The NEW UK Kink Thread

Mal, I had a dream the other night that you and Belle were in! We were at a spa, and you two and we, and weirdly my brother in law and his wife were all in a jacuzzi and you and G were being sensible and Belle and I kept catching each other's eye and giggling. I think my BIL asked how we knew each other and Belle and I were just Trying hard NOT to look at each other :D

Chuckle yeah, those kind of questions are hard to answer sometimes! :)

Love it when I get strange dreams like that :)

Busy busy day here, snow has disappeared now, but we still have a monolithic snowman in the middle of the back lawn :D

Anyone heard anything from Daisy or Lally?

Hee, that is a funny dream :D.

Well, I have switched to gentle activity on a cycling machine instead of running and that seems a lot better on the knee. My hip complained a little, but not half as much as my knee did when I was running. And yes, I have booked in to see a physio .

running on a bad knee is just crazy when there are so many less weight baring exercises that can be done.
if you havent done a lot of cycling then the hips may well take a little time to get used to the movement.
you dont like swimming?:)

Hmm, I love swimming, I just don't like the extra time of going to a pool, the freezing cold wetness and the stress of figuring out which bit of the pool I am meant to be in (I don't see very well). Plus I have memories of getting verrucas and ear infections from pools...
I love swimming in the sea. If you could arrange for that to be a bit warmer, that would be just dandy :D

I love running for it's simplicity. Just stretch, put on the trainers and go. But will see what the physio says. Maybe I shouldn't run at all. Or maybe I have just been running in a funny way
... ooo, that makes me think of John Cleese and his ministry of funny walks :D

my calves stopped me running for years. still cant go far now.
you may be over or under prodinating when you run.
try buying a rowing machine or stepper.
not worth injury trying to run.

Oo, a cautionary tale then. I under pronate. I did have a gait analysis before getting my trainers too, but doesn't guarantee they gave me what I need.

Fortunately I now sometimes have access to a gym and slightly more often a cycling machine. So I can try other things. I would have thought a rowing machine would be pretty hard going on the knees, no?

Me and Master have decided we both need to lose a bit of weight and exercise a bit more and are using an app to help us track that. I won't get into it properly until after next week (wisdom tooth op ).

Thank you Elle. I am very nervous about it, so am staying with Master until then. He is a calming and distracting influence :D

Today I went to see the physio. Good news is that my knee is ok, yey! Bad news, as my physio said, is I have rubbishy posture, poor balance and a weak butt  So my poor thigh has been trying to compensate and is aching lots from it all.

It felt like quite the S&M session as he pummelled my leg, taped it up and then took a rolling pin to it  ... and next time he wants to stick pins in!

And I have homework with a tennis ball.
Thinking about the long term to get through the short term :)

Hey, that's GREAT news not bad news! it means there is stuff to work with to help you a lot! its super news! Think how great your body will feel when you have worked on those problems!!

Acupuncture doesn't hurt at all, for me it was not useful, but in have seen animals who even enjoy it done, so its worth trying!

Physio was grim for me too. My physio is devoid of personality, which really doesn't help at all. ( better than being abrasive I suppose, but its left to me to motivate myself through) and it left me Sore and grump and tired.. I could have gone back every day this week, but in truth I couldn't even get down stairs today:eek:. I think we might have started with too much enthusiasm.:). The leg I usually favour was obviously working really hard in the two leg exercises because its seriously immobile today. :D.. I didn't sleep terribly well, so I am hoping after a good night's sleep it all feels better for tomorrow, but G will be taking me in tomorrow in any case, for the next session, and I think I'll have to ask to take it a bit easier, because i don't want to be so immobile, its not practical on the days I am alone because of things like dogs and stuff.

On the plus side, my back feels really strong. :D

Oh Elle, I love your positivity! :D

My physio is lovely. Before he inflicted anything he had the courtesy of saying "You can scream at me and swear at me, but you are not allowed to hit me" :D hee hee

Yes, definitely going to be a case of more pain before less pain. Got my tennis ball and that is one mean tennis ball

Hope your physio goes well and well, good that the back is feeling strong at least x

I discovered quick-dry nail varnish today. Why did no one tell me about this?

Best of luck LucyBee, try to get some quiet r+r afterwards.

Hi Elle - 'cos delivery companies have inconvenience radar

Hi to anyone else around today :)

Thank you SV and Elle for your good wishes.

Yes, it went pretty well. I was the last to be seen and it was harder to remove the tooth than expected, but they managed to get it out in one piece. I have stitches and a tender and swollen jaw. No sign of bruises... yet. And a sore throat from them putting a tube down my throat (to do with general anaesthetic-which am v glad I had in retrospect). I was nervous about having general anaesthetic but it was fine and the anaesthetist was lovely. In fact all the staff were lovely.

Very grateful to my parents for picking me up in my groggy state and now looking after me for a couple of days .

Will definitely take it easy for a few days.

I'm very glad to hear that it went okay. Might we see you at the London Munch on Friday evening?

My burning question is: are you in any condition to eat chocolate chip cookies? ;)
