Sometimes having Monday off just means Tuesday is Monday on steroids...

Is that like, fake it ‘til you make it?
How are ya, D?
I'm guessing CoVID has killed Halloween. I'm hoping Thanksgiving and Christmas will survive.
I keep thinking about sharks complaining and popcorn balls for Halloween.
What are the sharks complaining about?
Anybody doing anything special this weekend?
I think I’ll be having a picnic on Sunday, and later to look at stars. I’ve been really wanting to go some place dark to see the sky. I have an app on my phone for star gazing that I’ve been playing with. It’s fascinating. I’m excited for the stars.
That sounds great!
My nephew is really into stars and space as well and a few years ago on a clear, cold night we walked in the middle of a lake* to get away from the lights and drank hot chocolate and looked at the stars. I used an app, he knew everything even without an app.
Here warm enough for a picnic and stars don't really coincide, but I'd like to experience it. It sounds lovely.
I'm seeing my parents this weekend. Gonna check out an art exhibit and have dinner with them.
*) Frozen. I'm not a Jesus lizard.
That sounds far more amazing than pulling off on the side of a dark road. I’ve barely witnessed snow and have never been in the presence of a frozen lake. @_@ so much cold, my brain can’t comprehend seasons.
The app is interesting in that it shows satellites and debris too. I was sad to see the darker side of space exploration. :/
That sounds lovely. An art exhibit and dinner would be wonderful.
Edit: what kind of art?
Yeah, but you have manatees!
There's a van Gogh exhibit here that mom would like to see and I still haven't seen, but it's very popular so I don't think we'll go there. Don't really feel like standing in lines and in a crowd right now. I have Friday off next week (fingers crossed) and I think I'll try to go check out van Gogh then, during the day when people are at work.
I'm going to suggest going to a Tiepolo exhibit instead and maybe popping into a few art galleries that are nearby as well. I hope mom is okay with this plan.
Manatees are ... (>_>) nice I suppose.
It sounds like a lot of fun. I’m jealous you have more than one to visit.

It’s the time of year for bonfires, and Watching the stars. I’m not super into space, but find it interesting. Saw a fantastic meteor Wednesday night (just taking out the garbage), but right now, Mars is spectacular, you can see both Saturn and Jupiter and the crescent moon was beautiful earlier this week.
Enjoy the weekend and the sky if you can!

Winter night skies are beautiful. On December 21, Jupiter and Saturn will have a very close conjunction when the planets will be separated by 0.1 degree (about 1/5 of the moon's diameter). This is the closest they have appeared since 1623.
Binoculars will show Jupiter's Galilean satellites. A small telescope will show Saturn's rings and Jupiter's larger cloud bands.
Seela, the app I use is Star Walk.
Tried to see recent meteor shower, but too much light around here.
The app is very good. Which one do you use?
Well you know me and manatees...
There are some nice small places here. I'll take you when you come over.

I didn't really use any app, per se. I used a star map the local astronomical association provides on their website which shows the night sky according to your location and it changes as you turn. I imagine the apps would be something similar, likely with more bells and whistles.
I'm not into stars quite enough to download a specific app for it. I'm relatively picky about downloading apps.
Honestly I think it was meant for you.Indeed it was not. I had forgotten the part where you used an app but your nephew didn’t need it. In my defense, it was like 3am.
My weekend includes rest and more rest. Looking at stars sounds fun but I'm not feeling great from weather changes so I'll be inside.
