Hi all,
Been an up and down day. But did get to see some lovely colleagues and go for a quick pint with them too after work. Actually, mine was a dead fancy cocktail. With a huge price tag. Don't think we will go to THAT bar again. Interestingly, in the ladies toilets, the wallpaper was of different sexual positions. That was quite entertaining.

Morning folks, and how are we all this fine day? Lovely morning here, mist on the river when I got up, nice run up to the office, and all the makings of a fine day Pity I'm stuck inside
That wallpaper sounded interesting LucyBee, was it 'inspiring', or more like 'is that even possible'? Probably not a good idea for home though, especially with a 6 year old around!!
Elle, I totally agree, mattresses really do need to be tested for all eventualities
Actually, IKEA give you 90 days to exchange one of their mattresses if you're not happy with it, and try another one. They even do sizes to fit UK bed frames these days, too.

Morning all!
Had my first night's sleep on the new mattress last night and I really, really didn't want to get out of bed this morning I consider my purchase a success!
Today is good so far. Lots of writing, lots of research, and a fair few coffees

Morning everyone!
Gorgeous day...I walked through the mist over the hills and was lucky to see it lift in a matter of seconds - it just melted away leaving a bright blue sky and hot sunshine. Beautiful.
Stuck in work now, but heading out to do my very best David Bailey impression around Horsforth which is a very pleasant place to do a bad David Bailey impression, especially in the sunshine
Lucy, cocktails after work one night a week should be a national right. You should get a voucher with your pay slip. Especially for the ridiculously expensive ones. We have a hidden gin bar in Leeds which does the most fabulous gin and elderflower cocktail, in a china teapot, which will set you back £25. I don't care though, it is totally worth it, especially if you dress up and get all spiffy!
Elle, we got our mattress from our local bed store. It's deeper than my head, and sprung right to the edge amd took around 3 months to be made. it is the only thing we have spent any money on in the new house - a good night's sleep is worth any amount of money!

Ever had a Pornstar Martini? It tastes like Solero ice cream and comes with a slice of passion fruit and a shot of Prosecco on the side

The cocktail was a Dorset Donkey: vodka, cherry liquer, lime juice, honey, ginger ale, blueberries and sage. I think that's it!!! It was yummy even if it cost £8.

Ommynomnom...that sounds fab. All sweet and sharp! I do love the Isle of Wight, but I've only been there for the festival so I haven't really got to see it properly.
Today has been so much fun, taking photos in the sunshine! Hard work, eh?

Another nice day winding down to my time off tomorrow - half day this morning, then off to Headingley to do the second part of my Rugby World Cup training this afternoon...then off for five days! Longest time off since Christmas and I am so very ready for it!
