The Jeffinator's Lounge

Oh, guess what? They fucking cut back my hours at work. Even if I'm more experienced than some of the others, I still lost my seniorty when I left. Now that I'm back, I'm back at the bottom of the totem pole, and they cut me back to two eight hours shifts and a seven hour shift a week. Fucking 23 hours... See, with summer over, things are slowing down, we are over-staffed, and I was the first one to lose hours...

I'm going to use my four days off a week to work on some short stories and articles, and then try and get some extra money freelancing. I'm still getting my net, but I can kiss my new laptop, nicer TV, and new video game systems goodbye. I'll need to live on water and sandwiches for a while to save money to use for my freelancing, and hopefully I'll earn enough to live fairly comfortably.

Well that sucks, especially when you travelled so far for the job in the first place. Maybe you can take another part time job to make up the hours? Loads of people are hiring temporary staff for the Christmas period.

Right there with you, hun. I'm starting a Marvel thread too, btw. Been working on it for a few days. Should be up today, hopefully.

Hey,

Yeah Jeff, it's Ben, I'm currently making my way through all things ultimate marvel, cos i was so far behind.

Velvet....nice avatar...

Yeah the new x-men show is called, Wolverine and the X-men, I've being watching it, and it's actually quite good.

BTW, still looking for players for my ultimate titans & ultimate outsiders threads, you can find the links on the previous page.

OO, can't wait to see ur marvel thread Jeff.

Yeah, I'm far behind too -- I only have the first 27 issues of Ultimate Spider-Man. Though, I gotta say, I like Ultimate Marvel more than any other universe. Bendis is a fucking genius.

As for Wolverine and the X-Men, you're a lucky bastard to get it before us. It seems everywhere else in the world got it this fall, but us Americans have to wait till fucking spring 2009. What a gyp! LMAO.

As for your rps, I'll check them out once my net gets hooked up and I have a fulltime connection. I'm doing things different for my Marvel RP, removing the evolutionary X-Gene in favor of genetically altered normal genes. Yep, Mutants and Mutates will be the same thing, though still called Mutants. Every Mutant is a victim of the Mutant Syndrome, a "virus" resulting from a lab explosion in Nevada 13 years ago. More info when I put the thread up...

Woah, Nitecrowe's being with me since 2004, cool.

Uh oh, now I have to think...*g*

Let's see...did college, went to grad school, came back, went online, played some D&D with online friends...hmmm...that would make me having the name Remec since, oh, 1994? Although not as an online handle until I joined Lit.

Before that, I was some variation of my first character, Fax, or the one I made for a friend's campaign in the early 90s, Aldarras. (Both of which I still make use of here and there around the web.)

Time for the old college dorm diet...peanut butter sandwiches, ramen noodles, and the occasional can of tuna fish...*g* And, if you can manage it in the budget, hit a salad bar, like, once a week or so.

*quickly adding in a few more healthy choices and some vitamins*

That help any?

*hitting the discount racks for reduced Halloween chocolate*
*looking up*
What? I've had more than one female friend tell me chocolate is its own food group. More than that, it's the mortar that holds the food pyramid together. hehehe;)

Ooh, nice take on the whole mutant/mutate thing jeff, i'm very intrigued. Recently i got a copy of every ultimate marvel comic (Spiderman, X-men, Vision, human, Power, Ultimates, Galactus, adventures, team-up, iron man, daredevil & Electra, Electra, Fantastic Four, Origins & Wolverine vs Hulk)
