The new football thread

I'm not a fan of his personally, but that seems ridiculously wrong.
Agree with you and CA. The HOF selection process is a fucking joke. Ridiculous snub. Arguably even more egregious than not inducting Stabler, the greatest of his era, to the HOF until he passed away from cancer decades after he finished his career.

I’m sure he doesn’t have a ton of fans (sportswriters voting) but I heard Bill Polian had something to do with it. Funny because Polian is a supporter of Robert Kraft so if Kraft gets in and Belichick is out, there’s something rotten in Denmark.

Proof you can buy awards. Sanders gets a Pro Bowl nod. Seriously fucked up. Bill gets snubbed...more seriously fucked up. Brady doesn't deserve a First Ballot then...cause two of his was because the Defense made plays...

Don't forget the 2 Championships as a Defensive Coordinator
And a girlfriend 49 years younger than him. Didn’t have to go to an Asian massage parlor like Kraft did. Seems like he oughta get some points for stamina and sex appeal.

Belichick will get elected in the next year or two. I think some of the reporters are just grinding their axes a bit.

If that’s the case he should send Sacheen Littlefeather to the podium to refuse the honor. 🪶

I had to look her up. I don't think BB will decline though.

I bet this one year will be all of the whining / no voting that the involved media does.

Some are saying it was a calculated one year rejection as a form of protest over spygate. Others are suggesting it was done to help other coaches who might not get another shot at being an HOF nominee, recognizing BB’s enshrinement is a sure thing.

Funny side note about Polian. He denies being part of any conspiracy to shut BB out and said he actually voted for him. Then later he said wasn’t 100% sure he voted for him. Like he’d forget something like that. 😂

Yes on this - calculated one year rejection. On Spygate and the fact he had his ass on his shoulders alot when doing media stuff.

Of course he will get in soon. I have never seen a coach better at both judging talent and also knowing when to let a player go. He was the best ever at the pro level.

I was just reminded that there is FOOTBALL ON TV TODAY! The Senior Bowl is on the NFL Network at 2:30 pm ET. It’s a marquee college scouting event. Always a good preview of what will be coming in the 2026 NFL Draft this spring.

NFC West getting picked clean of their coordinators.
Sean McVay has had 4 OCs become head coaches since taking the helm with the Rams and keeps winning games. Great coach and great leader. Supports his staff, encourages their career growth, and it’s why top flight talent in the early stages of their careers want to work for him.

Minnesota kept the wrong QB,sure it's Darnold but the guy went 14-3 last year and same this year.

Cost the GM his job betting on a rookie.

Betting on the wrong rookie.

McCarthy looked like a bust at Michigan and made zero sense to be drafted at all, much less in the first round
