The Anime Directory/Information Thread

So there's a good chance I'll be going to my first ever anime convention this month.

hope it's a good one.
I should be going to Edmonton's Animethon this year again. I have a poll up- you should vote for who I should go as.
I'll post the link up in a sec

I dunno.

I do know you should put up that av where you're naked again.

I don't believe that I've never seen this thread...Right now I watch a lot of shonen anime (anime oriented to adolescent males) but I've watched a bit of everything. Liked your review of Ergo Proxy.

i really couldn't give a satisfactory answer as to why, but i'm watching neon genesis evangelion right now. ほんとに。 :cattail:

The Vision of Escaflowne

Opening Song: Yakusoku wa Iranai by Maaya Sakamoto
** if you watched this anime back when you were a kid, you might know this opening a little better: Fox T.V/ YTV version- not sure who sings it or whatever lol.

Ending Song : Mystic Eyes by Yoko Kanno and Shoji Ueda

Released: 1996

Genre: Adventure, Romance, Fantasy

Number of Episodes: 26 ( complete boxset includes 2 double volumes- 8 discs)

Rating: 8.5

Over View:
This series focuses on the heroine, Hitomi Kanzaki, and her adventures after she is transported to the world of Gaea, a mysterious planet where she can see Earth and its moon in the sky. On Gaea, Earth is known as the Mystic Moon. Hitomi's off-again/on-again psychic powers are enhanced on Gaea and she quickly becomes sucked in the middle of the conflicts between the Zaibach Empire and the several peaceful countries that surround it. The conflicts are brought about by the Zaibach Empire's quest to revive the legendary power from the ancient city of Atlantis. As the series progresses, many of the characters' pasts and motivations, as well as the history of Atlantis and the true nature of the planet Gaea, are revealed.

The downside:
This is one of my favorite animes that I grew up with. Sometimes I want to smack Hitomi around because along the way, she meets the king of Fanelia- Van (pronounced Vaahn), and a gorgeous knight from the kingdom of Asturia, Allen, and well because Hitomi is a high-school girl, she has a stupid battle within herself to try and figure out who she loves ( oh yeah, and then there's the guy back on Earth she "loves" as well. I think his name is Amano). My god Hitomi! PICK A GUY AND THAT IS THAT! IT'S NOT THAT HARD!!!!!

Anime Directory: Wolf's Rain, Ayakashi Samurai Horror Tales (x), Peach Girl, Fruits Basket, Mushi-shi, Devil May Cry the animated series, Bible Black series,

i'm on episode 21 of the series with end of evangelion queued up. i read that the nervous breakdown that shinji has (is currently having as per where i am in the plot) is supposed to be taken pretty much directly from the writer's own personal experiences...well, minus the whole fighting against giant organo-robotic alien-angelic- monster things:)

What? You mean..those aren't real?!!! -_-"

What I've seen of Escaflowne I really liked, but I heard the ending sucks so I've held off on buying it.

The ending doesn't "suck", it is a little weak. Have you seen the movie?

I never really got into Evangelion. Shinji was such a wuss he was impossible for me to like. I did however think that episode where Rei made that older lady commit suicide was kind of funny. There was just something about what she said. lol, sorry.

No need to be sorry ^^
