Oh what high cleverness to misspell both dummy and dickhead. This moron must have had both neurons working full blast to crank this comment out. Well gutless wanker you had your 15 seconds of fame, but you cannot claim it; it is Anonymous.

you rock, ishtat you rock too, as far as writing and comments

we've been through this before.

why give them any play at all?

don't erase their comments. if you do, you assist their survival by assuring that threads like this reappear every two months, as they have for a year.

fuck 'em.

go read the "Maria Rocks" thread instead. talk about someone worth talking about.

Come on Pat, get's the mouse out of the house, gives me a chance to point out a few people leave wonderful comments over there. Shit, half of 'em disagreed with me at one time or another, but I love 'em all.
If nothing else it got ishtat support and he will leave more comments, you and Ange are not over there often leaving comments. The place is starving for comments; comments can and should be used as an educational tool.
The mouse was created because of these nasty anonymous comment leavers, I've used him twice on only the most moronic leavings I've seen, come to think of it it is about every two months, I guess he's due out 3 more times till year's end.

If you wish you and Ange can leave a few over there, help raise the average. :rose: :rose: :rose:

that this incident of a fellow author's work being attacked spurred Me to post My very first thread reply? I have made mention to a few here on the site that I stay away from the gossip and arguments {no, I don't consider constructive criticism or helpful discussions negative conversation - that's what forums are all about, right?}, but found going to the boards and commenting on those that I feel really deserve encouragement and praise and a pat on the back for their efforts at hand to be My way of showing comaraderie in the best use possible of My limited free time. I feel comfortable in My way of expressing My support in that I only vote 5's {or I don't vote at all} and I take a great deal of time choosing My words for a comment to express My enjoyment of that particular work. If I have anything to suggest about someone's work {I am not qualified, in My opinion, to offer actual critiques on poems}, I will do so in a private feedback to that author. I am adamant in My belief you draw the best out of people with kindness - not sarcasm or cutting remarks - and I will stand by that creed to My dying day.
As far as comments on My own pieces... I agree with bogusbrig on that and have, in fact, left all of the critical comments on My works {but for one that simply made no sense to Me} for the same reasons as he explained, but with one other reason, too: when I feel the need to pull Myself in check and view My work from another's eyes, I will especially re-read those negative comments to get back on My toes with My current work. They keep Me balanced and in a place that is known as "Reality" and a place where I need to be in order to reach My goal of becoming a GOOD published author. All of those critiques, by the way, are honorable ones as they have been signed other than with the cowardly, sniveling generic dweeb name "anonymous". They will remain on My work.

I promise, I will do my best, even if I see 4 cliches in a row :rose: :rose: :rose:

your motives are pure, and my hat's off to you.

i have, and still do, read every poem posted both in "new poems" and on the threads since last july. but i have been burned one too many times (and watched others burned, both commenters and reviewers) by people who mistake constructive criticism for personal attack and have thirteen different kinds of conniptions.

as i saw it (since i don't want to comment on some and not others), i had two choices. either stop commenting, or lie. i chose the former.

many people send me poems by pm if they want my opinion, for whatever it's worth. and i do the same.

if anyone wants my honest opinion, which is exactly what they'll get, they know where to find me.

but in your crusade against anonymity and assholes, you know whose side i am on.

yours.

In OUR crusade for the betterment of the art, our paths and opinions my diverge from time to time...

There is a difference between constructive criticism or even not so constructive criticism and moronic droppings, hopefully after a carefull reading here, people will be a little less sensitive to criticism. Criticism is an honest viewpoint from a person, that person is a person, your poem failed that person, it may be a near perfect poem, it failed that person. In this case...
I would not have bothered if the comment had mentioned that this is an erotic site and he was disappointed that he couldn't find any, left a name and a score other than a zero.
I suspect this was singled out for anti-Semitic reasons, as there was a hell of lot others that had nothing to do with erotica, without the comment..
but maybe I'm paranoid :rose: :rose: :rose:

Can I suggest that if anyone else is tempted to comment on this thread that they think again, then go and comment on another poem or better still write some poetry.

