The DGE appreciation thread

I concur; as I recall he was more of a drippy knuckle dunk kinda guy.

And he only occasionally ate cereal from a bundt pan with measuring spoons. Only when all the dishes were dirty and there were just few options.

Also, on Talk threads about mono-poly people, he refrained from posting that railroads are better to own than utilities. Because that would show a lack of respect.

To me, he always seemed a jolly good egg, a real diamond geezer, the sort of fellow you would want on your side in a tight spot.

Yes, he certainly was a hail fellow well met. And I only knew him to take wooden nickels on one or four occasions, so there is certainly something there.

One thing I liked about him was, he usually waved to the neighbor that never, ever waved back. It was like he thought, yes: I have a basic faith in this neighborhood, and in you. While you may not wave back, it serves the social fabric if I try. And who knows? Someday, you may wave back, and that might just mean that the accumulated weight of my "waves" created a social pulse, that is, perhaps, unseen, or something.

Also, he was so nice to the dry cleaning woman, even though she listened to loud, politically-conservative Christian radio in the back all day while she made alterations. Maybe that was tolerance and kindness, but it could just be that she flirted with him and remembered his name, and he sort of had a thing for asian women.

Anyway, he was okay.

Sometimes his comments are THE ONLY thing that can make me smile. Those AVs don't hurt either... ;)

I heard that he took down the half naked Av's out of the goodness of his heart.

He knows how difficult it is to clean a sticky keyboard.

He's all heart that man ;)

Such a gentleman! *swoon*

I think he's going through a rough patch right now.

I know he's missed around here. Probably even by the men folk! ;)

Thank *you* - for being our friend, for sharing our happinesses, our worries, and our sorrows, and for allowing us to try to help you get through yours.

I am knocked off balance by the comments of support I have received from you people. I truly am. Thank you. And to beautiful unicorn-spleendust-national-champion friends who have PMd or emailed me, and been summarily ignored while I add worry lines to my forehead, I am sorry. Ashamed, but sorry.

When one doesn't feel or act anything like... oneself, and people still seem to want one around, well, that seems so nice, it's suspiciously fucked up.

Is that called friends?

A genuine and heartfelt thanks.
