Both are lovely colors. I really need to resist buying more polish. 🫣

Fingers still Essie Sheers to you.
Toes are Unrepentantly Red - Opi Infinite Shine 2.

Have questions too:
Essie Gel Couture, if you’ve tried it, yay or nay?
Is the top coat very special? I’m very happy with Seche Vite and I’m not sure the Gel Couture is worth a try. Seche Base with 2 layers of quality polish and Seche Vite will stay on my toenails for a minimum of two weeks and usually the reason I have to remove it is that the outgrowth is visible.
The reason I’m curious to try the gel variety, is that it doesn’t hold as well on fingernails. It usually chips at the ends or I start picking at it at the cuticle and I can’t stand unevenness, so then I have to remove it.

Metallics are good.

6d Common Nails - KYA FASTENERS

Ohh, .... wait .....

I haven’t tried it, so can’t comment on that.

But as you mentioned base costs too… I’ve started to use Essence Extreme Last Base Coat and it’s the best I’ve used and it costs absolute peanuts compared to Essie and the likes. I don’t usually use top coat on my toes at all, and with that base coat it lasts good until I need to remove it because of growth.

I’ve been meaning to try Seche Vite. Maybe I’ll buy it next when I run out of whatever (not good) it is that I’m using now.

Thank you for the tip. I’ve noticed they have Essence a lot here too. I haven’t had a favourite base coat since Orly’s rubbery one that I can’t find anywhere.
Seche Base is not bad and the bottle lasts long, but it’s pricey.

I found a place here that has Zoya polishes too. Trying to brace myself!

The Essence one is a little rubbery. I think it’s excellent quality for the price. :)

I’ll see if I can find it here.
Google tells me Lyko has Essence, but couldn’t find that one there.

Prices are really great!
Here they sell the brand in grocery stores. It’s meant to be very attainable, a non-luxe brand and it shows in where they sell it, too, which I think is great. I have a vague recollection that it’s a German brand.

They also have good mascaras. :)

Oh, I forgot Essence exists, I haven’t seen it around in a long time. I remember liking the products I tried but can’t even remember what they were. Weird.

Seche Vite has some great top coats but I would not recommend the Looks Wet one. I have it and can never get it to dry properly, so it more than just looks wet. It bubbles a lot and tends to stay soft so I inevitably end up with nicks in the finish. The other dry quick formula works really nicely though.

I have 2 that I got at costco and I like them. It doesn't chip like regular polish. I'd say it lasts at least 1 week.

Feminine by Mavala really might be the most feminine nail polish I have. Metallic pink that sometimes looks a little rose gold-y and sometimes just very pink.

I’m getting a pedicure on Wednesday, unless I chicken out. I’m trying to think in advance what color nails I should get, because the gift I was given includes gel nails so I’ll be stuck with the color for some time. The masochist in me is kind of pushing for classic red but is it just too difficult in practice? I won’t always be wearing red on my finger nails so would it be better to have something a little more neutral on toes? Gah, this is so difficult.

Welp, now I’m looking for Mavala sellers. 🥹 this is a really pretty color.

I tend to go crazy on toe nails and neutral or classic on fingernails

It is a pretty color. It’s not entirely me, but I’ve been trying to stretch my horizons a little lately and try things that feel a little uncharacteristic for me. This is one of those things. The color is growing on me. ☺️

I’m definitely overthinking this now. It’s rare that anybody other than J sees my toes anyway, so it really isn’t such a big deal. I’m just nervous about the pedicure and it’s manifesting in weird ways. Still haven’t canceled it, though, so that’s something! I’ll have to do it by 4pm tomorrow if I’m going to cancel it, so there’s still time…
