I've been seeing this reported by several news outlets over the past month or so. I edit a newsletter and I'm intentionally trying to write less complicated text so it reads at a 5th-6th grade level. It's so sad literacy and critical thinking skills are in such decline.

this is so scary....and plays into a more right wing extreme view, where people can be easily manipulated and exploited.
