DearS is functional, but lacks the knowledge of Earthly teachings of the other DearS of which they learned after the ribbon ceremony when the DearS went through the Earth integration, her name, according to the DearS community is, "Ren-Ren-Ren-Nagusaran-Rensia-Roroonren-Nakora", a defective model of the DearS. Takeya saves "Ren" from an oncoming truck, and she imprints on him. The remainder of the story focuses on the chaos that results from Ren's escape.

The downside:

The anime was too short. And your never get a full understanding off all the characters. Still good- and is deffinately a fan-boy based anime. Lots and Lots of cleavage! Sometimes it's a little hard to follow...

This anime is totally for the anime ladies!! 4 gorgeous men? *sighs happily* Oh yeah, and a goth-loving, creepy girl... Perfect combination!! This anime is about the gloomy, goth girl Sunako Nakahara. Sunako fell in love with a crush who hurt her by calling her ugly. The once kind-spirited Sunako died inside, and hence; became the creepy Sunako who is an absolute hoot! Unfortunately, her solace is often interrupted especially when she is forced to become a "proper lady" by her aunt. Sunako's aunt has a beautiful mansion which she rents out to four beautiful ( see where this is going boys?) men. Sunako's aunt gives them a challenge: Make Sunako a woman by the time she returns home ( she's an adventurer) and their rent will be free. Of course the boys accept, not knowing that Sunako is the princess of darkness!
While the four of them manage to make Sunako physically beautiful enough to become a lady, the problem lies with her attitude and interests (which Sunako has no intention of changing). Up until the most recent release in the story, they've managed to convince Sunako's aunt that her niece is indeed a lady befitting the mansion in which they live (and prevent the rent from skyrocketing to triple the required amount). However, in reality, Sunako has not changed considerably. Will she ever become the woman her aunt desires???

The downside:
As always, totally different from the Manga. But hilarious beyond belief! I have a slight irritation towards the gothic lolita girls, but this anime is great!!!

This story of the original Witchblade comics and even the new manga are totally different to the anime. Our story starts with our main character, Masane Amaha- a sweet woman with a few flaws when it comes to housework and being a sterotypical mother. A few years back, Tokyo suffered a great earthquake, which many didn't survive. Masane did- and to her surprise, was holding a baby in her arms. Because of the quake, Masane has no memories, and assumes the child is hers. Also, during the large quake, Masane ends up with the witchblade attached to her arm. At first, she assumes it's a piece of jewelery, however; it's more than that. The government eventually finds her and takes her in, where she works to raise up money for her little girl to have a happy life. But obsticales stand in Masane's way everywhere she goes!

The downside:

To be, it seems that the first volume of Witchblade had more skin. After volume one, the aggressiveness in Masane and the semi-nudity becomes scarce. Too bad *pouts*

Kimihiro Watanuki is a high school student who can see supernatural spirits. Magically attracted to him, the creatures follow him everywhere he goes. The creatures are invisible to others, and as a result he feels extremely burdened by them. When he quite literally stumbles into a shop that grants wishes, his life changes drastically.

The shop is owned by Yūko Ichihara, a mysterious, beautiful witch of many names and esoteric renown. The seemingly all-knowing witch offers to grant Watanuki's wish to be rid of his ability to see spirits. However, in exchange, he must pay a price equal to the power required to grant the wish. Yūko discovers that Watanuki is very skilled with his hands and a hard worker. As a result, Watanuki is forced to perform housework and odd jobs for Yūko until he has done enough work for his wish to be granted.

Shortly afterwards, other characters become involved with Watanuki's position, including his love interest, Himawari Kunogi, and his "rival," Shizuka Dōmeki. The three become increasingly "friendly," despite the number of times Watanuki becomes annoyed by Dōmeki's calm demeanor.

is a heavily fanservice-themed anime created by those lonely nights in your room. The story depicts the life of schoolboy Densuke Mifune after he is forced into the mysterious Eiken Club, which is populated only by females, several of whom have enormous breasts. After joining the club, Mifune-san has to go through many club "activities" to help save the Eiken club!

The downside: One wacky anime.. and seemed like a waste to make just 2 episodes. It could of been really popular as a series. A shame. Also, the rating this got is a little skeptical in my books ( it's rated PG-13), but some of the references in the anime makes me think otherwise...
Also, the ending song is like a mini-episode as well... it goes on for 5 minutes!

Hmm, have you seen Maburaho? What did you think of it? I thought it was cute. Or atleast the episodes i've seen so far were. I really need to renew my Netflix subscription!

