The new football thread

Believe me when I say that debate is continuous here in the states. I agree with you that it's unfair, but a remedy would likely introduce other inequities, some unintended.

I believe your Premier League has no playoffs? Is the thinking that winning the Champions League is the ultimate goal?

Forgive me if my questions have introduced Yankee heresy. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
You don't need playoffs in the Premier League because all 22 teams play each other twice (home and away), and after 42 games, it would only make the competition more unfair. I appreciate that the system could not work in the NFL because the season would be too long. After all, American football is a much tougher game.

The Champions League has both a league and a playoff system because thirty-two teams from the best teams in Europe compete. It is easier for an English team to win the Premier League than the Champions League because, with a very few exceptions, the strongest European teams are invariably English. The holy grail remains to win the Premiere League.

A few years back in their glory years, the New England Patriots had a record of 11-5, but they didn't win their division and did not make the playoffs.

Brady was hurt that year and Matt Cassel wasn’t going to take them to the promised land. 🙃

Josh Allen might need to score 40 + to win today.

And I'd venture to say most of the country hasn't seen many Jaguar games, even the commentators(Nantz and Romo) but they are good just saying.

Probably just me but I didn’t think either team deserved to win this game. IDK, both teams looked bored.

Rams haven't had a playoff game in Chicago since 85-86 I think, that was the 24-0 NFC championship game. 🙃

CB Marcus Jones (5-8, 188) vs. QB Justin Herbert (6-6, 236) on that third-down play -- what a tackle

Panthers should've drafted McConkey in the 2nd round two years ago when they had the chance, took the wrong one I got Dola Bill instead.

Back to the game. 🙃
