The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

I'm glad I gave up on watching it. Netflix is dumb. Being close to 50, I had hope for the old man, but it turned out exactly how I thought it would. 45 seconds of highlights this morning is all I cared to see.
He had no hope against a 27 yr old man. None what so ever. I give him props. I was sitting there hoping he did not get really realty hurt.

Nope. You don’t see that out where I live.
The house belongs to a younger couple with 2 small kids they weren’t/aren’t home. I alerted them that there is dog. So far no dog has been found. But they are still putting out smouldering fire. 😢
Glad the family is okay. Hope they find the doggie. The pup hopefully ran off when he got out and is just lost.

Looks like we've gained another outdoors moggie... a fairly hefty black and white tom with a pitiful miau who's been hanging around for months now helping himself to the other cats' feed; he used to run because we'd clap hands at him since he was fighting with Harry—the cat, not the husband. The dog used to chase him off, too, if she noticed him. Today saw him sunbathing on one of the big log stumps waiting to get split by the house... he stayed put, quite comfortable... didn't bat an eyelid as the dog ambled past ignoring him. This evening he and Harry got within about 10' of eachother; there was some under the breath swearing from Harry but the parted ways to sit about 30' apart.

It's a situation we've gotta watch, though, since Harry was here first and he comes indoors as well and then there's the kitten. We'll see.

You and your husband have some REALLY REALLY strange sex rituals.

Do you think the native Indians regretted giving food to the Pilgrims? I mean they weren't even invited to dinner. Then there is the whole taking of land thing. I mean yeah I know what the 'history' says, but the victors write the history not those who lose.

And did the Pilgrims bring the turkeys with them as pets...."they're eating the pets"....heard that somewhere. Oh look a butterfly. Nope a bird got it.

Is it ironic that a majority of cyclists who complain about motorists, are themselves motorists.

Maybe you can set him another place to eat, away from the others. Somehow, I don't know. Poor thing.

The native Indians? They were there with the native Americans when the pilgrims arrived? Must’ve missed that… 🤦‍♀️

So there weren't any Indians when the pilgrims arrived? Where they on a different ship? The native Americans call themselves Indians right and there are Indian nations in America, therefore Indian nations native to the respective parts of America. Then there is that generic term Aboriginal that historians like to use. Are we re-writing history here? I must have missed something.

Perhaps you have, yes, but we’re all fallible
Indians? No, the first arrived a century or more later
And yes, some native Americans call themselves that, but others dislike it
As to the rest of what you’re saying, it’s unclear whether you’re referring to indigenous people or people from India

So there are no Indian nations in America? So when I google Indian nations of America it should be blank right according to you. For example Indian nations of Oklahoma which was on top of the list. So when it quotes
Several Indian nations already lived in Oklahoma, including the Apache, Arapaho, Comanche, Kiowa, Osage and Wichita.
This is total BS?

Ok I think I get it. So you believe when I wrote...'Do you think the native Indians regretted giving food to the Pilgrims? ' I'm referring to people from India the country in Asia, coming to America in the 1600's to talk to the Pilgrims. Is that the gist of what you are saying to me? And then the other part of my post referred to..... 'the whole taking of land thing' you thought I was talking about taking land away from Indians from India the country in Asia who somehow owned land in America in the 1600's. Have I just gone into an alternative universe? Will you lot lurking stop laughing. I'm trying to type.

Again my post was about pilgrims and the Indian tribes native to America. When I say indigenous it means native to the land. There are indigenous people all over the world in various countries. And yes there are indigenous people in India the country in Asia. I know right, who knew. Do I really have to explain this?

Why would I be referring to people from India, the country in Asia, when talking about Pilgrims? WTF! When the country India, is far older than America. You know I'm starting to believe the stuff on Youtube about dumbstuff Americans say. You people do exist. I'm experiencing my own Youtube moment. If I was on Youtube I'd post this. Nobody would believe me if I mentioned this.

Don't get me wrong this has been entertaining. I was feeling sleepy before. Not now. I'm not getting angry. I just find this fascinating. I feel like David Attenborough right now. Please continue.

Nope, you need to
a) communicate more clearly. If you’d said American Indians rather than native Indians, your original post might have been a bit less odd
b) accept that the people of the nations and tribes you’re talking about don’t all share the same affinity for the labels you’re ascribing to them, and
c) realize that your offense and energy could be better used than desperately trying to patronize people
But seeing your other posts, it looks as if trying to patronize is your thing, so - enjoy

When you confuse American Indians with Indians from India, which are two vastly different cultures it clarifies your knowledge. Your western perspective of other cultures is the issue which is why you assumed my post was based on your understanding. Certainly don't leave America you might not make it back. It has been interesting.

I’m glad you’ve found it interesting. The real interest tends to come later, as the points discussed are absorbed. Maybe take a note of @TwinkleStars ‘ point above on that
Oh, and the Western perspective?
Don’t take the bait, don’t take the bait
Fuck it, taking the bait just a bit lmao
Aside from the fact that indigenous and native Americans are as much part of the West as any other group, (albeit often with values often more rooted in nature than stereotypical Western thought has been assumed to be), you yourself seem to be Australian? So equally indoctrinated by Western values? But you think location and culture creates an inherent insult?
Maybe time to get past labels… 🙂

I am a proud Native American. My grandfather worked hard to secure our right to say that. He was a full blooded Chippewa from northern North Dakota. Native Indians are native to India. The first "Thanksgiving" wasn't a blind trust of white people, it was an opportunity for commerce. Native Americans we not the savages history class led us to believe. Because it differs from European society at the time, doesn't mean it was any less civilized.
