Oh this is gonna be good!!!!!! I got 5 bucks says they don't put them on stage at the same time!

I want to know what's going on in the world just as much, or maybe more, than the next guy, but WHY do all the networks have to broadcast our dear President's newsconference? Isn't that what the cable news channels are for? I want to watch Dr. Phil, damn it!

This pisses me off bigtime. I hope they find every one of these bastards and skewer them.

I know my share of the funding for this mess was probably miniscule, but I'd rather it went toward my kids' education than someone's Girls Gone Wild videos or a sex change.

I wonder if FEMA is accepting FAFSA applications.

FAFSA? I remember those works of Satan...

i heard about this on the news last night and wondered why it took so long for someone to even THINK about investigating for possible fraud... surely someone knew there had to be some.

back to my post the other day about how people don't consider the long-reaching consequences of their selfish actions... it's not just about the money but it impairs the proper function of the organization in the future. congratulations schmucks, you just created more beurocracy. (yeah, i know it's spelled wrong but i'm tired right now).

Anyone who creates spyware is on my shit list, i hate the little bastards that put this shit on computers.

I wonder who's the poor schmuck that will be made the scapegoat on this mess? Probably some poor unsuspecting joe/joan average that's just doing what he's/she's told to do.

I'm sure heads will roll though. (I also wonder who's sharpening the axe)
certainly it's not the fault of anyone in a decision-making position. the people with real power never do anything wrong.

ol' harry s. got it right when he said, "the buck stops here." even if it WAS a poker reference, the sentiment rings true.

why you cynical bastard, i'm sure there will be absolutely no scapegoating whatsoever![/deadpan]

WPMO? Me, or at least my mind, I've been called up for jury service and the logical part of my mind says that's cool, it could be a very interesting and socially responsible thing to do. The other part of my mind however just wants me to throw up and do whatever I can to get out of it, pointing out to me all the things that will stress me out about it, if this is going on in my mind now after only getting the letter (ok I got it a week ago, denial is a wonderful thing  ) how the hell am I going to be able to pay attention to anything that is going on in court, my mind just doesn't work like that. I FUCKING HATE THIS SHIT.
I've been called for jury duty too, quoll, at the local criminal court. So far I'm three for three in avoiding being on a criminal jury because I can truthfully say that I have been robbed at gunpoint. It was not a very consequential event at the time, but it has helped me with jury duty.

I did serve on a civil jury once and it was fascinating.

WPMO right now: apparently it takes 20 minutes to ladle some lentil soup into a bowl.

Having a waiter in the restaurant would have been a better solution. Eventually the cook brought my soup to me - no waiters in sight.

An offshoot: Meanwhile the government's busy making education even less affordable. In July they're raising student loan interest rates 2%, so most will be between 7 and 9 percent.

Why not cut spending and fraud like this FEMA debacle and keep interest rates low to encourage people to get educated? Shouldn't higher education be moving UP on the priority list, considering how behind we are and much it benefits society?

I am so sick of car repair places that try to pad the bill and take advantage of me just because they think they can.

I'm not saying it's been cold here or anything but my sister's toilet was frozen yesterday, not the pipes, the water in the toilet.

when my parents dont trust that I'm only filling them in on what I'm doing with the whole buying the house thing because I figured they'd want to know instead of letting them help with making a decision on what I should buy. How can they really help me anyways when they live over 2000 miles away from me now? Of course, my new favorite with it all is them telling me how the process should go when they dont know any of the laws or regulations or whatever for the state of Washington. It irritates the shit outta me the way they are right now.

It's like they dont think I'm capable of making an adult decision on my own. It really pisses me off when my father gets mad because I tell him he's starting to be a bit condescending and then he refuses to talk to me for at least a day.

The conversation I had today.. Went something like this..

"where is the other key ring for the truck?"

"Right here..." (dug it out of their pocket I looked at it and clearly say the key fob wasn't there)

"Where is the key fob?"

"Oh, it's not on here."

With a sigh and a count to ten I stop myself from saying something rude and repeat my question.

"Where is the key fob?"

"Oh, it's in the drawer..."

Why couldn't you have just answered my question you moron??

if you're going to complain about something, keep these three things in mind...

1. know WHY you're complaining. "i don't like 'x'," isn't sufficient to grant your complaint any consideration.

2. have an understanding of why what you're complaining about is how/what it is. you don't have to agree with it but you have to understand its origin and purpose.

3. have an idea of some type of resolution that would be beneficial to whomever created the thing or situation you're complaining about. clearing up your discontentment is only of concern to the offender if they can still accomplish their objective... making you happy is often of little concern to them.

if you can't get a handle on these three things, your complaint isn't worth shit. shut up and move on.

not just that, but think, think, think.

complaining just to clear your own feelings and subject others to your unhappiness does nothing for anyone.

yes, there's likely to be a whole string of these "think" posts in the near future. i'm tired of people cruising through their day on some kind of ignorance auto pilot.

I hate it when people try to give me rules about complaining

Yep, the days of free-form bitching are long gone. Now you not only have to know the why, you have to be prepared to solve your own complaint.

Complainers like me have really had to adjust our thinking. ;)
