Okay. slightly random, but -

Back when I lived in the suburbs there was a girl who frequented the same restaurants. She had some avant guard hair adornment thing going on. Her hair was always up, and she'd either be wearing a bird's nest or true-to-size plastic croissant on the side of her head.

Otherwise, she appeared to be perfectly sane.

I so longed to know the story behind her hair accessories, but basic politeness forbade my ever being able to ask.