The only reason this poem was singled out was it happened to be top of the list for most of the day in question.

The irony is that this work has some significant flaws the most basic of which was picked up straight away by the lovely Tristesse. :)

Just a small request...

I believe I have somehow given the impression to some of My astute fellow Literoticans that I would take offence at receiving intelligent suggestions at bettering My work if they posted their name on the comment. This is far, far from the truth. I really don't take My "poetry" as seriously as I do My stories because they are what I consider My coffee breaks for My mind when I am eyeball deep in a chapter of My novel. I will be the very first to admit I have no real talent as a poet, but merely enjoy posting My efforts to get the reading reactions of My colleagues based on the storyline or topic I have used rather than the particulars that make up a true poem in the structured sense of the craft. So please, if the poet who left a comment on My latest work would send Me a private feedback telling Me who you are, I would like to personally thank you along with each individual that takes the time to comment on My work. In your comment, you gave Me another avenue of thought to better My work that had never crossed My mind before, and can only make for a more interesting variable in future pieces. Please allow Me the opportunity to thank you personally.
This thread was developed for one reason I know, but in the last few posts here I have seen other issues, and more importantly, other solutions, resolutions, and other tactics from poet/authors that have expressed their feelings both good and bad regarding our site. If for no other reason than to share our thoughts with one another on being helpful and constructive commentators on the boards, I believe this thread should remain alive.
I hope you feel the same.

I Agree with Laura, this thread is a good place for fellow authors to come and discuss comments left on their work and others, also to ask advice or seek others opinions, therefore hopefully this thread will remain open... :)

Dear Vixx, Laura--

YOU kick out work like Kiss Assasin and say you have no real talent as apoet? thats a load a hooey. Im gonna go look now. sometimes people here think everytihng posted here was meantto be "great" Hang in there, you ROCK, WV, I always value Your comments and vision...I saw the comment and it seemed kind and genuine. Some people like long lines, some dont.

I got a PC mentioning "meter" in my new poem, ( but they missed teh obvious mistakes like the non matching pronouns and possessives) and most people here know that I have little knowledge of technique, terms and stuff like that, so yeah, the comment is valid, just a little hostile and it is anon, so I understand how you feel. Honest Fb should be worn proudly.and with a name and :)

Hello Maria!!!

;) THANK YOU for such a kind reply on My very firstest of thread comments! lol. I always like to believe that some other good comes out of something that may have originally been spawned for a totally different cause, and I think that is what's happening here on the "The lowest of the low" thread. I really would like to keep this thread going for people like us who want to see the commentator numbers grow {especially on the poetry side of Lit} as well as offer suggestions as to how to draw the best from people in their work without causing the hurt feelings and/or anger that tends to obscure the valuable imput usually found in the comments. I think if anyone as interested as we are in helping our fellow Literoticans achieve their wanted potential honestly and effectively would come here and share their priceless opinions with us, we would all benefit from it immeasurably! I know I would!!!
I have noticed recently a greater number of new members on the poetry side, too. I remember when I was new on the poet's side of the Lit block. I was scared to death that I would be laughed at by My novice attempts at poetry. I was one of the lucky ones. Even though I look back at those early works and nearly cringe with embarrassment knowing they are just fluff, I also know I had many of our finest poets take Me under their wing and nurture the little bit better and the little more better out of Me. Wouldn't it be nice to have enough seasoned commentators give their invaluable suggestions to our new offspring of poets now? I would like to know they each will have that same good fortune as I did.
I would like to start the ball rolling with a topic we can discuss and share our own applications we actively use when reading the poetry for any given day. And that topic is:
"What do you look for in a poem to determine if you are going to comment on it?"
I think that should get a lot of us thinking about what to write to draw those comments, hmmm? <wink> I do hope all that see this will want to improve our site by offering a little time and expertise in whatever area{s} they feel they can contribute. Judging from a few of the responses above , there are authors here {including Myself} that eagerly await your feedback on this thread.
And many thanks to: anonamouse {who started this worthy crusade}, Jennifer C., bogusbrig, don, saldne, Art, Maria and everyone else who has responded on this thread. You are all very special authors that Literotica can be proud of!!!

hey Laura:)

I do want to say that I know there are a LOT of very gifted poets here who ued to comment and dont much anymore. I know some of them have stated they stopped because of having been " bitten" orthe like. I understand that and respect it and it doesnt make me look at your work any differently.