Wow, i didn't even know they made another Hellsing series. I'll have to check that one out too.

And as to Wolf's Rain, i watched the whole series too. My favorites were Toboe & Kiba. That last episode was brutal & kind of hard to watch though after growing attached to some of the characters. :(

I'd also love to hear your thoughts about Mahoromatic, Grenadier, Rurouni Kenshin, or Samurai X. :)

Is Ah, My Goddess worth watching? I've only seen the first episode, but i've heard the series gets better when the other sisters show up.

And how is the Disgaea anime series? I loved the game.

Sorry it's taken me a couple of days to reply. My honest apologies, Tygress.

I have seen Maburaho- it's not bad. But you are right on the cuteness ^^
I have taken your suggestions down on my little post-it pad, so be sure to check out more reviews!
My favorite wolves are Toboe and Blue ( even though she's part wolf), but their fates are not really brutal if you think about it. It's all about the circle of lifebeings. It didn't bother me.
But a big thank-you for the suggestions, and be sure to watch HellsinG Ultimate. I promise to do a review on that soon!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out this thread- It means alot to me :D

If there is one anime you want to consider a favorite, Paprika deserves to make your list! The best Satoshi Kon has ever made- even better than Perfect Blue! ( For those who don't know who Satoshi Kon is, think the Miyazaki of weird anime!).
Paprika throws you into a dream-like world of total imagination!

In the future, a revolutionary new psychotherapy treatment called PT has been invented. A device called the "DC Mini" allows the user to view people's dreams, exploring their unconscious thoughts. The head of the team working on this treatment, Doctor Atsuko Chiba, begins using the machine illegally to help psychiatric patients outside the research facility, using her alter-ego "Paprika", a persona she assumes in the dream world. Paprika ends up councilling Detective Konakawa Toshimi, who is victimized by a recurring dream, the incompleteness of which is a great source of personal anxiety for him. This type of counseling session is not officially sanctioned, so Doctor Atsuko Chiba and her associates must be cautious that word does not leak out to the press regarding the nature of the DC Mini and the existence of Paprika. Her closest ally is Doctor Kōsaku Tokita, a morbidly obese child-at-heart genius and the inventor of the DC Mini. Unfortunately, before the government can pass a law authorizing the use of the device, three of the prototypes are stolen. Because of their unfinished nature, the DC Minis can allow anyone to enter another person's dreams, giving the culprit an opportunity to get away with all sorts of malicious deeds!

I don't want to give anymore away. Seriously, WATCH IT!

The story begins with college freshman, Keiichi Morisato who one day, accidentally calls the "Goddess Helpline" aka the Yggdrasil. Almost instantly after dialing the phone number ( he meant to call a pizza parlor), A beautiful goddess known as "Belldandy" is summoned to grant Keiichi one wish. Keiichi thinks that this entire meeting is a prank set up by his senpais ( who he works/ somewhat lives with/for). Keiichi, thinking the entire set up is a joke, wishes Belldandy to stay with him forever, not realizing that Belldandy is truly indeed, a goddess. Eventually Keiichi realizes this isn't a joke, and eventually ends up having a relationship with the beautiful, Belldandy. Now if only it was that simple, eh? Well, later on in Season 1, Belldandy's life gets turn a little upside down with the introductions of Urd ( Belldandy's super sexy, half- goddess/demon, older sister), and Skuld ( Belldandy's slightly bratty little sister). Later on in the first season, Keiichi and Belldandy ( who is crazily gifted with cars) have to beat a rival auto gang, which adds complications to the series. Not to mention, robots and demons as well!

In season 2, aka "Flights of Fancy", more characters get introduced such as a Goddess rival named "Peorth", and a little unknown character known as "Welsper".

**WARNING- SOME SPOILERS!!!***

The title 5 Centimeters Per Second comes from the speed at which cherry blossoms petals fall, petals being a metaphorical representation of humans, reminiscent of the slowness of life and how people often start together but slowly drift into their separate ways.- Makoto Shinkai.

