The Lounge's Summer Pool Party

"Here, here!" Brit calls as she approaches the bar with an empty glass, looking for a fuller one. "Summer is fleeting enough as it is, lets try to spot the silver linings instead of comparing our clouds."

A grin and a wink and a sip of her fresh drink is taken.

That dress is quite fetching, Brit.

*He smiles and takes a slow drink from his cup*

I'm glad you've made it to your break. My weekend is fast approaching, fortunately.

"You think so?"

Smiles brightly, looking down at her dress and swaying slightly.

"Thanks! I loved the colours. And yay for holiday and weekend time! It felt like my summer was never going to get here. But now I can relax and try to make the most of the next month or so before the new school year begins again and another 11 months of chaos starts once more!"

A sip from her glass and she looks at him over the rim.

"Got anything exciting happening in the coming days?"

Indeed I do.

*His eyes follow her hips as she does her little sway*

Going on a date night with my girlfriend saturday and playing some Magic tonight at my local comic shop.

"That sounds pretty exciting to me," she smiles warmly, "date nights are always lovely."

Another sip is taken and she turns to lean back against the bar slightly, allowing her to still see him and the beautiful scenery at the same time.

"It's one of the few things that I wish Mr Brit and I got more chances to do, but when we do manage to get time together we always make the most of it so I can't complain. Not really. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time though!"

I'm looking forward to it. Though this place is pretty nice too. Lovely views. Inside and out.

*He winks and finishes his drink, working on mixing a different one for a replacement*

"Sounds very nice indeed."

She drains her own drink and debates having a third or taking a swim before she's possible too tipsy to do it safely.

"And the pool sounds very nice right now."

With very little fanfare she peels her dress up over her head and places it on the bar, along with her sunglasses, leaving her in a black swimdress with a rather plunging neckline.

"Keep an eye on these for me?" She asks with a grin. "Clothes, dresses in particular, have a habit of disappearing around here from what I've heard."

A giggle and a skip and she bounces to the pool and dives in.

Sure thing.

*He finishes mixing up a neat orange concoction and pours it through a strainer into a highball glass. His eyes follow the dress, then the neckline of her swimdress, then her backside as she skips to the pool. His grin grows wider as he watches her plunge into the water. It looks rather inviting.*

She swims around a little, revelling in the feeling of the water against her skin before swimming to the side and looking towards fr33k and the bar.

"It's amazing in here. If it didn't mean I'd look like a prune, I swear I'd live in the water if I could!"

She holds onto the edge with her fingers and lets her feet rise up from the bottom of the pool to kick lazily behind her.

Well, I think I'll tuck your dress in the safe back here for security and join you. Mention of living in the water reminds me of mermaids.

*He ducks below the bar and stashes Brit's glasses and dress in the safe, pulling his own shirt off and leaving it on the bar folded neatly before striding over to the pool and slipping under the surface in one smooth motion, breaching a moment later and pushing his hair out of his eyes*

Damn, the water does feel really nice.

She openly watches as he sheds his shirt and comes to join her. Letting her feet drift back down to the bottom and turning so she's facing his direction when he breaks the surface.

"Right?"

She grins, watching water beading and running down his neck and shoulders for a moment.

"And mermaids make me think of two things. Tipton, which I miss ever so much. And our thread which never got started. One day perhaps..."

A wink of a blue eye while her arms trail back and forth in the water on either side of her.

*The older man looks at the bottle of "Jack", which he is holding. It's three quarters empty*

"I'm feeling much better now. Thank you! The water does look inviting. Is there room for another"?

One day. I'll have to dust off the old intro and see what work it needs. For now though...

*He moves a bit closer to her, not quite touching but near enough that a few errant water droplets find their way to her exposed shoulders. He reaches up and brushes them away though with wet hands is a bit of an ironic action. A wide grin spreads as the skin to skin contact sends a tingle along his forearms and spine*

She giggles at the drops of water that drip down onto her skin before shivering ever so slightly at the feel of his hands stroking along her shoulders. The water isn't cold and neither are his hands, she looks up almost shyly into his eyes knowing her slight shudder have nothing to do with temperature.

"For now...?"

She repeats softly, leaning towards him ever so slightly, her arms drifting forwards beneath the surface of the water to brush his sides.

*Several responses cross his mind, but the one he settles on is simply to lean in and kiss her, the water sloshing a bit as their bodies come together. The first contact is light, followed by firmer pressure from both lips and fingertips. After a long pause he pulls back with an even wider grin in his face.*

Which means it is a quarter full :)

Yes please :)

*the older man goes around the other side of the bar and picks up two clean glasses. Coming back around the bar, he starts to pour the remaining whiskey. When both glasses have an equal amount, he hands one to the new guy*

"Cheers mate!! It's kills the pain! So, tell me your sad story."

He looks toward the playful Brit." I'm used to threesomes. Just not at the same time. But there are always exceptions".

*Wakes up at the bar, mumbling something and groaning faintly. He retrieves a caffeinated beverage from behind the bar and sips at it gingerly. He gets caught up on the conversation and pats orca on the back.*

I'm sorry that happened to you. Here's hoping we both find better luck in matters of the heart in the near future.

*hopes nobody remembers his drunken promise to match heartbreak stories, since somber subjects have been repudiated.*

"I'm sorry Shark", *looking down at the now empty bottle* "I would offer you a drink. But the bottle is empty. Funny, I seem to recall something about a lost love, and a Mercedes, but I can't remember which come first".

*Orca, the older man now smiling*, "It's a good thing I can't remember what day it is. Ms Brit, you look lovely in the water.

"Is there some coffee around"?

Skips out across the deck in a pretty swimsuit with a white sarong loosely tied around her hips, and flip flops that slap on the floor, she dances towards the pool and dives in joyfully, a splash of water her first greeting. Rising from the cool, clear pool, she looks up with a big smile to find a strawberry daiquiri sitting on the poolside. She lifts it, and takes a sip.

Just what I need after a long, long day at work. Oh, and the water is just fine.

*smiles and waves at Serps, eating a tangerine popsicle.*

Welcome back, hope your day was superb.

He slips back in to the pool party and decides to take a dip in the ocean. He leaves a towel and his shirt on a chair, then walks down the steps of the deck before testing the temperature of the ocean water.

It's cool. Much cooler than the pool. But...it isn't cold. It's refreshing. He smiles and slips in and then starts wading out a bit.

*the older man takes his sandals off, pulls his shirt over his head deciding the time had come to take a dip. The water was like tonic for him. Washing away bad memories, and leaving only peace. Could he find love again? Could it be here? Maybe.*
