The Lounge's Summer Pool Party

Saunters in at a slow pace, wearing nothing but a pair of colorful swimming trunks and a pair of black shades. I carry a case of hard cider under one of my arms, the corner of it torn open, a opened can in my right hand.

"Aah, finally some sun! Dear crap the weather sucks at home, nothin' but grey skies and rain. Bullshit is what it is." I take a look around, seeing faces that are kinda familiar but none that are really familiar. Still, the pool looks nice and there are pretty ladies to look at, so there's really nothing to complain about.

"Yup, I'll make my home in the pool. Maybe that can loosen up my damn back." I empty the can in my hand and toss it in a nearby trashcan before noticing someone familiar.

"Hey, CarnivalBarker!" I call out to her as I walk over, a smile on my face as I give her a wave. "How ya doin', it's been a while. Like your bikini, looks good on you." I make a small nod against the case under my arm. "You want some hard cider? It's, um... 'forrestberries'? That's what it's called at home at least, though I think it's just taste of blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. They're good though."

Appears with an umbrella, dripping wet again.

"Bloody rain!" She grumbles, shaking off the rainbow coloured umbrella and then leaning it against the bar to dry. At least using it has meant she's not as drenched as she was the day before. "I was promised summer. Can we still call it the land of the midnight sun if we never see the damn thing?"

Looking around she smiles to see people using the pool again.

"Maybe the sun is waiting until I finish work tomorrow for the summer. I guess I have to hope that's what it's doing!" A shrug and a sigh. "Ah well, time for a drink and a swim!"

Drops by before heading out to work to leave a little cheer-me-up present for the resident Shark.

I hope the sun shines a little brighter today. whispers ...the witch can make that happen, you know...

*Beams at the wonderful gesture, truly touched by Serps' thoughtfulness.*

This is so sweet, thank you. I do "feel" better today, but I'm not much closer to accomplishing what I need to do. Maybe today I can split my time between posting and lugging things out to the car, packing up and so forth... I still have about 6 days to clear out, but the feels are much too heavy. I'll manage though.

*Looks over to Brit, appreciating how she looks in the wet.*

I think you may be right, the weather is waiting for you to have the opportunity to appreciate it before it unveils its true brightness. Also, welcome Trucken.

Her smile widens to see a familiar face and she moves to hug him warmly, hoping she doesn't get him too damp in the process

"Sorry to hear you've been going through it a bit lately, it's never fun to feel like that."

Another smile and a nod

"You'll be all done before you know it, I have faith in you, and then you'll be able to take some time for yourself. Speaking of which...can I get you something to drink while you're here?"

I'm fairly used to navigating these kinds of feelings, sometimes it just requires a little time and endurance.

*Smiles at the offer to serve him.*

I'm giving alcohol a rest for a while, but if you have energy drinks back there I'd be delighted with one of those. Wake me up and get me motivated. :D

*Sits on a stool at the bar, thumbing through PMs and likely looking student applications. Laughing with eager excitement to himself.*

A giggle and another nod.

"Something sugary and laced with caffeine it shall be."

Slipping easily behind the bar, she pops open a can of a fruit flavoured energy drink and pours it over ice in a tall turquoise glass with a straw curling up around the outside. It makes her giggle again as she nudges it across the bar towards him.

*Grins big at the lavish presentation and whimsical straw, nodding appreciatively as he raises the straw to his lips and begins to suck the carbonated fluid around the long journey to his mouth.*

Much obliged.

*Takes his tablet out at the bar and begins to work, still procrastinating the real task at hand.*

Clears up after herself and comes back around the bar to press a kiss to his cheek.

"Sadly it's time for me to head to bed already, but one last 'early night' before my summer begins so I can't complain too much."

She punches the air victoriously.

"I'll leave you to your work but am sure you won't be alone for long. See you soon, Sharky."

One more hug, one more wink, the umbrella is collected and the witch is gone.

*Kisses her back and tenderly runs my hand along her back as she departs. Letting it remain static as she walks away from its caress.*

Until then, Brit.

Wanders in, wondering why Shark is standing there like a statue with his hand out. Casually, she slips a beer into his hand.

There you go.

grabs a glass of rose wine and sits down in a chair

So, went to see Jurassic World tonight. What a testament to the things a woman can do by switching up an outfit and refusing to take off her heels. Also raptors.

*makes a face at Serps for the little jab at his posture, setting the beer aside and taking a drink from his unique drink receptacle.*

Yeah, after Fury Road the gender politics of just about every other film feel quite ham handed, if you ask me. JW was fun, a decent popcorn flick, gender politics aside, but I do think that it passed the point of diminishing returns on the "self-referential" scale.

*more energy drink.*

awakes in her corner but doesn't come out of hiding

*finishes his drink, knitting his brows at the gurgling sound the straw makes as the liquid runs out. He then leaves the bar to go find zy in her hiding spot, laying face down on the deck to try and coax her into the open.*

You can come out, you know. I was just kidding about the bubbles thing. We all miss you out here.

narrows eyes and shakes her head and pelts him with pop rocks

*shakes pop rocks out of his hair. Puts on an uncharacteristically pathetic pouty face.*

Come on... it's not really snitching if everybody already knew it was you. Besides, the bubbles were fun.

*singing* de-ar zydrate. Won't you come out and pla-a-ay.

*the threat of more singing looms large.*

sighs and reluctantly crawls out

OK, OK...just please...no more singing...

Hurray! And all is forgiven! *kisses the top of zy's head and goes back to the bar.*

Then an older man passes by. "Children, he says to himself, mere children". What do they know? Could he learn anything from them?

They know patronizing condescension isn't a good way to make friends. See? Learning already.

Welcome anyway Orca.
