Things that piss you off?

i had to deal with fucking static and clicking on my phone line AGAIN this morning. my call to verizon didn't go well... i'm sick of dealing with this.... 4th time in 3 years. it's getting old already.

the guy told me they could have someone here on tuesday. when i confronted him with my dissatisfaction he said (and this is no lie) that i was lucky to have someone coming that soon... that they have a lot of problems and lots of people have to wait much longer... and he didn't say so in a consoling tone.

i asked the guy this: if you have so many repair issues and such a long wait for service, wouldn't you think that you guys should reconsider the quality of your infrastructure and/or depth of your repair crew? to that (which was a rhetorical question) he said he wasn't paid to give opinions.

for one reason or another, it's working now but i think i see comcast in my future. i don't like comcast cable one bit but it can't be any WORSE and at least i'd have unlimited long distance and highspeed internet.

EJ, I have comcast cable and it ain't perfection either, though most of the time it is fast. Sometimes though it just bogs down. we have a combination wired/wireless network with an additional hub servicing several computers; i'm not sure what causes the bog down but it seems most of the time i can fix it if I go to the cellar and disconnect all wires to the cable modem and router (they cleverly call it 'power cycling', but to me it's not unlike kicking the machine)

whatever, it usually works, but can be a pain in the ass sometimes. I'm glad I showed my kids how to do it.
i don't have any reason to dislike their internet service... but i've never cared for their tv and have no clue what to make of their telephone service.

i THINK (and maybe someone more tech-aware than i can clarify this) that the more computers there are feeding off the cable internet, the slower it goes... as opposed to dsl where it's constant. not sure but i think that's at least close to accurate. *shrugs*

It really pisses me off when. . .

People have a shitty day or week and take the time to tell you EVERYTHING about you and your life that pisses them off also. Just because they have had a shitty week or got bad news doesn't give them the right to take it out of the unsuspecting members of their own f...n family. Especially whenever they need anything YOU happen to be the member of the family that is right there for them - dependable. So much for freakin unconditional love huh!!

that summer days can't all be 86 degrees...

weeds - stupid weeds in my herb garden. Invasive suckers...

Neither Gil nor I can sign in to our Hotmail email accounts  MSN is working fine, I click on the link to the email account and it goes straight to the sign in page.....I put in the password and it just keeps going back to the sign in page......

*Edit* I just tried using Mozilla instead of IE.....guess what it worked so now I am more puzzled than ever

bandit: obvious solution--stop using IE. :>

also, you do know there's a way to make any web-based e-mail go through your e-mail software instead, right?

I totally agree with you. I wish there wasn't a post count at all. I can't for the life of me figure why it matters.

Welcome to Lit. You've already identified one of the Lit Mysteries, maybe it's the equivalent to the DaVinci Code (which I haven't read -- seems I don't follow the crowds).

Don't get me wrong... I'd follow the crowd to the ice cream parlor (I'd lead them too). Once there my choice is usually not popular but that only leaves more for me. :)

I just dropped an open bottle of Advil (brand new--200 freakin' pills). And the pills skittered all over the floor.

men who think they can force women to fulfill their fantasies even if their woman doesn't want to do it, grrrr

gee, i can't imagine who you're speaking of... :>

that would bother me less if not for the fact that it's the same post we've all seen half a bazillion times three times/week. only the handle and vocabulary changes.

Oh I can SO agree w/ THIS one!

WPMO? When you go into a thread and are completely ignored. Speaking of one specific thread. Why do you have to be such a bitch?? I never did anything to you!! Jeeeez!

That does happen. In some areas of this forum (not here) where it seems to matter to some people what your post count is , I am ignored on a regular basis. Of course, I don't post there very much, even though I do lurk a lot, so most people over there don't know me at all.

Anyhow, come here! I promise I won't ignore you! :rose:

Being sent off the field because I had a little blood running down my leg...

Ok, so it wasn't just 'a little' blood. My sock was catching most of it. I mean what's the big deal anyway???

Hey, it could have been worse; you could have been caught trying to sneak some deadly shampoo onto an airplane.

Hey Yank! Yep that could have been worse. Fortunately, as a seasoned traveler, I know better. Which leads me to my next WPMO...

You go through security at a U.S. airport and everyone is so fucking PC! If I set the detector off, they have to call for a 'male' wand check, then some asshole comes over all apologetic and asks if it's 'ok' if he pats me down. Then he uses the back of his hand so I won't take offense. I mean WTF? Is this security or 'consideration of others' PC training bullshit???

You want to feel secure? Go overseas. They have the military with machine guns running security. You beep, they shove their hands down your pants without asking. No 'please', no apologies. The way it ought to be.

If you are afraid of being 'offended' then you ought to stay home or take the fucking bus!!!

Wow Yank. You really got me all worked about that tonight,..
