The China Pearl Inn part 7

Poker, I have played enough online to understand the rules. But I don't know some of the steps that the computer does for me. :) Yahtzee is more my speed.

Well I'm just about ready to call it a night. Catch you up tomorrow:)

Uggg:rose:

The tall man with reddish-brown hair and in a bad need of a shave groaned as he walked up to the door of the China Pearl Inn. Not because he was there, but that he was in need of some rest haven't a long travel. It had been... well years since he had been here. And he wasn't even sure this was the same place. It didn't matter. Any place in from the cold was as good as any.

He opens the door and walks in, his eyes looking around as he enters, his boots echoing into the room as he steps in. His black t-shirt torn from his hike up, his jeans covered in mud. This place... did though, have a familiar look too it. Maybe a face or two would be recognizable as well. Only time would tell.

A chill blast of air, the shuffling echo of boots on the Inn’s worn floor has me raising my head. I peer over the edge of my coffee mug. There is something familiar about the stranger, something about his gate, that unshaven face.

“Jack”

A questing note in my voice as I pour a steaming mug of coffee.

Here you look like you need this.

Pausing mid-step as he heard his name spoken, he turns and looks around. He knew that voice... that face. The proprietor of the inn. What was his name... Raven.. CG Raven!

"C.G." Jack said as he stepped over to the other. He smiled and reached for the offered mug of coffee. "Thank you. I do." He takes a quick sip and sighs as the aroma feels his nostrils and the heat from the steaming hot coffee helps to waken his senses.

“C G.”
I smile as Jack takes the mug of coffee and a contented smile bows his lips as he sighs.

"Thank you. I do."

“It has been a while sense you stopped by. What have you been up to sense last you darken our door?”

I tease Jack.

Eyebrows bunch up in thought as he is asked the question about where he has been.

"I had things to do... someone I was... seeing. But that is over now. Got a little lost, decided to retrace some steps." He says simply.

“ Sometimes you just need to ease back retrace your step so you can find your way forward again.”

The Inn muddles along as always Jack. It reflects the needs and wishes of those that call it home for awhile and as always people come and go Jack. Good to see you.

Smiling and nodding his head, he thanks his graceful host. He takes a seat in a wingback leather chair and relaxes, sipping his coffee and trying to not get lost in thought too much.

"As I remembered, you are always full of wisdom and kindness CG." Jack grumbles over the lip of his mug.

“Not sure about that Jack. I just kind of listen ask a question or two and then folks come up with their own answers. At best I am just a bumbling guide Jack.

I top off our coffees

“I will soon be off for a couple of morning ski runs and then the cares of the RW will kold my attention.”

Not able to stop himself, he chuckles at how Raven described himself. Nodding his head. "understood. Take care until we meet again CG."

Well I was given a troop car, a drone, a tank, and an army Land Rover. Three of them had faults, one minor I could fix on the spot, one major needing a workshop and one totally beyond repair. The fourth had no fault at all. I was given seven hours to work on them, repair the minor fault, refer the major fault, arrange for the condemned unit’s disposal and write a ‘satisfactory’ referral for the undamaged one. Tomorrow I write up what I’ve done. I can’t say which is which because these units are used again and it might ‘leak’.

Right, I want my lunch (4 hours late). I’m a hungry girl. But first I want a shower - I’m covered in oil.

Well done Robyn! As always the easy part was actually doing the evaluations and repairs. Now comes the hard part The report writing.

Go get your lunch Miss, you will need your strength for when you are back I shall chase you around the Inn and if, when I catch you Robyn…… :devil:ish :D :p

Sounds like a nurse's triage to me. A full day of work, you deserve a meal. :)

Hello to Jack. :cattail:

How were the slopes, CG?

Sending love and warm thoughts. Someone please remember to water pinky pet with booze otherwise he'll dry out.

See you all tomorrow

Very tired. Sal is already in bed. I think her written exam went well. Off to bed myself, massive day tomorrow. Goodnight CPI

Yes! That's very important! :D

So you are a CPI patron that returns now after some time away?

That is right. It has been a while but decided it was time to come back. It is nice to see this place still here :)