5 Centimeters Per Second is a 3 story movie, all tying up in the end. Pretty simple, but yet a beautiful masterpiece that will truly capture one's heart.
The plot is set in Japan beginning from the 1990s and ending in modern day, with each segment centered on a boy named Takaki Tōno.
In the first episode "Cherry Blossom", Takaki Tōno and his close friend Akari Shinohara drifted apart. Akari moved to Tochigi Prefecture due to her parents' jobs, while Takaki attended a junior high in Tokyo. The two kept in contact by writing letters, but despite the special feelings that existed between them, the only thing that persisted was time. When Takaki became aware that his family would move to Kagoshima, he decided to go see Akari since they would be too far apart to visit each other after he moved. However, when the day came, a severe snowstorm delayed Takaki's trip, and it would be hours before he reached Iwafune, where they promised to meet. The two finally meet late that night and fall asleep talking to each other. As they share a kiss, Takaki realizes that the two will never be together as time and circumstance draws them slowly apart. He departs the next morning carrying a bitter-sweet feeling with him. In the 2nd episode, " Cosmonaut", Takaki is now in the third year of senior high in Tanegashima, where the Tanegashima Space Center is located. Kanae Sumita, a classmate of Takaki, has special feelings for Takaki, but she does not have the courage to express her love to him. She later observes that Takaki is always staring off into the distance, as if searching for something far far away. Even though she loves Takaki, Kanae understands that he is searching for things far greater than anything she can ever offer. Finally, in Episode 3, well- it sums up the meaning of "5 centimeters per second". All I'm going to say that it's 2008. Did you really think I was going to ruin the ending??
Byousoku_Go_Senchimeetoru_by_093.jpg

The downside:
Unfortunately, the movie was a little short, and it left off a loose string in the end. Other than that, the movie is beyond terrific. I loved it! Really spoke from the heart.

The story revolves around many different characters. The most prominent would be Tatsuhiro Satō, a university dropout entering his fourth year of unemployment. He leads a reclusive life as a hikikomori, ( someone who is basically afraid of life outside their own home) ultimately coming to the bizarre conclusion that this happened due to some sort of conspiracy.

One day just when his life seems as boring as ever, he meets Misaki Nakahara, a mysterious girl who claims to be able to cure Tatsuhiro of his hikikomori ways. She presents him with a contract basically outlining that once a day they would meet in the evening in a local park where Misaki would lecture to Tatsuhiro in an effort to rid him of his lifestyle. At first, Tatsuhiro runs away, thinking once again "it's all a conspiracy", but eventually comes around, meeting with Misaki once a day in a local park. Eventually, Tatsuhiro lies to Misaki and lets on that he's a video- game developer, which is totally not true. His next door neighbour ( who blares anime theme songs 24/7), Kaoru Yamazaki finally meet one night after Tatsuhiro cracks and break's down Kaoru's door, only to find the "Otaku neighbour" happens to be the same junior high kid he defended a few years back. Seriously this is one of the craziest shows I have ever come across!! Lemme ask you this. Say, your God- but you don't know that your God. What do you think happens?
Well that's what Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu is about! The story revolves around a girl who, unbeknownst to her, possesses the power to change reality. This girl happens to be Haruhi Suzumiya- a very active, strange high school girl. The story is told by Kyon- a friend (against his own will!) who gets sucked into Suzumiya's plans.
Kyon is an ordinary freshman high school student who has recently given up his fantasies of espers ( aka Psychics), time travelers, and aliens as he left middle school.[9] When he chooses to speak to Haruhi, he unwittingly sets off a chain of events which drag him into surreal situations; he is drawn further into a world eerily like the fantasies he had just managed to outgrow, with Haruhi at its center.
Haruhi is easily bored and strives for curious things, so she creates a club called the SOS Brigade. The first member ( like I said, against his will) is Kyon, followed by Yuki Nagato- a bookworm who is actually a "humanoid interface," or an artificial human, created by the extraterrestrial Integrated Data Entity, next is Mikuru Asahina, a shy- but beautiful girl who is actually is a time traveler. (Haruhi usually makes her dress up in cosplay), and last but not least is Itsuki Koizumi, a happy-go lucky transfer student who is really an Esper. The three ( not Kyon) come to the conclusion that they were "summoned" by Haruhi without her knowledge ( 3 years ago she wished for a time travel, aliens and espers to exist). As all three reveal themselves to Kyon, they agree to keep it a secret from Haruhi for fear that she'll destroy our current world. However, when Haruhi becomes bored or otherwise dissatisfied with reality, she unconsciously creates a new universe—one more to her liking—and attempts to switch over, thus leading to the destruction of the current universe. In order to prevent this, the members of Haruhi's club spend their time attempting to keep their god-like leader entertained, hold her powers in check, and maintain the illusion of a normal life.
The rest you have to see. The show is hilarious!!!

The downside:
Don't come into watching the anime with any attempts of understanding anything. It makes sense and doesn't make sense- which is what it's trying to do. Just accept the way things are. Also, when the DVD's were released, the show was aired in no particular order. Whereas, the DVD's have them in order, with the exception of episode 00.
