The NEW UK Kink Thread

Glad you're back safe Lally!

Yeah, football not my thing either, but then, few sports are.

Morning all

Hope everyone is rested and happy this morning?

Well, I was still mentally driving at 4 am so no, not really! :D

Popped into work briefly but the rest of the day and week is my own, so I'm not complaining.

Hope everyone else is ok :)

Came home to the house in a state, so spent the day tidying.
Shattered after yesterday, could really use a long sleep.
Really enjoyed watching a bull whip demo, there are some amazing users out there!

Apparently today is cake and cunnilingus day today and Thursday is whip your masochist day.
Looks like I am out of luck on both counts.

Morning all

Another day, another run south. Hope you're all sleeping well.

Daisy, there'll be other times to celebrate those. I've still not managed any of those kind of events even when I had a sub :(

Next year maybe for all of us!

*hug

You mean we only get one day a year???? :D I love cake.....I'm going to complain....

And greetings all from Fleet services. Once again I flogged down to Southampton for a grand total 90 minutes on site and am already most of the way back to london for the next site.

I think you both should have cake today!... especial Daisy who's been denied a free lunch.

Exactly :D

Fruit for starters, bacon for main course, and cake for dessert! :D

Being good and not having cake... but might say fuck it and have pizza. Days like today remind me why I do not drive in London if I can help it.

I didn't get any cake, but I had ice cream.

Might get a day to myself tomorrow (woot) the kids are going out with grandparents.
Need to get some floggers sent out. And do some report writing (boooo)

Morning from somewhere between theydon Bois and Debden. Hope you all slept well.

Daisy. Reports suck. You have my sympathy.

Decided to walk between sites today. Nice cup of tea and some strawberries in St James park listening to fantasia on a theme by Thomas Talis. Very cultured.

Oooh lovely! Sounds almost decadent ;)

I got far less done that I planned, but did make inroads into the reports.

Such a lovely day, I went into town and had lunch on the terrace :) it was really nice to feel the sun on my skin.

Feel like I spend all my time marketing, need to get more work in and a decent website :( I wish I was tekkie!

Hope you have a good trip home Mal :)
Lally, enjoy your run

Xxxx

Thanks Bert, feeling much more with it today.
Sometimes life gangs up a bit :(
A little pain stimulus yesterday and I am far perkier today lol!!

I have just noticed the quantity of chocolate eggs my kids are accumulating, it's obscene! I think I will be making cakes!!

I have to start preparing for Brighton Twisted Market next sunday. I am going to reduce some of the older stock to make way for the better designs I now have :)

I am making pretty twist braids now, which look so much nicer, and I have a better leather supplier, so the new stuff is nicer.

I have been watching videos on whip braiding, I am really interested in having a go. Whip crack away!!! Lol
I have to admit, I love cracking whips. I wouldn't want to use one on a person, but I love the art of cracking.

Morning all.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend so far?

For the sake of discussion:

Could an American expatriate if he ever were to find himself residing in the UK get away with using the somewhat stilted speech patterns and idioms of the posh, whilst retaining his American accent?

-or would it seem a pretentious affectation?

It would sound extremely odd, but very funny, so please go right ahead :D

Turning the table the other way, I've noticed that there are many English actors in US TV series - do they get your accents right?

surprisingly so. I am always amused when I realize that for example Hugh Laurie is not a "native speaker"

I think part of it is that there are so MANY legitimate "American" accents that as long as you pick your vowel sounds and what to get lazy about it rings true for SOMEWHERE.

For example there is a HUGE range of "Southern" accents. From the slow and fairly sophisticates Savana Georgia, to the almost unintelligible 'Loo z anna' Cajon accent with a bit of French mixed in.

A lot has to do with how you hold your face while speaking...in Idaho, for example they actually have a name for it.."Rock-Jaw" because you don't move it as you articulate. I have a theory about that...you see similar patterns way across the country in Minnesota and Wisconsin...I think it's the cold...dont want your face to crack!

I have lived all over the US and slip into whatever local dialect in a day or two...I have to consciously watch it lest the locals think I am goofing on them.