It is a noble cause to wantto makethis place better, but in all fairness, most folks come here to relax, read, maybe turn out a few lines, some dont need the grief and the fall out of the frequent commenting. Thats why I stopped doing reviews. I like making people happy and it was impossible so I stopped trying.

For me to comment on a poem, ( going to your last post) the poem must make me feel something. Or see something, it should have a voice of its own. If it speaks to me, then maybe I comment. sometime I offer constructive comments, but I do sign them... if anyone has any question that I might be "someone else" ( wink to 1201) just ask, I wont lie ;) keep writing and smile :)

current

there has been a lot of activity on this thread since it started. i do think in all fairness that a suitable arrangement be made to stop those that attack writers for no reason but to stir up the writers - be they beginners or experienced. the situation is this: beginners wont hang around if there are a few bad apples in the basket. it is difficult from the perspective of - if we just go about our business and just let them continue, it would be like a terrorist cell. that is what is happening. this is the last place for one to hang around in. i know opinions have varied here, but there seems to be a consensus that there indeed is a problem. i'm just a virgin in lit., and i'd like for it to be nice and tight in here. the bottom line is: is it better to let them run wild and let them attack at random, or sometimes on certain individuals?

I agree with everything you have written and would just like to pick up on something you said, you said that when you first started writing you were scared of what people might think of your work but other authors supported you, well I would like to thank you for supporting me! I didn't get established quickly on here and I'm still not particually well known but it's people like you (and many others) who support and encourage that keep me writing and striving to do better. Literotica is mainly such a friendly welcoming place which is why nasty, vicious comments piss us all off so much! But I think there are far more talented, encouraging and kind hearted people than there are 'anonymous' dickheads so while I will do all I can to fight those people I am still proud to be a part of this site... :)

thats what its about ...being supportive of efforts of one another...tis vital to the creative energy of all..for we are all one in the sisterhood of love...be blessed /blue

As far as the anonymous comments go, why can't we just treat them to the attention they deserve and ignore them. Any comment may be deleted so that it doesn't need to sit there and insult you for ever.

The point guzzler is another problem that only Manu and Laurel can deal with. As long as this system last so will the mean minded pricks' dirty deeds.

I agree with blue about the supportive element - it is far stronger than the negative.

You do a great job of letting people know you've read and enjoyed their works, Jenn. I wish I was as dedicated as you. I do read 'em all, just don't take the time to say I have. I know I should.

Thank you

Thanks Tristesse, Not everybody has the time to comment on everyones work, I don't really, infact I probably spend more time on here than I should (You should see the pile of ironing I still have to do! lol) but I do what I can because as I have said before it's all the lovely comments I've had on my work that has kept me writing and hopefully getting better at it! i try and encourage others as others have encouraged me... :)

Thank you, My sisterhood...

:nana: for responding with your opinions on this problem. And I agree we can let these rude and crude comments have their moments on the feedback portal and then with just a click, heave them into cyberspace where they belong. My main objective here is to rally as many fellow authors to support the posts {whether they be poetry or stories}as often as they can with both voting and commenting. I see, rather sadly, a very sharp decline in both areas and although I realize we all have busy lives with priorities that obviously take precedence over voting and commenting here at Lit, we should give some of our time here up for the acknowledgment of fellow authors; both old and new. If we make the time to write and submit expecting others to read, vote, and comment on our work, then we should be reciprocal. I strongly believe when we show some earnest attention to others, it will provide our site with the best of the best and we will all benefit from a win win situation.
Although I am a proud mom of six and grandma of thirteen and have a huge family to brag about, I still have plenty of room in My heart for My family here at Literotica. and you know what?
I have plenty of room for more! :)

Well put Laura, If we expect or would even just like others to read, vote and comment our work then we should try and spare a little time to do the same to others... :)
