I’m painting my toe nails as we speak.
I was choosing between OPI Russian Navy and My Private Jet.

My Private Jet it is. An all time favourite.
The Russian Navy can wait. I need some glitter in my life.

It’s a dark chocholate brown, like when the winter night sky is a cool purply brown and the glitter is a but holoshimnery and not too in your face.

Hmm, I might have to look if I can find this color. I don’t have that many browns and I’ve been into sparkly toes recently.

That’s very Halloween-y! How does this shape work for you?

I imagine my nails would break in a heartbeat if they were this pointy so I’ve never tried. I have to admit, though, that there are moments where I wish I had proper scratching nails like that.

They are extentions actually. I have super short nails naturally. They weren't too hard to shape but I do feel like I'm gonna poke my eye out at some point

That’s another concern I’ve had about that nail shape… Or how they might affect masturbation.

But I really like the thought of having sharp nails for scratching purposes at times.

I don’t know why bright blues make me feel very insecure and super conscious of my nails but they do. It feels too flashy.

Sometimes stepping out of the comfort zone is just what the doctor ordered, though.

I bought a really beautiful shimmery green nail polish last summer, but it was a total bust. It looks great in the bottle, but on the nail it had basically zero coverage and it took about 5 layers to get even some coverage.

I tried it on top of black creme polish and it’s pretty much everything I hoped it would be when I first bought it.

(Pic taken before shower or washing hands after putting on the nail polish, hopefully water should take care of the smudges.)

My go-to when I’m stressed is ripping off my nail polish and then my nails, so I feel you in your chewing woes. I would probably chew mine too if it wasn’t for the nail polish. Very high stress times here recently!

I’m looking forward to your contributions! Short nails look nice with polish too, so no need to wait until yours grow before posting here, though.

I’ve only once gotten a comment on my nails at work and it was that my nails look a little “man-eaterish”. I wasn’t sure what to think of it. If it was a weird way to make me wear less bright colors, it definitely hasn’t worked. I still wear what my mood dictates.

This is why I indulge in nail polish colour mania by painting my toe nails.

I don’t even have to be stressed out. I just can’t handle when they are uneven or the polish is chipped. Then I start picking and it is all downhill from there.

Being distracted by or totally engulfed in a book or movie or problem, will do it too sometimes.

I noticed the same the last time I had short nails - red looked really good!

Christmas toenails was China Glaze’s Ruby Pumps.
New Year nails are OPI’s Amazon, Amazoff (slightly bluish green) with OPI’m a gem (a dense bueish green and black glitter with bigger silvery holoflakes).

Amazon, Amazoff is so pretty!

I’m wearing Gadget free by Essie on fingers. Toes are disco balls, that I got done before Christmas because I wanted really sparkly toes for party reasons.

Christmas fingers were Mavala’s Red Vinyl which is a pretty perfect Christmas red for me.

When I painted my toenails last time, I thought I’d go with pink for Valentine’s, so I went with essence’s Did you mist me and topped it with Essie’s Hello World.
It turns out that the geyish, silvery pink in combination with wintery feet, makes for a very frostbitten look, so I think I’ll change it up already.
